Jun 21 2024Hoeing (hamstring) is scheduled to throw three innings at Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Hoeing has made a pair of appearances at Triple-A after resuming his assignment following a brief shutdown in late May. However, he's allowed four runs (three earned) with one strikeout across 2.2 innings with Jacksonville and will require at least one more outing before being activated.
Jun 17 2024Hoeing (hamstring) struck out two and allowed one hit and no walks over two scoreless innings in a rehab appearance Friday with Single-A Jupiter. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: According to MLB.com, the right-hander is expected to make another rehab appearance for Jupiter on Tuesday or Wednesday. After that, the Marlins could either activate him from the 15-day injured list or have him continue his minor-league assignment with a higher-level affiliate. Hoeing has been on the shelf since May 3 with a left hamstring strain and then felt renewed tightness when he first began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on May 21.
Jun 4 2024Hoeing (hamstring) is set to throw a live BP session at Single-A Jupiter this week, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Hoeing reported tightness in his hamstring during a rehab appearance in late May. After a couple of weeks off, Hoeing is working his way back to pitching in games, with a live BP session being one of the final steps before resuming his rehab stint.
May 25 2024Hoeing felt mild tightness in his hamstring after a two-inning rehab appearance May 21, and he's been working on strengthening exercises since, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right-hander originally appeared on track to rejoin the Marlins' bullpen as soon as this weekend, but that plan is out the window. Hoeing likely won't need too much time to ramp up once he's deemed ready to resume his rehab assignment, but the team will be cautious with him rather than risk aggravating the injury. He had been one of Miami's most effective relievers prior to landing on the shelf in early May, posting a 1.83 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB through 19.2 innings.
May 22 2024Hoeing (hamstring) began a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Jacksonville and struck out two while allowing one run on one hit and two walks over two innings. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Hoeing has been out since early May with a strained left hamstring. Since he hasn't been on the 15-day injured list for extended time, he'll likely be in store for a brief rehab assignment.
May 3 2024The Marlins placed Hoeing (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 2. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Hoeing was off to a hot start to the season with a 1.83 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB over 19.2 innings. It's unclear whether his left hamstring strain will keep him on the shelf beyond his return date of May 17. The Marlins recalled right-hander Darren McCaughan from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.
Apr 22 2024Hoeing gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless sixth inning Sunday to record his first hold of the season in a win over the Cubs. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 27-year-old right-hander has been one of the few bullpen arms for Miami to have success early in the season, and Hoeing sports a 1.29 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB through 14 innings. Sunday's hold was only the second of his career, but he could work his way into more consistent high-leverage spots if he continues to get the job done, and the likes of Andrew Nardi (9.31 ERA) and Anthony Bender (8.31 ERA) continue to struggle.
