Jun 16 2025Marsh (shoulder) resumed throwing bullpen sessions at the end of May and has continued his throwing progression at the Royals' spring training facility in Arizona, MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The report doesn't specify whether Marsh has resumed facing hitters yet, but that will be the next step in his progression once he gets enough bullpen sessions under his belt. The right-hander has been on the shelf all season after suffering from shoulder soreness early in spring training and then experiencing a setback in early April. Marsh posted a 4.53 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 129 innings across 26 appearances (25 starts) with the Royals in 2024, but the big club may not have a spot available for him in the rotation once he's ready to return from the 60-day injured list, likely at some point in July.
May 2 2025The Royals transferred Marsh (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Friday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Luke Maile. Marsh re-started a throwing program last week after being shut down for a bit, but he will need several weeks to ramp up, so the move to the 60-day IL doesn't alter his timetable.
Apr 17 2025Marsh (shoulder) will be re-evaluated Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh's evaluation Tuesday will come a little bit after the initial seven to 10 days he was shut down for. This is because he suffered a minor setback as he was rehabbing his right shoulder at the beginning of April. More will be know on his timetable come Tuesday.
Apr 5 2025Marsh suffered a minor setback while rehabbing his injured right shoulder at the team's complex in Arizona, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Royals are going to shut Marsh down for 7-to-10 days before re-evaluating him, which will obviously delay when he makes his season debut. The 26-year-old righty didn't have a defined return timeline prior to his setback, though we might finally receive one once he's been cleared to restart his throwing program.
Mar 24 2025Marsh (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It was reported a few days prior that Marsh would begin the season on the injured list, so this transaction is simply procedural. The Royals have yet to announced a timetable for his return after he picked up a right shoulder injury Wednesday while pitching in a minor-league game.
Mar 22 2025Marsh (shoulder) is expected to begin the season on the injured list, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh experienced tightness in his right shoulder during his offseason throwing program and has been eased back into action this spring. He recently threw in a minor league game, so he is making progress. However, there's no clear timetable for his return.
Mar 19 2025Marsh (shoulder) pitched in a minor-league game Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Wednesday marks Marsh's first taste of competitive action this spring after spending most of camp working his way back from right shoulder tightness. He is now back on a normal spring training buildup, though it's still unknown if he'll be ready for Opening Day.
Mar 6 2025Marsh (shoulder) is scheduled to face hitters Sunday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Sunday will be the first time Marsh has gone up against a live opponent since arriving at camp with tightness in his right shoulder. The 26-year-old has been able to throw multiple bullpen sessions with no issues, so if his shoulder holds up after a few rounds of live BP, he may be cleared to appear in games before the end of spring training.
Mar 5 2025Marsh (shoulder) recently threw a bullpen session and said he felt great, the Kansas City Star reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh first experienced tightness in his right shoulder during his offseason throwing program and has been eased into spring training action. He's thrown several bullpen sessions in the past week but it's not clear when he'll appear in a spring training game. Marsh made 25 regular-season starts for the Royals last season, producing a 9-9 record, 4.53 ERA and 123:39 K:BB ratio over 129 innings.
Feb 25 2025Marsh (shoulder) is slated to throw another bullpen session Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh has been throwing side sessions for the past week as he works his way back from right shoulder tightness. He's reportedly responded well to the bullpen work and appears to be inching closer to facing live batters. Marsh made 25 regular-season starts for the Royals last season, producing a 9-9 record, 4.53 ERA and 123:39 K:BB ratio over 129 innings.
Feb 24 2025Marsh (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Monday, Jaylon Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh reportedly threw a side session Friday, though he noted Monday that he considers his latest throwing session his first of camp. "That was pretty much my first bullpen of the year," said Marsh. "I touched the mound once before I got shut down, so I wouldn't even count that as a bullpen. That was the first time I had gotten off the mound since last year." This is a promising step forward for the right-hander, who is in the process of recovering from tightness in his right shoulder. The club will likely see how he feels following Monday's bullpen before determining if he's ready to face live hitters.
Feb 21 2025Marsh (shoulder) is slated to throw a bullpen session Friday, MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh first experienced tightness in his right shoulder during his offseason throwing program and has been brought along slowly early in camp. Returning to mound work Friday offers him time to ramp up ahead of Opening Day, although he probably can't afford any setbacks. Marsh is competing for the final spot in the Royals' rotation.
Feb 12 2025Royals manager Matt Quatraro said Wednesday Marsh is recovering from right shoulder tightness that could delay when he will first face hitters, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh experienced the tightness during his offseason throwing program. He has resumed throwing every day and there doesn't seem to be much concern at the moment that it could be a long-term issue, but he will be a bit behind schedule. Even a slight delay for Marsh isn't ideal, as he is competing this spring to be the Royals' fifth starter. Marsh's primary competitor for that spot is Kris Bubic.
Sep 29 2024Marsh (9-9) picked up the win Sunday against Atlanta, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks across five innings. He struck out two. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh stepped into a starting role for the Royals' regular-season finale and came away with the victory. The right-hander yielded a homer to Gio Urshela in the third inning but was otherwise excellent. Marsh finishes the 2024 regular season with a 4.53 ERA and a 123:39 K:BB across 129 innings. He's expected to move back to the bullpen for postseason play.
Sep 28 2024Marsh will start in the Royals' regular-season finale against Atlanta on Sunday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh shifted to the Royals' bullpen after Michael Lorenzen (lower body) returned from the 15-day injured list Wednesday. However, with the Royals clinching a playoff spot Friday, Marsh will start in the regular-season finale, presumably to open the door for Cole Ragans to start in Kansas City's opening game of the AL Wild Card series. Across 25 outings (24 starts) this season, Marsh has an 8-9 record with a 4.65 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 121:39 K:BB across 124 innings.
Sep 24 2024Marsh is moving to the bullpen since Michael Lorenzen (hamstring) is returning to Kansas City's rotation Wednesday against Washington, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 26-year-old Marsh spent the past month in the Royals' rotation but will shift to a relief role after posting a 4.37 ERA 1.32 WHIP in 22.2 innings over five starts during that span. The right-hander has started in 24 of his 25 big-league appearances this season and has a 4.65 ERA and 121:39 K:BB over 124 innings.
Sep 18 2024Marsh (8-9) took the loss versus the Tigers on Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out five over 2.2 innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh needed 73 pitches (39 strikes) to get eight outs in a poor start. It's a step back after his one-run, 11-strikeout effort versus the Pirates last Friday, and it's the poorest of his five outings since he rejoined the big-league rotation in late August. Marsh is now at a 4.65 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 121:39 K:BB over 124 innings across 25 appearances (24 starts) this year. Michael Lorenzen (hamstring) lasted 3.1 innings in a rehab start last Friday with Triple-A Omaha, but he also experienced more than the usual soreness after that outing. The last spot in the Royals' rotation is due up again on the road versus the Nationals, and it's unclear if Marsh is in contention for that start, which would likely be his last of the regular season if he gets it.
Sep 13 2024Marsh (8-8) earned the win Friday over the Pirates, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out 11. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh was dominant Friday, holding Pittsburgh to a lone sixth-inning run while matching a career high with 11 strikeouts. In three starts since he was recalled from Triple-A, Marsh has allowed six runs while logging 21 strikeouts across 15.1 innings. His ERA sits at 4.52 through 121.1 innings this season with a 1.23 WHIP and 116:36 K:BB. Marsh will likely get one more start before Michael Lorenzen (hamstring) comes off the IL -- he's currently lined up to face the Tigers at home in his next outing.
Sep 7 2024Marsh allowed two runs on four hits and struck out five without walking a batter over five innings, taking a no-decision versus the Twins on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh threw 60 of 84 pitches for strikes in a decent start, but he received almost no help while he was in the game. The Twins put up both runs against him in the third inning, and it took until the eighth for the Royals to offer a response. Over his last three outings, Marsh has given up nine runs (seven earned) over 14.2 innings, which is a little more stability than he offered in July before he lost his spot in the rotation. Overall, he's at a 4.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 105:34 K:BB through 116 innings over 23 appearances (22 starts). Marsh is tentatively projected to make his next start at Pittsburgh.
Sep 6 2024Marsh is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Twins in Kansas City. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He'll be making his second straight turn through the rotation as a replacement for Michael Lorenzen (hamstring), who was placed on the injured list Aug. 28. Through 22 appearances (21 starts) for the Royals this season, Marsh has gone 7-8 with a 4.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 100:34 K:BB in 111 innings.
Sep 2 2024Marsh (7-8) took the loss Sunday against the Astros, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh held the Astros scoreless through three innings but came apart in the fourth after allowing home runs to Yordan Alvarez and Jon Singleton to give the Astros a 3-0 lead. The 26-year-old righty has now allowed a home run in seven of his last eight starts while reaching five innings in only half of them. Marsh holds a 4.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 100:34 K:BB in 111 innings and lines up for a key home start against the Twins over the weekend, assuming he sticks in the rotation.
Sep 1 2024The Royals recalled Marsh from Triple-A Omaha to start Sunday's game against the Astros. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander allowed four runs (two earned) over 4.2 innings during a spot start in a doubleheader Aug. 26 against the Guardians, and he'll re-enter the Royals rotation for Sunday's series finale in Houston. Marsh has a 4.67 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 95:33 K:BB across 106 innings this season, and he could see additional starts beyond Sunday with Michael Lorenzen (hamstring) recently landing on the injured list.
Aug 26 2024Marsh was returned to Triple-A Omaha after serving as the 27th man for Monday's doubleheader against Cleveland. He didn't factor into the decision, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out two across 4.2 innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: As expected, Marsh will be sent back to the minors after making a spot start in Game 2 of Monday's twin bill. He struggled to begin the outing, surrendering three runs (two earned) in the first inning, but he managed to settle down and keep his club in the game, allowing the Royals to ultimately walk away with a 9-4 victory. The 26-year-old owns a 4.67 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 95 strikeouts over 106 innings so far this season (21 appearances).
Aug 25 2024Marsh is scheduled to be called up from Triple-A Omaha to start the second game of Monday's doubleheader in Cleveland, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Royals are expected to designate Marsh as their 27th man for the twin bill, so he'll most likely be returned to Omaha immediately after his start Monday. Marsh will be rejoining the big club for the first time since late July, when he lost his spot in the rotation following the Royals' trade-deadline addition of Michael Lorenzen. Over his 20 outings (19 starts) with Kansas City prior to his demotion, Marsh accrued a 4.71 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 93:32 K:BB in 101.1 innings.
Jul 31 2024The Royals optioned Marsh to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh will lose his spot in the rotation and on the 26-man active roster after the Royals acquired Michael Lorenzen from the Rangers earlier this week and settled on him as their new No. 5 starter. The Royals have a doubleheader on Aug. 26 in Cleveland, so Marsh will be a candidate to return that day, if he's not needed before then. While Marsh is down in the minors, Royals manager Matt Quatraro said that the right-hander will scale back his workload and throw around 40-to-60 pitches in his outings at Omaha, per Anne Rogers of MLB.com.
Jul 29 2024Marsh did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-5 win over the White Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out three. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh entered this outing with a 7.80 ERA across 15 innings in July and failed to get out of the fifth against a feeble White Sox lineup. The Royals right-hander lasted just 69 pitches before being relieved as Chicago had knocked five singles and one double off the 26-year-old. After pitching to a 3.76 ERA in 55 innings over his first 10 starts, he has produced a 5.82 ERA across 46.1 innings since June 8. Marsh may not have a spot in the rotation any longer as Kansas City acquired Michael Lorenzen on Monday and have not announced the rotation plans for the upcoming weekend series in Detroit.
Jul 23 2024Marsh (7-7) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh's last outing was a one-inning relief appearance, presumably to get him some work just after the All-Star break. His return to a starting role didn't go very well, as he allowed at least five runs for the third time in his last seven appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.75 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 90:31 K:BB through 96.2 innings over 19 appearances (18 starts) this season. He's tentatively projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox, though Marsh would likely be in the most danger of losing his rotation spot if the Royals decide to add starting pitching before the trade deadline.
Jul 20 2024Marsh appeared out of the bullpen in Friday's 7-1 win over the White Sox, allowing two hits and striking out one over one scoreless inning. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh's last start before the All-Star break was July 10, so this relief appearance was likely just to get him back into his pitching rhythm in a lopsided game. The Royals haven't specified their pitching plans beyond this weekend, but it's safe to assume Marsh will take the hill at some point during their three-game series versus the Diamondbacks that begins Monday. Through 91.2 innings, Marsh has a mediocre 4.52 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 84:29 K:BB across 18 appearances (17 starts).
Jul 10 2024Marsh (7-6) earned the win over St. Louis in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out eight batters. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh gave up two homers but only one additional hit. The right-hander was atypically prolific in the swing-and-miss department, racking up 16 whiffs and tying his season high with eight punchouts. Marsh notched his second quality start over his past three outings, though his other appearance during that span was a poor one during which he allowed five earned runs across three frames. He's been very up-and-down during the campaign, giving up one or zero runs in six of 17 starts but five-plus runs on four occasions. That's led to a mediocre 4.57 overall ERA.
Jul 5 2024Marsh (6-6) took the loss against the Rays on Thursday, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks over three innings while striking out one. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh struggled out of the gate, issuing a walk to each of the first two batters he faced before allowing two runs to come across in the opening frame. He threw only 10 of his 17 first pitches for strikes and lasted just three innings before being relieved by Carlos Hernandez to open the fourth. It marked the second time this season in which Marsh was unable to go beyond three frames and the fourth time that he's surrendered at least five runs. He's also walked multiple batters in five consecutive starts.
Jun 28 2024Marsh (6-5) earned the win Friday against the Guardians, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After yielding 10 runs across 8.2 innings his previous two starts, the 26-year-old looked solid in this 91-pitch outing. The only blemish on Marsh's evening was a solo homer allowed to Jose Ramirez in the first inning. The Kansas City right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.19 en route to his first win since June 8 against Seattle. Marsh is currently slated to make his next start at home versus Tampa Bay.
Jun 23 2024Marsh (5-5) took the loss Sunday against Texas, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out four. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh tied his season high in hits allowed Sunday and failed to complete six innings for the fourth time in his last five starts. While he didn't surrender a home run, the Rangers did tag Marsh for three doubles. All three runs against Marsh came in the fourth inning, when he allowed three straight hits to open the frame before yielding a two-out, two-RBI single to Leody Taveras. After posting a 4-2 record and a 3.24 ERA across his first nine starts, Marsh has put up a 6.66 ERA with a 1-3 record in June. He'll look to close out the month on a high note during a projected start against the Guardians next weekend.
Jun 18 2024Marsh (5-4) allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After looking to have righted the ship with seven one-hit innings versus the Yankees in his last start, Marsh took another step back. He's given up at least four runs in four of his last five starts, and this one was his shortest outing of the campaign. The right-hander's ERA shot up to 4.37 with a 1.17 WHIP and 65:21 K:BB over 70 innings across 13 starts. Marsh is projected for a road outing versus the Rangers this weekend, but his recently volatility makes him a risky option in fantasy.
Jun 13 2024Marsh came away with a no-decision in Thursday's 4-3 win versus the Yankees. He threw seven shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out seven. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up a leadoff single to Juan Soto. Despite the bullpen failing to hold the lead, it was still the longest no-hit bid by a Royals pitcher this season. The 26-year-old righty dazzled his first two trips through the Yankees' potent lineup, and four of the seven strikeouts he recorded were against Soto and Aaron Judge. Marsh has been a solid rotation piece for the Royals this year with a 3.63 ERA through 12 outings, and he currently lines up to make his next start in Oakland next week.
Jun 8 2024Marsh (5-3) got the win vs the Mariners on Saturday. He went five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits while striking out eight. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh gave up a leadoff homer to J.P. Crawford but would settle in nicely, as he retired the next 13 batters in order. He struck out eight of those 13 hitters, which is a new season high and three away from his career high. Marsh ran into trouble in the fifth and wound up allowing four runs before being pulled, his third straight outing in which he's given up at least four earned runs. His ERA has gone from 2.72 to 4.05 over his last three starts, but he remains a key piece of the Royals' revitalized rotation this season.
Jun 1 2024Marsh (4-3) took the loss Saturday against the Padres, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out three. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh has now dropped back-to-back starts, allowing five runs in each, after posting a 1.71 ERA over his previous five outings (26.1 innings). Overall, his ERA is up to 3.76 on the season with a 1.15 WHIP and 46:17 K:BB across 55 innings. The 25-year-old Marsh will look to get back on track in his next start, currently slated for next week at home versus the Mariners.
May 27 2024Marsh (4-2) took the loss Monday against Minnesota, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh was done in by two swings of the bat -- a Jose Miranda two-run homer in the third and a Trevor Larnach three-run blast in the fifth. The Kansas City right-hander has been productive since returning from an elbow injury May 10, firing a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB in 23.1 innings. Overall, his ERA now sits at 3.24 with a 43:14 K:BB over 50 innings. Marsh is slated to face the Padres at home in his next start.
May 21 2024Marsh (4-1) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Tigers on Tuesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh completed six innings for just the second time this year, earning his second quality start in the process. He gave up a two-run triple to Matt Vierling and an RBI single to Colt Keith as the Tigers rallied in the fourth inning, but that was all of the damage. Marsh has limited opponents to one earned run or less in five of his eight starts this season, maintaining a strong 2.72 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB over 43 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Minnesota.
May 16 2024Marsh (3-1) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk over five innings as the Royals fell 4-2 to the Mariners. He struck out seven. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 102 pitches -- his biggest workload of the season -- but didn't get enough support from his offense or defense to avoid his first loss. A stint on the injured list after taking a comebacker off his pitching elbow hasn't derailed Marsh's momentum, as he's given up just two earned runs total over his last four starts while posting a 21:7 K:BB in his last 20.1 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Tigers.
May 10 2024Marsh did not factor into the decision Friday against the Angels, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh (elbow) looked sharp in his return from the injured list Friday night, tossing a formidable 85 pitches. The Kansas City right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.53 overall with his effort against the Angels. He also stayed hot after throwing 10 shutout innings in his two starts before the injured list stint. Marsh is scheduled to make his next start against the Mariners on the road.
May 8 2024Royals manager Matt Quatraro said Wednesday that Marsh (elbow) remains on track to return from the 15-day injured list to start Friday versus the Angels, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh was terrific in his lone rehab start with Triple-A Omaha on Sunday, striking out six over four shutout innings. The right-hander threw only 53 pitches in the outing, so he could be limited a bit from a workload perspective against the Angels. Marsh has missed the last couple weeks with a bruised right elbow.
May 7 2024Marsh (elbow) struck out six and gave up one hit and one walk over four shutout innings Sunday in his rehab start with Triple-A Omaha. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: According to Anne Rogers of MLB.com, Royals manager Matt Quatraro said prior to Sunday's rehab outing that Marsh was being targeted for 60-to-65 pitches, but the right-hander fell slightly short of that benchmark with 53 pitches (38 strikes). In any case, Marsh mowed down the Triple-A Iowa lineup in efficient fashion and looks as though he could be ready to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible Friday against the Angels. If the Royals instead decide to give Marsh one more rehab start to increase his pitch count, Daniel Lynch would likely be in store for a second turn through the rotation this weekend.
May 4 2024Marsh (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Matt Quatraro hinted Friday toward sending Marsh out on a rehab assignment, and the 25-year-old righty will now officially build back up with Omaha. Starting Sunday would put Marsh in line to return to Kansas City's rotation Friday against the Angels, though it's unclear if the Royals will want to keep him in the minors for multiple starts.
May 3 2024Manager Matt Quatraro said Friday that sending Marsh (elbow) on a rehab assignment before returning from the IL "would be a smart thing to do," Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh has been on the injured list since April 25 due to a bruised right elbow. He threw a bullpen session Monday and did so again Friday, though he will likely need to face live hitters before he makes his rehab appearance.
Apr 25 2024The Royals placed Marsh on the 15-day injured Thursday with a right elbow contusion. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh departed early in his start in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Toronto after being struck in the right elbow by a comebacker. X-rays came back negative on Marsh's elbow, and though he sustained nothing more than a bruise, the Royals decided it was best to shut him down for the next 15 days. The Royals called up Will Klein from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday to give the bullpen a fresh arm in the short term, but it's not immediately clear who will replace Marsh in the rotation.
Apr 24 2024X-rays on Marsh's right forearm came back negative Wednesday, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Marsh had to leave Wednesday's contest after taking a comebacker off his forearm in the fifth inning, though he was able to escape the incident with only a bruise. Manager Matt Quatraro said he expects the 25-year-old to be fine, and it seems Marsh still has a good chance to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Monday against the Blue Jays.
Apr 20 2024Marsh (3-0) threw 5.2 scoreless innings and earned the win Friday against Baltimore, striking out six batters while giving up three hits and two walks. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Despite the Orioles boasting one of the most dynamic offenses in baseball, Marsh has silenced them twice this year by allowing just one earned run across 12.2 frames while striking out 11 batters and walking three. His other two starts versus the Mets and White Sox didn't go nearly as well, but he'll look to establish some consistency during his next start against Toronto next week.
