Jun 29 2025 | Volpe went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored before he was ejected following the eighth inning for arguing balls and strikes, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: During his fifth and final plate appearance of the afternoon, Volpe took issue with a checked swing that was called for a strikeout and was tossed from the game by the first-base umpire. Oswald Peraza shifted over from second base to cover Volpe's spot at shortstop in the top of the ninth inning. |
Jun 22 2025 | Volpe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe snapped a hitless streak of 22 at-bats by going 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 9-0 win, but he'll receive Sunday off after a run of 13 consecutive starts. Oswald Peraza will step in at shortstop and bat ninth for the Yankees in the series finale versus Baltimore. |
Jun 21 2025 | Volpe went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 9-0 win over the Orioles. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The shortstop came into the afternoon having gone 0-for-22 over the prior six games, but Volpe broke out with a big performance that included his ninth homer of the season, as he led off the fifth inning by slicing an Andrew Kittredge fastball just inside the right-field foul pole. On the year, Volpe sports a .236/.308/.424 slash line with eight steals, 33 runs and 41 RBI in 75 games. |
Jun 8 2025 | Volpe (elbow) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth Sunday against the Red Sox. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 24-year-old was out of Saturday's lineup after sustaining an elbow bruise on a hit-by-pitch Friday, but he'll return to action for Sunday's series finale versus Boston. Volpe has clubbed two homers in his past four games and has gone 3-for-11 with four RBI during that span. |
Jun 7 2025 | Volpe (elbow) is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Saturday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe was hit by a pitch on his left elbow in the second inning of Friday's win over Boston. The good news is that X-rays and CT scans came back negative, and while he'll be out of the lineup Saturday, there's optimism he'll be able to return for Sunday's series finale, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Oswald Peraza will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Volpe's absence. |
Jun 6 2025 | X-rays and a CT scan on Volpe's left elbow came back negative after he was pulled from Friday's game against Boston, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe took a pitch off his elbow during the second inning, though it doesn't seem like he suffered any structural damage as a result. The Yankees may elect to give him a day or two off to recover, but a trip to the IL likely won't be necessary. |
Jun 4 2025 | Volpe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 win over Cleveland. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe went deep in the seventh inning to give New York a 3-1 lead. The insurance run proved to be significant, as the Guardians scored once in the ninth but were unable to come all the way back from the deficit. Volpe's long ball snapped a 17-game homerless streak during which he batted just .226 over 62 at-bats, though he did knock in nine runs and log eight extra-base hits (six doubles and two triples) during the power drought. The shortstop has seven homers, seven steals, 34 RBI and a .760 OPS through 58 games on the season. |
May 24 2025 | Volpe went 3-for-6 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 13-1 win over Colorado. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe was one of four Yankee batters to log three hits in Saturday's rout. He brought Trent Grisham home on an RBI infield single in the fifth frame before adding to the Yankees' lead with an RBI double to left field in the eighth. Volpe has reached base safely in five consecutive games and has gone 6-for-19 (.316) with three RBI over that span. |

The shortstop was steady during that stretch, batting .277 (13-for-47) with four doubles and three stolen bases. He's up to a .245/.335/.442 slash line with six homers, 24 RBI, 22 runs scored, six steals and 11 doubles over 40 contests. Volpe has hit safely in five of his last six games, logging three multi-hit efforts in that span. |
May 5 2025 | Volpe (shoulder) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Padres. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though rain in the New York forecast Monday night could result in the series opener being postponed, the Yankees are comfortable enough with Volpe's health to have him play if the game goes on as planned. Volpe felt a pop in his left shoulder Saturday and sat out Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Rays as a result, but he avoided a significant injury after an MRI and X-ray cleared him of any major damage. |
May 4 2025 | Volpe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, but he's considered day-to-day after receiving encouraging MRI and X-ray results, Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 24-year-old felt a "pop" in his left shoulder during Saturday's contest while diving for a groundball, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. Volpe will sit for at least one game, while Oswald Peraza receives a start at shortstop in his place. |
May 3 2025 | Volpe told reporters after Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rays that he felt a "pop" in his left shoulder in the eighth inning, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe injured his left shoulder while diving for a groundball, but he was able to stay in the game after being checked on by trainers. X-rays after Saturday's game came back clean, but the 24-year-old shortstop will undergo further testing and is in jeopardy of missing Sunday's series finale. Oswaldo Cabrera and Pablo Reyes could fill in at shortstop if Volpe were to be sidelined. |
Apr 16 2025 | Volpe went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Wedensday's win over the Royals. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe drilled a go-ahead double off the left-field wall to drive in a pair of runs, putting the Yankees in front 2-1 in the third inning. Despite hitting for a low average, the defensive-minded shortstop is off to a productive start offensively in New York's high-powered lineup. Volpe is slashing .219/.320/.469 with four home runs, four doubles and 15 RBI to go with 11 runs scored and two stolen bases through 75 plate appearances (18 games). |
Apr 4 2025 | Volpe went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 9-4 win over the Pirates. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe's RBI single in the fourth inning sparked a three-run inning that gave the Yankees plenty of breathing room. The shortstop has hit safely in six of seven games this season, but this was his first multi-hit effort, lifting his batting average to .286 on the year. He's added four home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored with a 2:7 BB:K. He hit 33 homers and added a total of 120 RBI across 319 contests the last two years combined, but he's off to a strong start in 2025. |
Apr 2 2025 | Volpe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Wednesday in a loss to the Diamondbacks. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the ninth inning, but Volpe gave the team life with his one-out, three-run blast to right field off A.J. Puk. New York wasn't able to complete the comeback, but it was yet another big early-season moment for the young shortstop. Volpe has gone deep four times in his first five games of the campaign -- only one major-leaguer (Eugenio Suarez) has more home runs so far in 2025. |
Mar 29 2025 | Volpe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and two walks in a 20-9 thrashing of Milwaukee on Saturday. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe played his part on a historic day for the Yankees, smashing one of the team's franchise-record nine homers with a three-run blast to left field in the second inning. The 23-year-old has gone deep in each of New York's first two games of the campaign after hitting a modest 12 homers over 688 plate appearances last season. In fact, both of Volpe's hits so far have left the yard. |
Mar 28 2025 | Volpe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a 4-2 win against Milwaukee. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe swatted a solo shot in the second inning after Austin Wells went deep leading off the bottom of the first for the Yankees. The Opening Day homer gave Volpe a promising start to the campaign in the power department after he clubbed just 12 long balls over 688 plate appearances last season. The young shortstop hit 21 home runs across 601 plate appearances as a rookie in 2023, so there's reason to believe there's more power in his bat than he demonstrated in his sophomore campaign. |
Mar 21 2025 | Volpe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's Grapefruit League win over the Orioles. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe went deep to left-center field in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old is tied for third on the Yankees with three long balls this spring and is tied for the team lead with three stolen bases. Volpe is batting just .200 in spring play, but he's locked in as New York's primary shortstop and appears slated to hit in the middle of the order on a near-everyday basis. |
Feb 20 2025 | Volpe is scheduled to start Friday in the Yankees' Grapefruit League opener versus the Rays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Aside from catcher Austin Wells, right fielder Aaron Judge and injured designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (elbow), the Yankees are expected to roll out a starting nine of their projected Opening Day starters in the first game of the exhibition slate. Volpe's placement in the lineup will be one to watch throughout the spring, as he had served as the Yankees' primary leadoff man leading up to the All-Star break last season before slotting between the fifth and ninth spot throughout the second half while Gleyber Torres ultimately took over as the team's table setter. Torres and last season's No. 2 hitter, Juan Soto, have since moved elsewhere in free agency, but their departures won't necessarily clear the way for Volpe to reclaim a spot atop the lineup. While Volpe offers excellent speed in the leadoff role, his .288 on-base percentage over 319 career games has made him a less palatable option. He'll at least be heading into the spring with some momentum following a strong playoff run this past fall in which he produced a .286/.407/.408 slash line to go with five steals in five attempts over 14 games, but Volpe will need to build off that small sample during the Grapefruit League to secure a prominent spot in the batting order. |
Oct 30 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in Tuesday's 11-4 win over the Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe's third-inning grand slam turned the tide for the Yankees and helped prevent a World Series sweep. Gleyber Torres and Austin Wells added additional home runs as the Yankees cruised to a big win. New York will attempt to stay alive and force a return to Los Angeles with a win in Game 5. |
Sep 28 2024 | Volpe isn't in the Yankees' lineup Saturday versus Pittsburgh. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe will get a chance to regroup during Saturday's contest after going 1-for-14 with five strikeouts over his last four games. Oswaldo Cabrera will step in to start at shortstop instead and bat eighth. |
Sep 22 2024 | Volpe went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Athletics. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe slugged a leadoff homer in his first at-bat to increase New York's lead to three runs and drew a free pass his second time around before swiping his 27th bag of the campaign. The shortstop has now tallied two RBI in back-to-back contests while also hitting safely in three straight. The long ball was his 12th of the campaign and his first since Aug. 3 against the Blue Jays. |
Sep 20 2024 | Volpe went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Athletics. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe had gone just 5-for-44 (.114) while striking out 15 times over a 13-game span between multi-hit efforts. Two of his singles Friday plated a run, including an insurance run in the 10th inning. His September slump has taken a toll on his overall numbers, which are now at a .248/.295/.369 slash line with 11 home runs, 57 RBI, 88 runs scored and 26 stolen bases through 152 contests. Still, he's not at risk of losing his near-everyday role at shortstop. |
Sep 17 2024 | Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on the "Talkin' Yanks" podcast by Jomboy Media that Volpe will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Seattle. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Oswaldo Cabrera will draw the start at shortstop while Volpe gets a break. Volpe is slashing a woeful .163/.177/.163 with a 17:1 K:BB over 14 contests so far in September. |
Sep 9 2024 | Volpe is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest against the Royals, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe will get his first day off since he received a breather back on March 31 during the Yankees' first series of the season versus the Astros. Oswaldo Cabrera will fill in at shortstop Monday. |
Sep 3 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe's two-run single in the eighth inning gave the Yankees a 4-1 lead, but the bullpen faltered over the last two innings. This was Volpe's fourth multi-hit effort over his last eight games, and he's batting .414 (12-for-29) with seven RBI in that span. The shortstop is up to 26 steals on 31 attempts this year while adding 11 home runs, 54 RBI, 84 runs scored and a .255/.305/.387 slash line through 138 contests. |
Aug 29 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Nationals on Wednesday. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees were mostly quieted by MacKenzie Gore and a trio of Washington relievers, but Volpe did well in collecting a pair of hits. The shortstop also recorded a stolen base, giving him 25 on the season -- one more than he recorded as a rookie last year. In additional to the theft total, Volpe has improved his batting average from .209 to .252 and reduced his strikeout rate from 27.8 percent to 22.0 percent, though he's also displayed less power, as he has just 11 homers through 133 games after going deep 21 times in 159 contests in 2023. |
Aug 26 2024 | Volpe went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs in Monday's 5-2 win against the Nationals. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe got his eighth three-hit game of the season on Monday, and his second in the month of August. Volpe's 24th stolen base tied his total from last season, doing it in 28 fewer games this season. The 23-year-old has been successful as of late on the bases, with four swipes in his last seven games, and he's not been caught stealing since July 22. |
Aug 23 2024 | Volpe went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run and a stolen base against Cleveland in Thursday's 6-0 victory. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe went through an ugly 2-for-34, 14-strikeout stretch at the plate from Aug. 7 to Aug. 16, but he's since bounced back with a five-game hitting streak. During the streak, he's gone 6-for-18 and has belted a double in each of his past three contests. Volpe also has three thefts in his past three games and is up to 23 stolen bases on the season, one shy of his total as a rookie last year. |
Aug 21 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's extra-innings loss to Cleveland. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe notched one of two multi-hit efforts for the Yankees in the contest and reached base a third time on a walk. The shortstop took advantage of his trips to the basepaths with his fourth multi-steal performance of the campaign. Volpe has 22 steals on the season, two short of the total he tallied over 159 games as a rookie last year. |
Aug 10 2024 | Volpe (foot) will start at shortstop and bat seventh during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Texas. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe was removed from Thursday's game after fouling a ball off his left foot. He received an extra day off to recover thanks to the postponement of Friday's contest, and he'll now return to the lineup without missing any time. The 23-year-old shortstop has gone 7-for-24 with two homers and six RBI since the beginning of August. |
Aug 8 2024 | Volpe (foot) underwent X-rays on his left foot, which came back clean following Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Angels, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe was forced to leave Thursday's contest in the eighth inning after dealing with foot pain stemming from a foul ball in the second frame. The shortstop avoided any fractures and is dealing with a contusion ahead of Friday's series opener at home against the Rangers. Manager Aaron Boone is uncertain if Volpe will be able to go Friday, but he can be considered day-to-day for the time being. |
Aug 3 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Blue Jays. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning and added an RBI single in the seventh. The shortstop is enjoying an eight game hit streak in which he has homered four times and logged five multi-hit efforts. On the season, he is hitting .261 with 11 homers, 44 RBI, 72 runs scored and 19 steals across 500 plate appearances. |
Jul 31 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-5 with a double, a run and a stolen base Tuesday in a 7-6 extra-innings win against Philadelphia. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe recorded his 20th double of the season in the fourth frame, and he produced his 19th theft following a single in the sixth. The shortstop batted out of the No. 8 slot in the lineup after hitting out of the No. 9 slot in his previous game. Volpe has been in the bottom third of the order each of his past five contests and has hit safely in each game, going 8-for-24 with two homers, three RBI, five runs and two stolen bases. |
Jul 30 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run against the Phillies in Monday's 14-4 victory. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe batted out of the No. 9 hole for the first time this season, but that didn't seem to effect his approach at the plate. The shortstop built onto a big Yankees lead in the eighth inning, swatting a two-run homer to give the team a seven-run advantage. Volpe has homered three times in his past seven games and is batting .313 (10-for-32) with four RBI over that stretch. |
Jul 27 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run and a stolen base in Friday's loss to the Red Sox. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe put the Yankees on the board in the second inning with a solo shot to center field and added a single in the fifth. The shortstop has three multi-hit performances across his past four games and has hit safely in seven of his past eight contests. Over that stretch, he's batting .344 with two home runs, five RBI, five runs and three stolen bases. |
Jul 22 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's win against the Rays. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe took Rays starter Zach Littell deep in the second inning to record his seventh home run of the season. Volpe has come out of the all-star break hot, batting 6-for-14 (.429) with three extra-base hits and four RBI in four games. The 23-year-old has had an up-and-down sophomore season, compiling a .251 average with seven home runs, 36 RBI, 63 runs scored and 17 steals in 101 games played. |
Jul 19 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Friday's 6-1 win versus Tampa Bay. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The New York shortstop cracked a bases-clearing double in the third inning to extend the Yankees' lead to 4-0. This performance marks Volpe's third three-RBI game of the season. Perhaps this game's success will spur the 23-year-old on to a better second half, as he entered the evening hitting a miserable .143 (12-for-84) with eight runs scored and five RBI over his previous 20 games. |
Jul 4 2024 | Volpe will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Thursday's game against the Reds. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's the first time since April 9 that Volpe has hit anywhere other than leadoff. After a productive first two months of the season, Volpe has slashed just .211/.228/.301 with a 33:3 K:BB over 136 plate appearances since June 1. Ben Rice will get a shot in the leadoff spot Thursday. |
Jun 20 2024 | Volpe went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs Wednesday in an extra-inning loss to Baltimore. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe set the table well out of the leadoff spot, reaching base four times and notching his sixth effort of at least three hits this season. The second-year shortstop came up with a clutch hit in the ninth inning, doubling to left field and later coming home to score the game-tying run on a Giancarlo Stanton single. Volpe had been struggling coming into Wednesday, going 3-for-23 with seven strikeouts over his previous five contests. |
Jun 15 2024 | Volpe went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases Friday in an 8-1 victory versus the Red Sox. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe made the most of his fifth-inning single, as he proceeded to steal both second and third base before coming home on an Alex Verdugo double. The second-year shortstop is up to 15 thefts (on 18 attempts) this season, tied for 13th in the league. Volpe's power is down in comparison to his rookie campaign, but he's reduced his strikeout rate from 27.8 percent to 21.3 percent, which has helped produce a much-improved .271/.329/.414 slash line. |
Jun 12 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-5 with a run and a stolen base Wednesday against Kansas City in an 11-5 victory. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe led off the game with a single and then stole second base before later coming around to score. The theft was his 13th of the campaign, pushing him past the halfway point as he seeks to surpass last season's total of 24 steals. Volpe has reached base at a much higher clip this season -- he's currently posting a .335 OBP compared to last year's .283 mark. |
Jun 5 2024 | Volpe went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs against Minnesota in a 9-5 win Wednesday. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe was responsible for one-third of the Yankees' nine hits in the victory, and he he scored twice from atop the team's lineup. It was the fifth time this season the second-year shortstop has collected three or more hits in a game. Volpe had a 21-game hitting streak snapped May 30, but he's picked things right up since then, building a five-game hitting streak during which he's batted .364 (8-for-22). |
May 27 2024 | Volpe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a steal and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Padres. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a single in the sixth inning. He would then steal second and come around to score off a Juan Soto double to open up the scoring and force Joe Musgrove out of the game. His hit streak is the longest by a Yankee since Derek Jeter in 2012. Volpe is currently tied for sixth in the American League with 61 hits and tied for fifth with 11 steals. The 23-year-old has been thriving in the leadoff spot for the majority of the season and is now slashing .282/.355/.435 with 18 extra-base hits, 23 RBI, 36 runs and a 22:52 BB:K in 244 plate appearances. |
May 24 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-5 with a double, a run and a stolen base against the Mariners in Thursday's 5-0 victory. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe led off the seventh inning with a double, stole third base and subsequently scored on a Juan Soto single. It was the 10th theft in 12 tries for Volpe, who has now reached double-digit steals in each of his first two MLB campaigns. The shortstop is on pace to exceed last year's numbers in most categories except power -- he has six homers through 51 contests after going deep 21 times in 159 games last season -- and his .278/.349/.429 slash line highlights his substantial growth at the plate. |
May 16 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during Thursday's 5-0 win over the Twins. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe extended his hit streak to nine games with a first-inning solo home run off Joe Ryan. During that stretch, Volpe has gone yard three times with 10 total RBI while logging multiple hits four times. After an up-and-down rookie campaign, Volpe owns a .273/.348/.432 slash line with six homers and nine stolen bases through 199 plate appearances. |
May 12 2024 | Volpe went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in a loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe was the only Yankee to stand out offensively in the loss -- he was responsible for three of the team's five hits, plated both of the club's runs on a second-inning single and added a stolen base to boot. The young shortstop has reached base safely via hit or walk in nine straight contests, slashing .286/.375/.486 with two homers, seven RBI, seven runs and a 5:11 BB:K over that span. After swiping 24 bags as a rookie last year, Volpe is on pace to exceed that mark with eight steals in nine attempts so far in 2024. |
May 9 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Astros on Thursday. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Volpe accounted for New York's first scores with a two-run blast to right field in the third inning. It was his second homer in his past three contests following a 25-game stretch during which he went deep just once. Volpe is still batting just .200 through eight games in May, but he's held onto the leadoff spot, batting first in the order in all of the Yankees' contests so far this month. |
Apr 29 2024 | Volpe went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored, a stolen base and two walks in Sunday's 15-5 rout over Milwaukee. | ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After a scorching start to the season, Volpe had fallen back a bit in the second half of April, as he came into Sunday batting .157 with no homers and a 30.9 percent strikeout rate over 12 games since April 15. He turned things around -- at least temporarily -- by reaching four times against Milwaukee on Sunday, with his fifth-inning three-run homer opening the floodgates for a Yankees offensive outburst late in the contest. Despite his recent slump, Volpe still has strong overall numbers on the campaign -- he's slashing .282/.368/.418 with three home runs, 13 RBI, 20 runs and seven stolen bases through 126 plate appearances. |
