Jun 30 2025Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said that Langford (oblique) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list Saturday when first eligible, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Bruce Bochy told McFarland that Langford will likely head out on a rehab assignment later this week, and if all goes well, the 23-year-old outfielder will rejoin the big club this weekend. Langford is slashing a disappointing .232/.308/.421 for the Rangers this season and has been on the IL twice due to oblique injuries.
Jun 27 2025The Rangers placed Langford on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to June 25, due to a left oblique strain. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford underwent testing on his left side earlier this week, which revealed a mild strain in his oblique. He's eligible to return from the IL on July 5, but oblique strains tend to take longer to heal, and Langford may need to get some reps on a rehab assignment before being cleared to return to the majors. Alejandro Osuna is starting in left field in Friday's game against the Mariners and should see more playing time for as long as Langford is sidelined. Michael Helman was recalled by the Rangers from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.
Jun 25 2025Langford's absence from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles is due to left side tightness, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 23-year-old will undergo medical testing once the Rangers return home after Wednesday's series finale in Baltimore. There doesn't seem to be significant concern for Langford's injury, though he could still end up requiring a stint on the injured list.
Jun 23 2025Langford went 0-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's 8-3 loss to Pittsburgh. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford returned to action after missing the previous two games due to back stiffness. He was back at his usual second spot in the batting order. Following strong production over the first month of the season (.972 OPS), Langford has a line of .209/.289/.360 over 44 games since May 1.
Jun 22 2025Langford (back) will start in center field and bat second Sunday against the Pirates. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford sat out the previous two games due to back stiffness but will return to action for Sunday's series finale in Pittsburgh. The 23-year-old started off June by going 3-for-19 in his first five games, but he has an .831 OPS with four extra-base hits in his past 10 contests.
Jun 21 2025Langford (back) isn't part of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that Langford was day-to-day due to back stiffness, and the outfielder will get Saturday off for recovery purposes. In his place, Sam Haggerty will bat second and patrol left field. Per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, Bochy also said that Langford could pinch hit Saturday if needed, but the team intends to rest him fully.
Jun 20 2025Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that Langford is considered day-to-day due to back stiffness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates, though he could be available as a pinch hitter. Sam Haggerty and Alejandro Osuna would stand to see more starts in left field if Langford were to miss more time. Langford has been more productive at the plate as of late, having gone 12-for-39 (.308) with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI over his last nine games.
Jun 18 2025Langford went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Royals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford made an early impact, driving in a run with a double before coming around to score in the first inning. The 23-year-old has been productive over his past 10 games, recording four multi-hit efforts along with four extra-base hits, five RBI and six runs scored. On the season, he's slashing .240/.318/.442 with 13 home runs, 31 RBI, 31 runs scored and 11 steals across 274 plate appearances.
Jun 11 2025Langford went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 16-4 win over Minnesota. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford had a rough month of May (.189), which has carried over into June. The outfielder is 6-for-30 (.200) through seven games in the current month. Tuesday's homer was his 12th in 56 games, and Langford should easily surpass the 16 home runs he smacked over 134 contests in his rookie 2024 season.
Jun 8 2025Langford is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford will get his first day off since April 27 while in the midst of an extended rough patch. Over his last 20 games, the second-year outfielder is slashing just .192/.256/.333 with a 31.4 percent strikeout rate. He'll give way to Alejandro Osuna in left field.
Jun 4 2025Langford went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 defeat to the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It was the fourth three-hit effort of the campaign by Langford, who registered his first multi-hit game since May 17. The speedy outfielder has been mired in a bit of a slump at the dish, batting .226 (14-for-62) with three homers, eight RBI and seven runs scored over his last 16 games. Langford has stolen four bases during this cold spell, so he's finding other ways to contribute while he works through his hitting struggles.
May 26 2025Langford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 2-1 loss to Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford ran his hitting streak up to a modest four games, also tallying his 10th homer of the year and first RBI in his last eight outings. The speedy outfielder got off to a sizzling start at the dish but has seen his production taper off a bit in May, during which he's hitting .198 with four homers, two doubles and nine RBI through 91 at-bats. Even so, Langford has logged at least one hit in eight of his last nine contests, and he's collected 13 runs scored, six stolen bases and 11 walks this month.
May 18 2025Langford went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-1 win against the Astros. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford got Texas on the board with an RBI infield single during the third inning to tie the game at 1-1, and he provided an insurance run with a solo shot in the seventh, his ninth homer of the year. The 23-year-old has hit three long balls in his past six games, though he's batting just .217 (5-for-23) during that span. For the season, Langford has a .248/.331/.489 slash line with eight steals, 20 RBI and 19 runs through 37 contests.
May 15 2025Langford went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-3 win over Colorado. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford gave Texas an early lead with a two-run blast in the first inning. It was his second home run in three games and team-leading eighth through 34 contests. That's half as many as he hit during his rookie 2024 season over 134 games. He's second on the team with 18 RBI behind Adolis Garcia (24).
May 12 2025Langford went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Rockies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Texas outfielder gave this team a 2-1 lead when he slugged a 412-foot long ball off Colorado starter Chase Dollander in the sixth. Langford snapped a 16-game streak without a homer, over which he batted .238 (15-for-63). Across 137 total plate appearances, the 23-year-old owns a .263/.350/.492 slash line with seven homers, 16 runs scored and 16 RBI.
May 8 2025Langford went 1-for-4 with two steals in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Langford put himself in scoring position twice with the steals, his fifth and sixth of the season, but his teammates went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Rangers lost their sixth consecutive series, as the team-wide offensive struggles persist. Langford is one of the few Rangers getting on base with any regularity. He's reached base safely in seven straight contests and is batting .279/.353/.500 through 27 games.
