The team says Verlander will miss just one start, but if Farmer can pitch well there are other obvious avenues of entry into the Tigers' rotation even if Verlander does only miss one start. Given how bad Farmer was in his other start for the Tigers this year (seven earned runs in five innings) it would be best to stay away in most daily leagues Wednesday. However, his 3.56 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 12 starts at Triple-A give some hope to the idea that he has what it takes to stick at the back of Detroit's rotation.
