Luis Ortiz tossed his second shutout in a row. He must be under the tutelage of Max Fried or something. Only Garret Mitchell and Oneil Cruz were able to record hits for the Terps and although they five drew walks, none scored. NE batters struck out fifteen times, G-Rod whiffed eight and Fernando Cruz struck out five of the six men he faced.

Dah-dah-DAH, Dah-dah-DAH. Tonight's ESPN Sportcenter show led with the titanic three run homer that Oneil Cruz drove out of the ballpark in the 6th - 98 mph coming in and 118 mph going out. That staked Wheeler to a 3-1 lead that he was unable to hold. The Mariners rallied to score single runs in the 7th and 8th. In the 11th, Clase turned two would be doubles into play result 7 and left runners at the corners. Hilliard walked it off with a two run shot.

The Terps took a 4-2 lead with a three run 5th, Mitchell with a two run double and Cruz with an rbi base knock. NE tied it with a pair in the bottom half and then no one scored for a while. Jax pitched three innings to earn a win. Rookie Michael Busch delivered the margin of victory with an rbi single after Mitchell singled and stole second. It has to be noted that Riley struck out his first five trips to the plate before drawing a two out walk prior to the game winning hit.

Two players who rode the Terps bench during the first three games of the series came up big on getaway day. Maikel Garcia had a two rbi hit with the bases loaded in the 4th and Tyrone Taylor clubbed a solo homer in the 8th. Save for Schreiber, who filled in for the exhausted Jax.
