May 31 2025The Mariners optioned Rivas to Triple-A Tacoma following Friday's game against the Twins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Cole Young, whose contract was selected by the Mariners from Tacoma. Rivas has served in a utility role for Seattle after being recalled by the big club in early April, and he is slashing .283/.411/.300 with four steals and four RBI in 73 major-league plate appearances this season. Rivas should receive a call back up to the majors this season should the Mariners need infield depth.
May 7 2025Rivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 27-year-old had started at second base six times over a seven-game stretch from April 27 through Monday, but his time as a regular in the Seattle lineup appears to be over after Dylan Moore (hip) returned from the injured list Tuesday. Rivas will hit the bench for the second straight day while Moore picks up the start at the keystone.
Apr 30 2025Rivas will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Angels. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Rivas will pick up his third straight start at second base and looks like he'll get a trial in an everyday role after Dylan Moore (hip) recently joined Ryan Bliss (biceps) on the injured list. Though Moore is expected to spend the minimum 10 days on the shelf, he could be deployed more frequently at third base or in right field if the Mariners want to keep regular playing time available for Rivas. Since getting called up from Triple-A Tacoma on April 9, Rivas is hitting .308 with three stolen bases and an impressive 9:6 BB:K over 35 plate appearances.
