His stint in the big leagues probably won't last long, but Gomes could stick around if Adam Lind does not get things sorted out at Triple-A. He can play catcher, third base, and first base, but is not considered a great defender at any position. He has a .359/.391/.565 batting line in 131 Triple-A at-bats this season, but posted a more modest line of .250/.317/.464 at Double-A New Hampshire last year. |
