Elly DeLaCruz went deep with two aboard in the second inning to put Rodriguez and the Flyers on their heels, they never recovered, although Riley added another homer and Joey Ortiz hit one too. Hilliard hit solo homers in the third and fifth innings, making the score 5-3 Mariners, and they never looked back. Schwellenbach was strong, and the bullpen trio mentioned above did it again, not perfect like last game, but no runs allowed. D'arnaud applied the coup de grace in the top of the eighth with a two run homer.

The Mariners came out fast looking for the sweep. Buxton doubled, Hilliard walked, Seager was safe on Riley's error, which plated Buxton. Alvarez added a sac fly, and it was 2-0 right out of the gate. The Flyers fought back in the second inning, Jeffers walked, Marsh and Gimenez singled to load the bases, Ortiz hit into a fielder's choice scoring Jeffers, then Nootbaar tripled in Marsh and Ortiz. In the fifth, Oneil Cruz doubled home two runs, Hilliard singled in a run in the seventh off Cease. Cousins pitched the final two innings for Terrapin and made it interesting, loading the bases while striking out the side in the top of the ninth. He hung on for the hairy save, avoiding the sweep.
