May 4 2024Atlanta transferred Perdomo (elbow) to the 60-day IL on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was placed on Atlanta's 15-day IL at the beginning of the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last fall. He wasn't expected to pitch in 2025, and his move to the 60-day IL is to allow Atlanta to place right-hander Pierce Johnson on the 15-day injured list.
Mar 28 2024Atlanta placed Perdomo (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Thursday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo is recovering from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last fall and is likely to eventually be shifted to the 60-day IL when Atlanta needs to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. He's not expected to be ready to pitch in games until 2025.
Dec 7 2023Perdomo (elbow) signed a one-year, non-guaranteed split contract with Atlanta on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was non-tendered by Atlanta last month, a few weeks after being claimed off waivers from the Pirates, but he's back now to continue his Tommy John rehab with the reigning NL East champs. The 29-year-old underwent the reconstructive elbow procedure in October, so he's doubtful to pitch at all in 2024.
Nov 6 2023Atlanta claimed Perdomo (elbow) off waivers from the Pirates on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo underwent Tommy John surgery last month and will be sidelined until 2025, but Atlanta felt he was worth the roster spot, anyway. The big left-hander held a 3.72 ERA and 33:11 K:BB across 29 innings for the Pirates in 2023.
Nov 4 2023Perdomo underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow on Oct. 6, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It came as a bit of a surprise when it was announced Thursday that the Pirates placed Perdomo on waivers, but now we know why the move was made. He'll be out until 2025 and should clear waivers, at which point he can be outrighted.
Nov 2 2023Perdomo (elbow) was placed on waivers Thursday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo appeared in 30 games out of the Pirates' bullpen in 2023 and was effective in the role. He maintained a 3.72 ERA and a more impressive 33:11 K:BB across 29 innings. As a result he may be claimed off waivers, but if not, he can elect free agency.
Aug 24 2023Pittsburgh transferred Perdomo (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was placed on the 15-day IL this past Sunday due to left elbow discomfort and is now officially done for the remainder of the 2023 season. Rob Zastryzny will fill the vacated 40-man roster spot as he joins the Pirates' bullpen ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Cubs.
Aug 20 2023The Pirates placed Perdomo on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left elbow discomfort, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo presumably picked up the injury during his most recent relief appearance in the Pirates' 5-1 loss to Minnesota on Friday, when he was touched up for two earned runs on three hits and one walk while retiring two batters. The Pirates could send Perdomo in for additional tests on his elbow to determine if he's dealing with anything more than soreness, but the southpaw will be on the shelf for at least the next two weeks. Right-handed reliever Dauri Moreta (back) was brought back from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.
Jul 28 2023Perdomo's suspension was reduced to two games after a settlement was made between the MLBPA and MLB, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was initially suspended for three games after intentionally throwing at Manny Machado on Tuesday, but he's now set up to make an early return. The 29-year-old lefty has a 3.92 ERA and 0.97 WHIP through 20.2 innings this season and has recorded two holds in 21 appearances.
Jul 26 2023Perdomo was suspended three games by Major League Baseball for throwing at Manny Machado on Tuesday night, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo fired an up-and-in pitch to Machado in the bottom of the seventh inning, shortly after serving up a home run to Juan Soto. It was deemed an intentional plunking and Perdomo will not appeal the three-game punishment. Pirates manager Derek Shelton also received a one-game suspension and will serve it during Wednesday's series finale at San Diego. Perdomo is eligible to return Sunday.
Jun 3 2023The Pirates selected Perdomo's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo holds a 3.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 35:16 K:BB ratio through 22.2 innings with Indianapolis. He has a bit of MLB experience -- 19.2 innings with the Brewers between 2020-21 -- but has not been very successful. Chris Owings was designated for assignment to make room for Perdomo on the active roster.
Jul 30 2022Perdomo was designated for assignment Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was claimed off waivers by the Rays on July 19, but he'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster after Tampa Bay acquired David Peralta from the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Perdomo has struck out 13 in 5.1 scoreless innings over six Triple-A appearances this year and will likely remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
Jul 19 2022The Rays claimed Perdomo (hand) off waivers from the Brewers on Tuesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo has been rehabbing from a hand injury and began an assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League a week ago. The lefty will report to Triple-A Durham and looks like he'll be active right away for the affiliate when the minor-league All-Star break ends. Since he'll get a spot on the Rays' 40-man roster, Perdomo should have the opportunity to make his first MLB appearance of 2022 at some point over the next two months.
Mar 23 2022The Brewers optioned Perdomo (back) to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was one of five 40-man roster players that the Brewers demoted to Triple-A in the team's latest round of cuts from big-league camp. The right-hander didn't see any action for either the Brewers or in the minors after early August of last season while he contended with a strained back, and he's gone unused thus far during the Cactus League slate. With that in mind, it's unclear where Perdomo stands on the health front as the start of the minor-league season approaches.
Sep 1 2021Perdomo (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo first landed on the shelf with the back strain Aug. 11, so he won't be eligible to be activated until the playoffs, though it's unclear when exactly the left-hander is supposed to be healthy.
Aug 11 2021Perdomo was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a strain in his lower back. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The left-hander pitched during Tuesday's doubleheader and struggled, giving up a run on a hit and three walks while recording two strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning. The severity of the injury is unknown, and Perdomo will be eligible to return Aug. 21.
Aug 3 2021Perdomo was recalled from Triple-A Nashville prior to Tuesday's game against the Pirates, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: John Axford is headed to the injured list, so Perdomo will take his place in a low-leverage relief role. He has given up 11 earned runs (four home runs) in 15.1 MLB innings this season.
Jul 27 2021Perdomo was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo appeared in three games after being called up July 17, allowing one run and striking out six in 2.2 innings of work. His 6.46 ERA in 2021 doesn't exactly merit a return to the Brewers, but injuries in the bullpen could certainly give him another opportunity before the season ends. Devin Williams (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move Tuesday.
Jul 17 2021Perdomo was recalled from Triple-A Nashville prior to Saturday's game against Cincinnati. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: With Devin Williams landing on the 10-day injured list with right elbow discomfort, a spot opened up on the 26-man roster for Perdomo to rejoin the Brewers' bullpen. Perdomo spent over a month and a half in the majors in the early portion of the season, but was placed on the injured list in late May with a back strain, and was later optioned to Triple-A when he was activated. The left-hander will resume his big-league campaign with a 7.11 ERA and 19:12 K:BB.
Jul 1 2021Perdomo (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo had been on the injured list since May 30 due to a lower back strain, but he began a rehab assignment June 20. The southpaw made five appearances with the Triple-A club and allowed no hits and a walk while striking out 10 in five scoreless innings. He'll remain in the minors but could return to the Brewers as a low-leverage reliever at some point.
Jun 20 2021Perdomo (back) struck out the side in his lone inning of work during Sunday's rehab outing at Triple-A Nashville. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo was sharp in his first appearance at any level since May 24, but he wasn't as overpowering as his box-score line would indicate. He didn't induce a single swing and miss among his 18 pitches, as all 11 of the strikes he threw were either called strikes or fouled off. The Brewers may want to see Perdomo make another appearance or two in the minors before reinstating him from the 10-day injured list.
Jun 15 2021Perdomo (back) will join Triple-A Nashville on Thursday to begin his rehab assignment, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The lefty reliever has been sidelined since May 30 with a strained back, but he appears close to being activated, assuming the rehab goes smoothly. Perdomo struggled before the injury, posting a 7.11 ERA in 12.2 innings with the Brewers. He allowed three homers and walked 12 batters, so he'll certainly need to clean up those numbers if he's to stay with the big-league club for the rest of the season.
May 30 2021Perdomo has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a lower back strain. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo last pitched on May 24, so it's unclear when or how the injury occurred. The southpaw will head to the injured list for at least 10 days. Pitcher Alec Bettinger was recalled to take his roster spot.
Apr 12 2021Perdomo was recalled by the Brewers on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo made eight relief appearances for the Brewers this spring and allowed one hit and four walks while striking out 12 in 6.1 scoreless innings. He should serve as a low-leverage reliever for Milwaukee after right-hander Eric Yardley was sent down in a corresponding move.
Mar 19 2021Perdomo was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 26-year-old delivered four scoreless frames during spring training, but it wasn't enough to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. Perdomo should have a big-league opportunity at some point this season as the Brewers shuffle their bullpen pieces.
Aug 23 2020Perdomo was optioned to the alternate training site Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 26-year-old began the season on the injured list and was activated Aug. 11, but he struggled in three appearances with six runs allowed over 2.2 innings. Perdomo did record five strikeouts, but the seven walks were too much to overcome. He could rejoin the team later in the year if he can illustrate some improved command at the alternate site.
Aug 13 2020Perdomo (illness) was activated from the injured list Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Perdomo is ready to make his big-league debut after a positive COVID-19 test prior to camp set him back to start the season. The southpaw reached Triple-A for the first time in 2019 and posted a 5.17 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 86:38 K:BB across 54 innings. Eric Lauer was sent to the team's alternate camp site in a corresponding move.
Mar 27 2020Perdomo was optioned to Triple-A San Antonio on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 25-year-old was added to the 40-man roster in November and was in big-league camp prior to the suspension of spring training, but it appears he'll be beginning another season in the minors. Perdomo spent most of 2019 at San Antonio and posted a 5.17 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 86:38 K:BB across 54 frames.
