The Maui Wowies rode a dominant complete-game performance from Chris Sanchez and a relentless offensive attack to a 6â1 victory over the Montana Old Geezers. Maui struck early and often, beginning with a run in the 2nd inning and adding two more in the 3rd behind a two-run homer from Mark Canha. They padded their lead with two more in the 4th thanks to a two-run blast by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and added an insurance run in the 7th on Andrew Vaughnâs RBI double. Chris Sanchez was in control from start to finish, scattering six hits and striking out 10 in a complete-game effort. The Old Geezersâ only run came in the top of the 9th on Paul Goldschmidtâs RBI double, but it was far too little, too late.

In a low-scoring pitcherâs duel, the Montana Old Geezers edged out the Maui Wowies 2-0 behind a dominant complete game shutout by Jake Irvin, who scattered five hits and struck out five over nine innings. The Old Geezers got on the board early when Geraldo Perdomo reached on an error in the 1st and eventually came around to score. They added their second and final run in the 4th when Cody Bellinger ripped a triple and was brought home on Mike Yastrzemskiâs RBI double. That was all the offense Irvin would need. Bryce Miller was sharp for the Wowies despite the loss, going the distance with 12 strikeouts and only one earned run allowed on four hits. The Wowies had their chances, with Jeremy Peña collecting two of the teamâs five hits, including a double, but they were unable to capitalize with runners on.

In the rubber match of the series, the Maui Wowies edged out the Montana Old Geezers in a back-and-forth battle, walking away with a 6â5 win in front of the home crowd. The Old Geezers struck first with a pair of runs in the 2nd and added one more in the 3rd to take a 3â1 lead. But the Wowies chipped away, tying the game in the 4th and taking the lead for good in a decisive 3-run 6th inning, powered by Jeremy Peña's 3-run homer, while Vladdy Guerrero added 3 hits and an RBI to pace the Maui offense. Aaron Judge and Ryan McMahon both homered for Montana, but despite a strong start from Nestor Cortes, reliever Clay Holmes couldnât hold the lead, taking the loss after surrendering the gameâs turning rally. Jorge Lopez earned the win in relief, with Hunter Gaddis closing things out in the 9th for the save.
