Jun 12 2025Lazar allowed one run on three hits and no walks in two relief innings Wednesday against the Cubs. He struck out one. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Lazar continues to operate as a multi-inning middle reliever for the Phillies, as he's worked beyond one frame in four of his six outings. The 26-year-old right-hander should remain a bullpen piece while Aaron Nola (ankle) is sidelined, but Lazar has an uninspiring 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB with zero holds over 10 innings.
May 24 2025Lazar walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 9-6 extra-innings win over the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Lazar was tagged for two runs over two innings in his season debut Tuesday, but he stayed on the big-league roster after that poor showing. With this game going to the 11th inning, Lazar was likely the last pitcher available, as both closer Jordan Romano and setup man Matt Strahm had pitched Thursday and Friday. Lazar got the job done for his first big-league save, but the vast majority of his future appearances are likely to be in low-leverage spots.
May 19 2025The Phillies recalled Lazar from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Lazar will join the big club for the first time all season and will take the 26-man active roster spot of right-hander Mick Abel, who was optioned to Triple-A after making a spot start for the Phillies in Sunday's win over the Pirates. Though the back end of the Philadelphia bullpen lost a notable piece after lefty Jose Alvarado was handed an 80-game suspension Sunday, Lazar is unlikely to factor into the mix for saves. He'll presumably work in middle relief initially after he turned in a 3.12 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB in 17.1 innings with Lehigh Valley to earn the call to Philadelphia.
