Jun 11 2025Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said that Miller received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right elbow Tuesday after meeting with Dr. Keith Meister and will be shut down from throwing for at least the next two weeks, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports. Hollander noted that Miller could be available to pitch in 4-to-6 weeks if all goes smoothly once he starts throwing again. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller missed about three weeks in May due to right elbow inflammation, but he was placed back on the IL on Tuesday after his velocity and command struggled to bounce back in his two starts since returning to the Seattle rotation. After getting a cortisone shot for his elbow in May, Miller received a PRP injection this time around, which the Mariners are hoping will resolve the discomfort in his arm once and for all. Miller -- who also revealed last month that he's dealing with a small bone spur in his elbow -- will be sidelined for a lengthier period of time during his latest IL stint, with a projected 4-to-6-week recovery timeline meaning that he'll most likely remain out through the All-Star break. Logan Evans was called up from Triple-A Tacoma to replace Miller in the rotation Tuesday in Arizona, though Evans could return to the minors next week, when Logan Gilbert (elbow) is likely in line to return from the IL.
Jun 10 2025The Mariners placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller had been scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, but after he wasn't spotted throwing his between-starts bullpen session Monday, it became clear something was amiss. Mariners manager Dan Wilson revealed after the Mariners' 11-inning loss in the series opener in Arizona that Miller was still dealing with inflammation as well as a bone spur in his right elbow, prompting Seattle to shut him down once again. Miller missed approximately three weeks of action in May due to the injury but had struggled in both of his starts upon returning from the IL, striking out just four batters and allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits, two walks and two hit batsmen over nine innings. Wilson noted that a cortisone shot during Miller's previous IL stint didn't fully relieve the discomfort in his right elbow, so the 26-year-old may require a more aggressive treatment plan and/or a lengthier shutdown period this time around. Logan Evans was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move and will take Miller's spot in the rotation beginning with Tuesday's game.
Jun 6 2025Miller (2-5) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings to take the loss Friday versus the Angels. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller has given up eight runs over nine innings across two starts since he returned from right elbow inflammation. It's unclear how much the issue is bothering him, but his performance simply isn't up to par currently. The right-hander's poor start Friday put him at a 5.73 ERA with a 1.52 WHIP and 39:23 K:BB across 48.2 innings through 10 starts. The 26-year-old is tentatively projected for a road start in Arizona his next time out.
May 31 2025Miller allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision Saturday versus the Twins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller missed nearly three weeks due to right elbow inflammation, and he returned without a rehab assignment. That likely led to a pitch count, as he was pulled after 71 pitches (45 strikes), though he also struggled a bit, giving up all three runs in the second inning. Miller is now at a 5.36 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 37:22 K:BB through 43.2 innings over nine starts this season. The 26-year-old is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Angels.
May 30 2025Miller (elbow) is expected to make his return from the injured list to start Saturday's game against the Twins, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After spending about two weeks recovering from right elbow inflammation, Miller will avoid a rehab assignment and instead jump right back into Seattle's rotation. It's unclear if the 26-year-old right-hander will have any workload limitations Saturday, but he'll square off with a Minnesota offense that's struggled lately as he tries to improve his 5.22 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 35:21 K:BB on the season. Miller will be taking the rotation spot of Logan Evans, who was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
May 27 2025Bryce Miller (elbow) said he "feel[s] good" after Monday's bullpen session and could rejoin the Mariners' starting rotation as soon as this weekend against the Twins, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The organization hasn't officially decided the next step in Miller's rehab program, but he may not require a minor-league rehab assignment before returning to the big-league rotation. The right-hander landed on the shelf May 14 due to elbow inflammation, which is an issue he had been battling throughout the season. In an attempt to curb further issues, Miller is expected to operate on a six-day pitching schedule moving forward.
May 22 2025Miller (elbow) said he will throw a simulated game Friday in Houston and will operate on a six-day routine moving forward, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The sim game will be up-and-down for two innings. Miller believes if it goes well, he will avoid a rehab assignment and could subsequently return to the Mariners' rotation. The righty is coming back from right elbow inflammation that he has dealt with throughout the season, with the injury ultimately landing him on the injured list May 12.
May 21 2025Miller (elbow) played catch in the outfield prior to Wednesday's game against the White Sox, MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller continues to recover from right elbow inflammation, which he'd been dealing with throughout the season before needing to go on the injured list May 12. It's unclear whether the right-hander will require a brief minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining Seattle's rotation, but he appears to have a chance of returning before the end of May at this point. Miller's throwing progression will remain worth monitoring, as the Mariners have yet to offer a concrete timetable for the 26-year-old's return to action.
May 14 2025The Mariners placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to right elbow inflammation. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller wasn't known to be nursing an elbow injury, but this issue may explain in part why he labored during his latest start against the Blue Jays on Sunday, when he served up a season-high seven runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. According to Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com, general manager Justin Hollander said that Miller received a cortisone shot Tuesday to treat the injury, and the Mariners are optimistic that he'll be ready to return from the IL when first eligible May 27. Seattle called up lefty Jhonathan Diaz from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move, and he could take Miller's spot in the rotation this weekend in San Diego if he's not needed in relief in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
May 11 2025Miller (2-4) allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over five-plus innings to take the loss versus the Blue Jays on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller struggled throughout the 92-pitch outing, though the game didn't get out of hand until he allowed a three-run home run to George Springer in the fifth inning. The seven runs allowed were a season high for Miller, who has also given up four runs on three other occasions. He's now at a 5.22 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 35:21 K:BB through 39.2 innings over eight starts, and he's yet to complete six innings in any of them. He's tentatively projected to make his next start on the road in San Diego.
May 5 2025Miller allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out one without walking a batter in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller battled a back issue in his previous start, but he didn't appear to be limited Monday, throwing 63 of 94 pitches for strikes. While he found the zone just fine, he wasn't fooling the Athletics' hitters much. This was Miller's shortest start of the season by innings pitched, and it's the third time he's allowed at least four runs. He's at a mediocre 4.15 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 32:19 K:BB over 34.2 innings across seven starts, but this was his first start of the season in which he avoided walking a batter. Miller is projected for a home start versus the Blue Jays this weekend.
Apr 30 2025Miller revealed after Tuesday's start versus the Angels that his back "locked up" on him pregame, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller did not sit down in between innings to avoid making the back issue worse. He successfully navigated through five scoreless frames in the outing, although he issued a season-high five walks. Miller also noted that he dealt with some arm soreness earlier this month, saying that it's been "one thing after another that hasn't been major, but just been nagging." The right-hander is scheduled to face the Athletics on Monday and it does not appear at this point that he's in any danger of missing that start.
Apr 16 2025Miller (1-2) earned the win against the Reds on Wednesday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight across five scoreless innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller came out firing Wednesday, punching out six of the first eight batters faced before striking out two more in the fifth frame. It was another sharp outing for Miller, who has begun the season with a 3.43 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB across 21 innings. He'll look to make it two wins in a row in his next start, tentatively slated for next week at Fenway Park against the Red Sox.
Apr 12 2025Miller didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Rangers after allowing one run on two hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out five. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller arguably pitched well enough to deserve a win Friday, giving up just a lone run, but the Mariners lost the lead in the sixth inning and didn't regain it until the eighth. While the right-hander holds a rocky 4.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB over 16 frames, he's lasted at least five innings in each of his three starts. Miller will encounter a tough setup in his next scheduled start, which is slated for the middle of next week at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park against the Reds.
Apr 5 2025Miller (0-2) took the loss against San Francisco on Saturday, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four batters. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller wasn't sharp Saturday, as he issued four walks, threw just 53 of 93 pitches for strikes and served up four extra-base hits (all doubles). He was nonetheless able to hold the Giants to two runs through five frames, but the righty retired just one of the four batters he faced in the sixth before being pulled, and he ended up being charged for two runs in that frame. Miller has had a disappointing beginning to the campaign, posting a 5.73 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB over 11 frames to go along with his two losses.
Mar 29 2025Miller (0-1) took the loss against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller held the Athletics scoreless through three frames before serving up a two-run homer to Shea Langeliers in the fourth. The right-handed hurler recovered to post a scoreless fifth, but he gave up another run in the sixth and was lifted with two outs in that frame. Miller tossed 90 pitches in his season debut, and he'll look for a better outcome in his second start, which is tentatively slated to take place in San Francisco next week.
Feb 27 2025Miller (finger) will start Thursday's Cactus League game against the Giants. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller missed his final start of the 2024 season due to a blister on his right index finger, but the injury didn't affect his offseason training program. He'll take the hill for his first outing of the spring and will have a firm grasp on a starting spot in a talented Seattle rotation heading into Opening Day. Over his 31 starts covering 180.1 innings this past season, Miller turned in a 2.94 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 171:45 K:BB.
Sep 28 2024The Mariners placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a blister on his right index finger. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: In his last appearance Monday against the Astros, Miller picked up his final win of the season as he allowed two hits and two walks while striking out five over seven scoreless innings. The 26-year-old right-hander ended the year strong with four quality starts in a row, and in 12 games after the All-Star break, he posted a 1.89 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 73:16 K:BB over 71.1 innings. Miller will finish the 2024 regular season with a 12-8 record over 31 starts with a 2.94 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 171:45 K:BB across 180.1 innings. Emerson Hancock was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move, and he will start Saturday against the Athletics.
Sep 23 2024Miller (12-8) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out five over seven scoreless innings to earn the win over the Astros on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: While Miller walked multiple batters for the fifth time in his last seven starts, that was about the only complaint anyone could register with this performance. He's rattled off four straight quality starts, though a lack of run support has caused him to win just two of those games. Miller has kept runs off the board in nine of his 31 starts this season, pitching to a 2.94 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 171:45 K:BB through 180.1 innings. He's tentatively projected to make one more start at home versus the Athletics in the regular season, though it's possible the Mariners call up a spot starter if they are officially eliminated from playoff contention before Miller's turn comes up again.
Sep 19 2024Miller did not factor into the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out eight. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees got to Miller for one run in the second after the right-hander allowed a one-out walk, followed by an RBI single off the bat of Anthony Rizzo. However, the 26-year-old would recover nicely, hurling four scoreless frames before being relieved by Troy Taylor to open the seventh. Miller was unable to come away with the win, but he was able to log his third consecutive quality start while striking out at least seven batters for the third time in his last five outings. He now carries a 1.99 ERA in September (four starts) to go along with a 23:10 K:BB.
Sep 13 2024Miller did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Rangers on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over six innings while striking out seven. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller impressed during his time on the mound, allowing only a solo shot by Josh Jung in the top of the second inning. It marked the right-hander's second consecutive quality start and the third time in his last four outings that he allowed one or fewer runs. Miller also managed to record seven strikeouts on the night despite generating only six whiffs, marking his highest strikeout total this month. He now carries a 2.16 ERA through three September starts to go along with a 15:6 K:BB.
Sep 7 2024Miller (11-8) picked up the win in Friday's 6-1 victory over the Cardinals, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out four. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander fired 62 of 94 pitches for strikes and benefitted from some impressive defense behind him when St. Louis put the ball in play. The quality start was his 15th of the year, and he's given up three runs or fewer in six straight outings, posting a 1.56 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 38:8 K:BB in 34.2 innings over that stingy stretch. Miller will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Rangers.
Sep 1 2024Miller (10-8) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller has failed to complete five innings in three of his last six starts, though this was his first loss since June 29. He threw 53 of 91 pitches for strikes in this inefficient outing, which saw him walk multiple batters for just the second time in his last 12 appearances. Miller is now at a 3.30 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 147:36 K:BB through 155.1 innings over 27 starts. He pitched a total of 151 innings across all levels last year, so he should be good for at least couple of starts before fatigue would be a concern. If the Mariners get hot in September, Miller may be asked to tough it out for the regular season, but there's a chance he gets shut down early if the team ends up out of the playoff race. For now, Miller is projected to make his next start at St. Louis.
Aug 26 2024Miller (10-7) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Monday, allowing one run on two hits and no walks while striking out 10 batters over seven innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller was dominant in the outing, racking up 14 whiffs and tying a season high with 10 punchouts. The only run he allowed came on a Josh Lowe solo homer in the second inning, and Miller surrendered just one other hit (a single by Lowe in the fifth). The right-handed hurler has been outstanding of late, allowing just three runs (all on solo homers) over his past four starts covering 24 frames.. Miller has broken through in his second big-league campaign -- he ranks 11th among qualified starters with a 3.23 ERA and fourth with a 0.98 WHIP while registering a 143:33 K:BB over 150.2 innings.
Aug 21 2024Miller did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five in four innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller started out excellent by striking out the side in the first but needed 92 pitches to complete four frames, with 51 of those pitches coming in the third and fourth innings. Miller was able to hold the Dodgers scoreless through three but was victimized by the home-run ball in the fourth when he gave up solo shots to Gavin Lux and Max Muncy. Those were the first two home runs he's given up in four August starts and he's only given up four homers total since the start of July. The 25-year-old owns a 3.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 133:33 K:BB in 143.2 innings and lines up to face the Rays at home to begin next week.
Aug 15 2024Miller didn't factor into the decision in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers. He allowed just two hits while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller was dominant Tuesday, though he'd ultimately come away with a no-decision after the Mariners' bullpen gave up two runs in the eighth. The 25-year-old right-hander has delivered 13 scoreless innings over his last two starts, allowing just five hits while striking out 15 in that span. Overall, Miller is 9-7 this year with a 3.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 128:31 K:BB across 139.2 innings. He'll have a tougher matchup in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week on the road against the Dodgers.
Aug 9 2024Miller (9-7) allowed three hits and a walk while striking out six over six shutout innings to earn the win Friday over the Mets. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: This was Miller's third scoreless outing over his last five starts as well as his fourth quality start in that span. The 25-year-old right-hander has found success lately by limiting the long balls, giving up just two home runs over his last seven outings. For the season, Miller has recorded a 3.46 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 119:31 K:BB over 132.2 innings across 23 starts. He's projected for a road outing in Detroit next week.
Aug 4 2024Miller did not factor into the decision in an extra-inning win over the Phillies on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk over 4.1 innings while striking out four. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Phillies' lineup put Miller to task early, posting back-to-back hits to open the contest before tagging the right-hander for one run in the first. Miller then managed to keep Philadelphia off the board over the next three innings, but he had to be relieved by Tayler Saucedo with one out in the fifth after failing to retire three of the first four batters he faced in the frame. The 25-year-old Miller had gone at least six innings in three consecutive starts coming into Saturday's no-decision, while the four runs were the most he's surrendered since June 23 against the Marlins (span of five starts). On a positive note, Miller has issued only two walks since the start of July while posting 21 strikeouts over that stretch.
Jul 28 2024Miller (8-7) allowed three runs on seven hits over 6.1 innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the White Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller held the White Sox to one run through six frames before coughing up a two-run shot to Paul DeJong in the seventh inning. Miller has shown great command over the last several weeks, posting a 37:7 K:BB across his last 46.2 innings. He's issued just three free passes over his last six starts. Miller owns a 3.46 ERA with a 109:29 K:BB through 122.1 innings this season. He's currently lined up for a tough home matchup with the Phillies next weekend.
Jul 22 2024Miller allowed three hits and struck out five without walking a batter over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller hadn't pitched since July 10 due to the All-Star break, but he was sharp, throwing 62 of 94 pitches for strikes. This was his fifth scoreless outing of the year, as well as his third such effort of at least seven innings, but the Mariners' bullpen couldn't hold the lead. Miller is still putting together a solid sophomore campaign with a 3.41 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 103:29 K:BB through 116 innings over 20 starts, though he's a bit unlucky to have a 7-7 record. The 25-year-old's next start is projected to be another favorable matchup on the road versus the White Sox.
Jul 10 2024Miller (7-7) earned the win against the Padres on Wednesday, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out one over six scoreless innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning and then cruised from there despite generating just six swinging strikes on 80 pitches. This was the righty's first quality start since June 12, but he has now yielded two earned runs or fewer in five of his past six outings. He will take a 3.63 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 98:29 K:BB into the All-Star break.
Jul 4 2024Miller allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller gave up a two-run home run to Gunnar Henderson in the third inning, but he was able to limit the damage there. While he came an out shy of a quality start for the second time in four outings, Miller put in a decent performance to avoid a third straight loss. The right-hander is at a 3.84 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 97:29 K:BB over 103 innings across 18 starts. He's projected for a road outing in San Diego in his next start.
Jun 30 2024Miller (6-7) took the loss against the Twins on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out six. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller was tagged for runs in the second and fourth innings on three doubles and a single, though the right-hander pitched well outside of those frames while generating 14 whiffs on the night. He also didn't surrender a home run for the third time in his last four starts and fanned six batters in three of his six starts this month. Despite the solid outing, Miller was charged with his seventh loss Saturday and has now lost two straight after previously winning three decisions in a row (over five starts).
Jun 23 2024Miller (6-6) allowed six runs on six hits and a walk over four innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Marlins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miami jumped on Miller early with a four-run first inning. He gave up another run in the second before Jesus Sanchez scored the Marlins' final run with a solo shot in the third. Miller has allowed 15 earned runs in five starts this month, resulting in a 4.88 ERA. Two of those outings have accounted for 13 of the runs. Miller has produced a 4.89 ERA since the start of May, driving his season mark up to 3.90. He's currently in line for a home matchup with the Twins next weekend.
Jun 18 2024Miller (6-5) earned the win Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It was another solid outing from Miller, who's now allowed just two earned runs over 12.2 innings in his last two starts. While he's been inconsistent at times this year, the 25-year-old Miller has turned in a respectable 3.46 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP and 82:26 K:BB across 15 starts (88.1 innings). Miller will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for this weekend in Miami.
Jun 12 2024Miller allowed two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller rebounded from his worst start of the year by producing his third scoreless outing in 2024. Two of those scoreless efforts have come over his three starts in June. The 25-year-old has a 3.48 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 80:24 K:BB over 82.2 innings through 14 starts this season as he continues to impress as part of the Mariners' strong rotation. Miller's next start is projected to be a challenging road outing in Cleveland.
Jun 7 2024Miller did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-9 loss to Kansas City, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller posted his worst start of the season, allowing nine baserunners and seven runs, each marking season worsts. The Seattle right-hander was cruising through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth, rounded out with a three-run blast by MJ Melendez. The outing pushed Miller's WHIP north of one, as it now stands at 1.02 to go with a 3.81 ERA over 75.2 innings. The 25-year-old looks to bounce back in his next scheduled start against the White Sox at home.
Jun 1 2024Miller (5-5) earned the win over the Angels on Saturday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The score was close early on, but a four-run fourth inning for Seattle put Miller on cruise control. The right-hander racked up 13 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts, which tied his second-highest total of the season. Miller has earned the win in each of his last two starts following a stretch of six outings between April 24 and May 22 during which he went 0-4.
May 27 2024Miller (4-5) earned the win over Houston on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller came into the contest having lost three consecutive outings, during which he posted a 5.71 ERA. The right-hander bounced back with his sixth quality start of the season and his sixth outing with at least six strikeouts. Miller has posted a 3.48 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 62:18 K:BB through 64.2 innings on the campaign.
May 22 2024Miller (3-5) allowed five runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller's last two starts, on the road versus the Orioles and Yankees, have shown that he still has some work to do against elite offenses. He was done in by the long ball Wednesday -- Aaron Judge tagged him for a two-run home run in the first inning and Juan Soto went deep twice in the contest. Miller has allowed multiple homers in four of his 10 starts this season, giving up a total of 10 long balls. The right-hander has a 3.53 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 56:16 K:BB over 58.2 innings. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Astros. Miller gave up four runs on six hits, including two homers, and one walk over six innings in a May 5 start at Houston.
May 17 2024Miller (3-4) took the loss Friday against the Orioles, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out one. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: All of the damage against Miller came in the first inning, when the Orioles put up five runs before the right-hander could record an out. Miller would settle in and blank Baltimore over his final 4.1 frames, allowing just two more hits, though the Mariners couldn't climb out of the early hole in an eventual 9-2 defeat. The 24-year-old Miller has been solid this year overall, holding opponents to two runs or fewer in six of his nine starts. He sports a 3.08 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP and 52:16 K:BB across 52.2 innings this season. Miller is currently lined up for a tough road matchup with the Yankees in his next outing.
May 12 2024Miller (3-3) was stuck with the loss against Oakland on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out nine. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: All of the damage against Miller came in the top of the third, when the 25-year-old issued a leadoff walk to Lawrence Butler to open the frame, followed by back-to-back singles. The right-hander allowed only two hits outside of that inning and retired 10 of the final 12 batters he faced, but he still got stuck with his third loss of the season due to a lack of run support. Miller has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his eight starts this season and recorded his second-highest strikeout total of the campaign Saturday with nine punchouts.
May 5 2024Miller didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Astros, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out three. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller kept a clean sheet through five innings before surrendering a two-run home run to Kyle Tucker in the sixth and a two-run shot to Jon Singleton in the seventh -- a long ball that got Miller pulled. The outing marked Miller's third time allowing multiple homers this season and his three strikeouts were a season low. Through 41.1 innings, Miller owns a 2.61 ERA and a 42:13 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled for a home start against the Athletics on Saturday.
Apr 29 2024Miller allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Atlanta on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller racked up 17 whiffs en route to a season-high 10 punchouts while mostly silencing a potent Atlanta offense. However, opposing starter Max Fried was even better with six hitless frames, and Miller actually departed in line for the loss after giving up a run in the seventh. He was taken off the hook, though, when Mitch Garver belted a walk-off homer in the ninth inning. The outing was Miller's fourth quality start over his past five appearances, and he's given up just four earned runs across 30.1 frames during that span. His 2.04 overall ERA ranks 12th among qualified MLB starters.
Apr 24 2024Miller (3-2) took the loss against Texas on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over four-plus innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Miller made it through three scoreless frames before the Rangers got to him for a pair of solo homers in the fourth. The right-hander did come back out to the mound for the fifth frame, but he was pulled after issuing a leadoff walk, having thrown 83 pitches to that point. Miller's three-game quality start streak was thus snapped, as was his three-game win streak. He'll try to get back on track the next time he takes the mound, which lines up to be this weekend in Houston.
