Jun 29 2025Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers and an additional run scored in Sunday's 12-5 win over the A's. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge served as the Yankees' DH on Sunday while nursing a sore back, according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. He certainly wasn't slowed down at the plate, however, logging his fifth multi-homer game this year to give him 30 long balls through 83 contests. Judge, who went just 4-for-23 (.160) in seven games prior to Sunday, is still slashing a robust .356/.458/.722 with 67 RBI and 73 runs scored across 369 plate appearances.
Jun 24 2025Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Monday in a loss to Cincinnati. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge accounted for the Yankees' only run with a 398-foot solo shot to left field in the first inning. The slugger is up to 28 long balls on the campaign, second only to Cal Raleigh (32) in all of MLB. Judge went through a rough 3-for-28 stretch at the plate in mid-June, but he's since gotten back on track, going 6-for-16 with two homers and six walks over his past five contests.
Jun 21 2025Judge went 3-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge entered Friday's game in the midst of a mini slump, having gone 4-for-31 (.129) with two solo home runs and a 51.4 percent strikeout rate over his last nine games. He appeared to regain his form and gave the Yankees a one-run lead in the third inning with a solo home run. Even with his recent struggles at the plate, Judge still leads the majors in batting average (.371) and OPS (1.207), and his 27 home runs and 61 RBI rank second and fourth, respectively.
Jun 13 2025Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge opened the game with three strikeouts against Garrett Crochet before taking him deep in the ninth inning. After going six games without a home run to open June, the superstar has launched five long balls over his last five contests. He continues to lead the majors by a wide margin with a 1.265 OPS and is now tied for the league lead in homers (26) while adding 60 RBI, 65 runs scored and six steals across 303 plate appearances.
Jun 12 2025Judge is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Kansas City. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's the first day off this season for Judge, who has homered four times over his last three contests. Cody Bellinger will patrol right field Thursday as the Yankees try to complete the sweep.
Jun 10 2025Judge went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an RBI single during Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Royals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge went yard for a second consecutive game, tagging Noah Cameron for a two-run shot in the first inning to start what would end up being a rout. The 33-year-old is in the midst of a monster season, having hit 24 home runs through 65 games. He could push for a career high in homers, but he'd have to clear the 62-homer milestone he set in 157 games back in 2022. Judge has almost as many three-hit games (10) as he does hitless outings (12) in 2025.
Jun 8 2025Judge went 3-for-4 with two two-run home runs and an additional run scored during Sunday's 11-7 loss to Boston. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's monstrous 2025 season got even bigger Sunday, as the 33-year-old slugged his 22nd and 23rd home runs of the campaign. The performance ended what may be considered a homer drought by Judge's standards, as he hadn't logged a roundtripper in six games. It was his third-longest stretch without a home run this season. Judge has reached base three times in four of his last five outings, going 9-for-18 (.500) with two doubles, six runs scored and five RBI during that span. He's slashing .396/.493/.771 in 288 plate appearances this season.
Jun 6 2025Judge went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 9-6 win over the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge helped ignite an early Yankees outburst, scoring twice in the first two innings and adding his first steal since May 20. While the slugger hasn't homered through five games in June, he's reached base in seven of his last nine plate appearances and is hitting .397 on the year. He also boasts a 1.254 OPS with 21 home runs, 51 RBI, 59 runs scored and five steals across 279 plate appearances.
May 31 2025Judge went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in an 18-2 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The game got so far away from New York that both teams put a position player on the mound in the ninth inning, but Judge did his usual thing, mashing a pair of long balls for the Yankees' only runs. The superstar slugger's homers totaled 832 feet, and Judge now has three home runs (all solo) through the first two games of the World Series rematch, though Los Angeles has won both contests. Judge is up to 21 long balls on the season -- third in baseball behind Shohei Ohtani and Cal Raleigh, both of whom have hit 22 -- and continues to hover around a .400 batting average. He's hitting .398 through 57 games and leads the majors by a wide margin with a 1.268 OPS.
May 30 2025Judge went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Dodgers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has an 11-game on-base streak, going 13-for-38 (.342) with four homers, seven RBI and three doubles in that span. His long ball Friday opened the scoring, and it was the first of four homers for the Yankees in the loss to open the interleague series. For the season, Judge is batting .392 with a 1.236 OPS, 19 homers, 48 RBI, 52 runs scored, four stolen bases, 15 doubles and two triples across 56 contests.
May 24 2025Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 13-1 win over the Rockies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge put the Yankees on the board with a solo home run to right-center field in the first inning, and he came around to score a second time in the fifth. It's the fourth time this season that he has smacked homers in back-to-back games and is up to 18 homers, which leads the majors.
May 23 2025Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games, adding five homers and 11 RBI in that span. The outfielder's blast Friday briefly gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning, though the Rockies pulled ahead in their half of the frame. Judge is up to 17 homers, 45 RBI, 47 runs scored, four stolen bases and a superb .398/.487/.754 slash line across 50 games. He is on pace to top the 50-homer mark for the fourth time in his career and the third time in four years.
May 20 2025Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and another run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Texas. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge extended the Yankees' lead to five runs in the eighth inning when he took Caleb Boushley deep for a two-run home run that barely made it over the right-field fence. Judge has six home runs since the beginning of May and 16 on the season, ranking third in the majors behind Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Schwarber, both of whom have 17 homers this year.
May 14 2025Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge put the Yankees ahead with his eighth-inning blast. He's on a six-game hitting streak, going 12-for-25 (.480) with three homers and seven RBI in that span. He's also struck out 11 times over the last seven contests, but that hasn't stopped him from making a massive impact when he connects. The superstar slugger is batting .412 with a 1.279 OPS, 15 homers, 41 RBI, 40 runs scored, three stolen bases, 12 doubles and two triples over 43 games this season.
May 10 2025Judge went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 11-7 loss to the A's. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Sacramento native put on a show for his hometown fans with a pair of solo shots, taking JP Sears deep in the fourth inning before crushing a Justin Sterner fastball 433 feet to straightaway center field in the sixth. Judge now leads the major leagues in homers (14), RBI (37) and OPS (1.258) as he looks to repeat as AL MVP.
May 7 2025Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Tuesday's 12-3 win over San Diego. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge played a small part in New York's 10-run seventh inning (he drew an intentional walk and scored a run), but he made a bigger mark earlier in the contest, belting a solo shot in the fourth inning to give New York its first run. The superstar slugger continues to put up video-game-like numbers; he leads the majors by a wide margin with a 1.275 OPS, .772 slugging percentage, .412 batting average and .503 OBP while tying two other players for the league lead in both homers (12) and RBI (34). Judge has reached base safely in 35 of 36 games this season, including in 32 consecutive contests.
May 3 2025Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The reigning AL MVP extended his hitting streak to 13 games by taking Zack Littell deep in the first inning, Judge's 11th long ball of the season. During the streak, he's batting .500 (26-for-52) with four homers, 11 runs and 11 RBI, and all four blasts have come in the last six contests.
Apr 30 2025Judge went 3-for-3 with one walk, a two-run homer and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Batting out of the three spot Wednesday, Judge put the Yankees on the board with a two-run homer off Cade Povich in the first inning. Judge reached base safely on each of his next three at-bats, including a single in the seventh inning that brought Oswald Peraza home. After logging one home run over a 20-game span in April, Judge has gone deep in three of his last four outings with six RBI over that span.
Apr 19 2025Judge went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 10-8 extra-inning loss to the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge drove in two runs on a single in the fourth inning and added another RBI base hit in the ninth. The 32-year-old has recorded hits in eight of his past 10 games, six of which have been multi-hit efforts. On the season, he's slashing an eye-popping .397/.505/.607 with seven home runs, 25 RBI, 21 runs scored and two steals across 95 plate appearances.
Apr 16 2025Judge went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and an additional run scored in Wedensday's win over the Royals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's highlight of the night came on a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning, which gave the Yankees a 4-3 lead. The big fly snapped a 10-game homer dry spell by the superstar slugger, who is still bating a ridiculous .426 (20-for-47) with three round trippers, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and two stolen bases across his last 13 outings.
Apr 11 2025Judge went 0-for-1 with two walks in Friday's 9-1 rain-shortened loss to the Giants. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees weren't able to generate much offense in a game that was halted in the sixth inning due to inclement weather, but Judge managed to reach base twice by drawing walks in each of his first two plate appearances. Judge leads the American League in both home runs (six) and RBI (20) and is slashing .347/.458/.776 across 59 plate appearances to start the season.
Apr 4 2025Judge went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run, a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 9-4 win over the Pirates. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: This was Judge's second game in a row with both a homer and a steal. He's taken the early lead in long balls this season with six over seven contests while racking up 17 RBI, 12 runs scored, two steals and a 4:10 BB:K. Judge is also hitting .379, having hit safely in six of seven games so far. He's exceeded the 50-homer mark three times in his career, including twice in the last three seasons, and the outfielder should continue to be a massive source of power in 2025.
Apr 3 2025Judge went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 9-7 win over Arizona. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge delivered the first blow in Diamondbacks right-hander Merrill Kelly's nightmarish evening with a three-run homer in the first inning, later singling to drive in another run during the fourth frame. The superstar slugger is off to a ridiculous start in 2025, hitting .417 with five long balls, three doubles, 15 RBI and one stolen base through 24 at-bats (six games).
Mar 30 2025Judge went 1-for-1 with three walks and a two-run homer during Sunday's 12-3 win against the Brewers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The reigning AL MVP launched his fourth homer of the season during the opening frame, and the Milwaukee pitching staff didn't give him much to hit the rest of the afternoon. Judge struggled in the early going last year with a .674 OPS through his first 27 games, but he's already got six extra-base hits and 11 RBI while going 6-for-11 through three games in 2025.
Mar 29 2025Judge went 4-for-6 with a double, three home runs, four runs scored and eight RBI in Saturday's 20-9 win over the Brewers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The eight RBI were a career high for Judge, who took former teammate Nestor Cortes deep in the first inning before belting long balls off Connor Thomas in the third and fourth. It's the third time in his career Judge has gone yard three times in a game, and he narrowly missed a fourth homer in the sixth inning. After slugging 58 homers en route to the AL MVP Award last season, Judge is off to a hot start to his 2025 campaign as he looks to repeat.
Mar 22 2025Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a sacrifice fly Saturday in a Grapefruit League loss to Philadelphia. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's been a rough spring for Judge, who is slashing just .138/.278/.276 over 36 plate appearances. However, the slugger was at least able to avoid going through the exhibition slate without a long ball when he belted a 381-foot, two-run blast to left field in the third inning Saturday. Fantasy managers may remember that Judge had an awful first month last season, batting just .180 with three long balls, but he still finished the campaign with a career-best 1.159 OPS, along with 58 homers and a career-high 144 RBI, so there's no reason to fret about his tepid Grapefruit League stats.
Feb 27 2025Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Judge will make his Grapefruit League debut Saturday against the Astros, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been healthy early on in camp, but the Yankees wanted to ease him into game action this spring after he played 172 games between the regular season and postseason in 2024. The two-time MVP is slated to play right field and bat second for the Yankees this season.
Feb 26 2025Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in an interview with Foul Territory TV on Wednesday that he plans to bat Judge second this season. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge hit in the two hole regularly in 2023 before moving to the three spot in 2024 while Juan Soto batted second. With Soto moving across town, Judge will now return to the second spot in the Yankees' lineup in 2025. Boone also seemed to imply that he'll likely hit either Cody Bellinger or Jazz Chisholm third, at least against right-handers. He has not decided on a leadoff hitter, but Chisholm and Jasson Dominguez seem to be the top candidates.
Feb 20 2025Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he expects Judge to make his Grapefruit League debut March 1 or shortly thereafter, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge isn't dealing with an injury during camp, but the Yankees plan to hold the star outfielder out for the first week and a half of exhibition play to let players vying for roster spots pick up more at-bats. After Judge played 172 games between the regular season and postseason in 2024, Boone is mindful of building in some extra maintenance this spring for the reigning American League MVP as he prepares for what should be another hefty game count in 2025, assuming health prevails. Judge should help his chances of staying healthy by handling a less active role on the defensive end during the upcoming season, as he's expected to move back to his more natural right field position after he made the majority of his starts in center field in 2024 while former teammate Juan Soto patrolled right field.
Dec 9 2024Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Monday that it "makes sense" for Judge to move back to right field next season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge shifted to center field in 2024 to accommodate Juan Soto, but with Soto headed to the Mets, Judge can now man his more familiar right field position. Manager Aaron Boone mentioned Jasson Dominguez as the leading candidate to start in center field in 2025, although Dominguez could play left field if the Yankees acquire a center fielder.
Nov 21 2024Judge was named the 2024 American League Most Valuable Player on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's hardly surprising to see Judge take home his second MVP trophy after slashing .322/.458/.701 with 144 RBI in the regular season -- all of which represent career-best marks for the 32-year-old slugger. He also added 58 home runs on the year, which falls just four short of the Yankees' single-season record he set in 2022. After receiving all 30 first-place votes, Judge is now the first Yankee to win MVP unanimously since Mickey Mantle did so in 1956.
Oct 31 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two walks in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge sent Yankee Stadium into a frenzy in the bottom of the first inning when he followed a one-out Juan Soto walk with a two-run homer to the opposite field. He also added a double and a pair of free passes. Judge's heroics were ultimately too little, too late as the Yankees blew a 5-0 lead, partly because of a key Judge misplay in the outfield amid a terrible defensive inning for the Yankees, and the Dodgers went on to capture the World Series title. He clubbed three home runs and drove in nine in 14 games this postseason, but Judge also batted just .184 with a 31.3 percent strikeout rate.
Sep 29 2024Judge was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Pirates. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Given that Juan Soto and Jazz Chisholm are also off, it sounds like the Yankees just opted to rest their star slugger at the last minute. The game was delayed due to poor weather, so it makes sense to not have Judge out there in poor conditions. Judge went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts Saturday.
Sep 27 2024Judge is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Pirates. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees are rolling out several backups in Friday's series opener, one day after clinching the American League East. Trent Grisham will handle center field and bat seventh.
Sep 26 2024Judge went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Thursday's 10-1 win over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge homered for the fifth game in a row, giving him 58 long balls on the year. He's driven in eight runs during his sudden power surge, which has him within striking distance of his second 60-homer season if he can keep it going during this weekend's three-game series versus the Pirates. Judge has added a .325/.461/.708 slash line with 144 RBI, 122 runs scored, 36 doubles and 10 stolen bases over 157 contests in an MVP-caliber campaign.
Sep 24 2024Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The former MVP took starter Dean Kremer deep in the fourth inning, launching a 407-foot solo shot to center field, marking the third consecutive game he's gone yard. Judge has picked up the homer pace over the past 10 games, as he's hitting .387 (12-for-31) with five long balls, three doubles, nine runs scored and 13 RBI over that span. In what is bound to be another hardware-filled season for the 32-year-old, he is now slashing .323/.459/.699 with 56 homers, 119 runs scored, 139 RBI and 10 steals in 690 plate appearances.
Sep 22 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, two walks and two total runs scored in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is up to 55 homers this season, with four of them coming over his last nine games. In that span, he's added 12 RBI, three doubles and two stolen bases while going 11-for-28 (.393). The star outfielder is up to a .323/.458/.695 slash line with 138 RBI, 118 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and 36 doubles over 154 games in one of the best years of his career. A potential return to the 60-homer mark would be tough to pull off with just six games left.
Sep 19 2024Judge went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to Seattle. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had a relatively quiet game by his standards, but he did reach a personal milestone with his 10th theft of the campaign. It's just the second time in nine big-league seasons that the slugger has reached that mark. Judge's career high in stolen bases in a campaign is 16, which he established in 2022 during the season in which he also set an American League record with 62 home runs.
Sep 18 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, four RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge plated all four of his runs in the first two innings with a double in the first and a single in the second to give him his second four-RBI effort in his last four games and fifth such game of the year. Judge is now up to 136 RBI for the season, which is 26 more than anyone else in the league (Shohei Ohtani follows him with 110). Judge seems destined for another MVP season with a slash line of .323/.456/.692 with 53 homers, 113 runs, nine steals and a 123:160 BB:K in 664 plate appearances. Judges 123 walks currently lead baseball as well, as he's got two more than teammate Juan Soto.
Sep 15 2024Judge went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, two walks and a stolen base Sunday against the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After going 16 games without a homer, Judge has now hit two over the past three games to reach 53 on the season. Judge also added his ninth stolen base, marking the second time this year he's gone yard and swiped a bag in the same game. While he's fallen off the pace to reach 60 home runs, all it will take is one of his patented hot streaks to challenge that threshold for the second time in his career. Through 148 games, Judge is slashing .321/.453/.687 with 53 homers, 132 RBI, 112 runs, nine steals and 122 walks across 659 plate appearances.
Sep 13 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in Friday's win over the Yankees. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was stuck in the longest power slump of his career, going 16 straight games since his last homer Aug. 25. He finally broke out of it with a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning. It was his 52nd home run of the year and 18th since the All-Star break. Despite the recent slump, Judge is slashing .321/.455/.688 with 130 RBI and 86 extra-base hits through 146 games.
Sep 8 2024Judge went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Saturday's 2-0 win against the Cubs. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: That's 11 straight contests without a long ball for Judge, who slugged seven homers in six games prior to the sudden power outage. The 11-game homerless stretch is the longest of the campaign for the star outfielder and has stalled his pursuit of a second career 60-homer season, though his ability to get hot and tally long balls in bunches puts the accomplishment still within reach. Judge has struggled as a whole during the power drought, slashing .175/.327/.250 with a 34.7 percent strikeout rate, though he does have three doubles, three RBI and two stolen bases.
Aug 25 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's 10-3 win over the Rockies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's recent power binge is impressive by even his standards -- he's gone deep 10 times over his last 13 contests. In that span, he's batting .426 (20-for-47) with 17 RBI and 13 runs scored. With Sunday's impressive effort, Judge is up to 51 homers this year, crossing the half-century mark for the third time in his career. He's added a magnificent .333/.465/.736 slash line, an MLB-best 122 RBI, 104 runs scored, 30 doubles and six stolen bases over 129 contests.
Aug 24 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday in a 3-0 win against Colorado. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge went deep off Kyle Freeland in the sixth inning to extend his streak of games with at least one long ball to four. The slugger is now one homer shy of reaching 50 for the third time in his career -- he'll be the fifth player in MLB history to accomplish that feat, joining Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez. Judge is on pace for 62 home runs this season, which would tie the AL record he established in 2022.
Aug 23 2024Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Thursday in a 6-0 win against the Guardians. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge kicked off the scoring for New York with a solo blast in the fourth frame. He's gone deep four times in his past three contests and seven times over his past 10 games to push his total to 48 home runs on the season. As a testament to the slugger's ferocity at the plate, Cleveland walked him with one out and the runners on the corners in the fifth inning, electing to load the bases rather than give him a chance to hit despite being down 1-0 at the time. That type of treatment could become even more common down the stretch as opponents look to cement playoff berths and postseason positioning. As it is, Judge ranks second in MLB with 104 walks -- including a league-leading 16 free passes -- on the season.
Aug 22 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Guardians. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The AL MVP candidate launched a two-run homer off Joey Cantillo in the third inning before adding a solo shot off Eli Morgan in the seventh. Judge is surging again, going yard six times in the last nine games while slashing an absurd .471/.561/1.118 with 12 RBI, and with 47 long balls through 125 games on the season, he's on pace to reach 60 homers for the second time in his career.

The 32-year-old continues to crush the ball in August, hitting safely in nine of his past 10 games with six multi-hit efforts and four home runs. He became the fastest player in major-league history to reach the 300-homer mark, doing so in his 955th game to easily surpass Ralph Kiner (1,087 games) to that milestone mark. Judge is batting .500 (20-for-40) with four homers over 12 games in August, lifting his slash line to a stellar .333/.467/.707 with 43 long balls, 110 RBI, 95 runs scored, six stolen bases, 28 doubles and a triple through 120 contests.

The slugger is up to 42 long balls on the season, most in MLB. He's on pace to finish the campaign with 57 home runs, which would be tied for the seventh-most in American League history for a single season.

He has homered six times in his past 10 games and is so good he was intentionally walked in just the second inning. On the year, the 32-year-old leads the majors with 41 homers, 103 RBI and a 1.154 OPS across 492 plate appearances.
Jul 31 2024Judge went 3-for-4 with a run and two walks in a 7-6 extra-innings win against the Phillies on Wednesday. Jul 12 2024Judge went 1-for-1 with a solo home run and four walks in Friday's 4-1 win over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge led off the third inning with a solo shot off Cade Povich, his league-leading 33rd of the season. Otherwise, Baltimore pitchers wanted nothing to do with Judge -- he'd draw walks in his other four at-bats. The homer was Judge's first since July 2. He'd been in a bit of a slump coming into Friday, going just 4-for-31(.129) in his previous eight games. Still, it's been another excellent year for the 32-year-old outfielder -- Judge is now slashing .306/.429/.674 with 84 RBI and 71 runs scored through 414 plate appearances.

He added a single later in the contest to notch his third straight multi-hit game, and the slugger has gone 7-for-12 with five RBI during that stretch. Judge had a monstrous June overall, slashing .409/.514/.864 with 11 home runs, 37 RBI, 25 runs and three stolen bases over 25 games.
Jun 29 2024Judge went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI in a 16-5 win against the Blue Jays on Friday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It was unusual for Judge rack up three hits without any going for extra bases -- coming into Friday, 54 of his 88 hits on the season had been of the extra-base variety. Nonetheless, the slugger's ninth-inning, two-run single resulted in a sixth game with at least one RBI over his past 10 contests. Judge has been red hot over that stretch, slashing .382/.462/.853 with five home runs, 16 RBI and nine runs scored.
Jun 26 2024Judge went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Mets on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though the Yankees suffered through an ugly loss to their crosstown rival, Judge kept chugging along, smashing a 400-foot, two-run homer in the sixth inning for his team's only runs. The long ball was the slugger's 10th through 21 games in a monstrous June during which he's also produced 32 RBI. Judge is the league leader with 30 home runs on the campaign, and he's just the third player in MLB history to reach 30 homers before the All-Star break three times in his career, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Jun 23 2024Judge will serve as the designated hitter and bat third for Sunday's series finale against Atlanta. For the month of June, Judge is slashing a blistering .381/.494/.857 with eight home runs and 25 while boasting a 1.351 OPS.
Jun 22 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Saturday's 8-3 win over Atlanta. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge generated runs in a variety of ways. His first-inning blast put the Yankees ahead, and he drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to tack on an insurance run. Even one of his outs, a groundout into a double play, allowed a run to score in the third. Judge has three homers over his last five contests and is up to 28 long balls this year as he continues to pace the majors. He's added a spectacular .301/.425/.692 slash line with 70 RBI, 59 runs scored and five stolen bases through 77 games, a level of production quite similar to his MVP campaign from 2022.
Jun 20 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's loss to the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge did his best to bring the Yankees back from a large deficit early with a two-run shot in the third and an RBI single in the fifth, but his effort would fall well short as Baltimore's offense exploded for 17 runs. The long ball was the outfielder's 28th of the season, which leads the majors, and he's now recorded at least one RBI in seven of his last 11 games. Judge is batting .418 in June following Thursday's performance with seven home runs, 22 RBI and 17 runs scored.
Jun 19 2024Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Judge (hand) won't be in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Orioles, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: X-rays and a CT scan on Judge's left hand came back negative after he exited Tuesday's 4-2 win over Baltimore when he was hit by pitch. According to Meredith Marakovits of YES Network, Boone said that Judge took some swings in the batting cage Wednesday and is expected to avoid a trip to the injured list, but the slugger is still sore and will miss at least one start. Judge likely won't be available off the bench Wednesday, but the hope is he'll be able to return to action for Thursday's series finale. Trent Grisham will replace Judge in center field Wednesday.
Jun 18 2024Judge said Tuesday that X-rays and CT scans on his left hand came back negative, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had to leave Tuesday's game against Baltimore after taking a fastball off his hand, but he now appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 32-year-old slugger also said he aims to return without missing any games, though he is dealing with a bit of swelling which could sideline him for a day or two, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News.
Jun 16 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had a bit of a quiet week, going a modest 6-for-25 (.240) with two homers and five RBI over six contests against the Royals and Red Sox. He also struck out nine times, including three in Sunday's game. It's likely just the natural ebb and flow of offense in a long season, as the outfielder is still leading the majors with 26 long balls while adding 64 RBI, 56 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .299/.425/.686 slash line over 73 contests.
Jun 11 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an RBI single during Tuesday's 10-1 win over Kansas City. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge launched his fourth homer of his last three starts, plating Juan Soto on a two-run shot in the seventh inning. The center fielder has also generated multiple hits in four straight games and eight of his last 10 contests. Lost in the mix of his absurd power streak -- which has seen his ISO surpass .400 -- Judge is striking out at a 24.1 percent clip this season, which would be a career low if it stands.
Jun 10 2024Judge is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's the first day off of the season for Judge, who had started each of the Yankees' first 67 contests. Trent Grisham will start in center field Monday.
Jun 8 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and a walk Saturday in a loss to the Dodgers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It was a humbling game for the Yankees as a team, but Judge continued his offensive domination of the league, hitting a solo shot in each of the third and ninth innings. The slugger has reached base safely in 33 straight contests, hitting an even .400 (46-for-115) with 17 homers, 39 RBI, 37 runs, four stolen bases and a 32:33 BB:K over the jaw-dropping stretch. Judge leads the majors with 23 total long balls on the campaign and ranks second with 57 RBI.
Jun 5 2024Judge went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk and five RBI in Wednesday's 9-5 win against Minnesota. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge broke the game open in the fifth inning, lacing a bases-loaded triple to left field to give New York a 7-0 lead. It was the slugger's first triple since 2019 and just the fifth of his career as a big-leaguer. Judge had already plated a run with a groundout in the first inning, and he added an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the sixth frame to give him his first five-RBI performance of the campaign. He now ranks second in the majors with 54 runs batted in this season.
Jun 1 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Giants. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: May is over, but Judge's power surge is still in full effect. He's slugged four homers and added eight RBI over his last three games, and he's up to six homers over eight contests during the Yankees' current road trip through California. Judge has 21 long balls, 47 RBI, 42 runs scored, two stolen bases and a .287/.414/.662 slash line through 60 contests this year, a level of production that should have him firmly in the MVP conversation.
May 31 2024Judge went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over the Giants. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge ended May with a bang, earning his first multi-homer game of the year while reaching the 20-homer mark. He did a ton of damage to opposing pitchers this month, going 36-for-97 (.371) with 14 long balls, 12 doubles and 27 RBI over 28 contests. The slugger is up to a fantastic .282/.408/.648 slash line with 45 RBI, 40 runs scored and two stolen bases over 59 contests in 2024.
May 26 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Padres. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge wasted no time in getting the Yankees on the board Saturday, launching a two-run homer off Dylan Cease in the opening frame. The star outfielder would also double to lead off the fourth before coming around to score for a second time, marking the third time in his last four games that he's scored two runs. Judge has also homered in four straight games now and is up to 17 long balls on the campaign, which ties him with Kyle Tucker and Gunnar Henderson for the league lead.
May 24 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 8-0 win over the Padres. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is dialed in at the plate with a homer in three straight games and 10 long balls over his last 18 contests. In that longer span, he's gone 25-for-60 (.417) with 18 RBI and 10 doubles. On the year, Judge has 16 homers, 37 RBI, 35 runs scored, two stolen bases, 17 doubles and a .275/.411/.619 slash line over 53 contests. He's enjoyed good health and a productive lineup around him in 2024, and while a repeat of his 62-homer campaign from 2022 is unlikely, he's still among the best sluggers in the majors.
May 23 2024Judge went 2-for-2 with a solo homer, a double, two walks and a second run scored in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge extended the Yankees lead to 2-0 with a 414-foot shot off Luis Castillo in the third inning, his 15th long ball this year, tied for third-most in the majors, and his second in as many days. Judge has been on a tear this month, going 27-for-63 (.429) with nine homers and 17 RBI in his last 19 games. After a slow start to the season, he's boosted his slash line to .276/.416/.611 with 35 RBI, 34 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.
May 22 2024Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge saw an eight-game hitting streak snapped Tuesday, but he's reached base in 10 straight contests. During the on-base streak, he's gone 15-for-34 (.441) with five homers, nine RBI, 12 runs scored, six doubles and an 11:9 BB:K. The slugger has been strong at the plate all year, slashing .268/.405/.585 with 14 long balls, 34 RBI, 32 runs scored, 16 doubles and two stolen bases over 51 contests. Judge's 24.7 percent strikeout rate is the lowest mark of his career, which should allow him to continue to succeed as long as he keeps it in check.
May 20 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-2 win against the White Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge capped the scoring in the contest with one of the shortest homers of his career -- a 339-foot poke to the short porch in right field. Regardless of the distance, it was another addition to his recent collection of his homers, as he's now gone deep seven times over his past 13 games. The impressive run has elevated Judge into a tie for third place in the majors with 13 home runs on the campaign.
May 18 2024Judge went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, an additional run and three walks in Friday's 4-2 win against the White Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge belted a 433-solo shot to left field in the first inning to plate the first run of the game. Chicago pitchers didn't bother with him thereafter, walking the slugger in each of his remaining three plate appearances, with one of the free passes being intentional. After a subpar start to the season, Judge has turned things around of late, slashing .475/.604/1.150 with six homers, nine doubles, 12 RBI, 14 runs and a 12:7 BB:K over his past 12 contests.
May 15 2024Judge went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, three doubles, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Twins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge opened the scoring with his first-inning solo shot and added an RBI double in the seventh. The outfielder has locked in with power over his last 10 games, going 16-for-36 (.444) with five homers, seven doubles, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in that span. He was batting .207 at the end of April, but he's up to a .255/.386/.540 slash line with 11 homers, 29 RBI, 24 runs scored two stolen bases and 13 doubles over 44 contests. It's good to see Judge bounce back after the slow start, and getting him in a groove makes the Yankees' already-strong offense even more dangerous.
May 13 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge ripped a two-run shot in the fifth inning for his 10th long ball of the year. Through his first 24 games this season, he registered a .663 OPS with three home runs and 31 punchouts. Over his last 18 appearances, Judge is back to his usual self with a 1.146 OPS, seven homers and a 14:16 BB:K. The recent hot streak has brought his slash line to .235/.369/.497 through 187 plate appearances.
May 9 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Houston on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's eighth-inning solo shot was a massive one, as it traveled an estimated 473 feet. The slugger has turned on his power of late, swatting three homers and driving in six runs over his past four contests. He's now tied with Juan Soto for the team lead with nine home runs and ranks second with 25 RBI on the campaign.
May 6 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 victory versus Detroit. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: A day after he was ejected from a game for the first time in his career, Judge belted a solo shot off Tarik Skubal in his first at-bat of the contest. The slugger added a sixth-inning double to notch just his second game with multiple extra-base hits this season. Judge is still slashing a meager .220/.350/.439 on the campaign, but he's batting .355 with three of his seven homers and seven of his 20 RBI over his past nine games.
May 4 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI before being ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the seventh inning of Saturday's 5-3 win over the Tigers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Home plate umpire Ryan Blakney was generous with strike calls on pitches off the plate all day, and Judge's muttering as he walked back to the dugout after getting rung up for a second time got him tossed. Per Joe Trezza of MLB.com, it was the first ejection of Judge's career -- at any level of baseball. He still made an impact in the win, and while the 32-year-old slugger has had a slow start to the season, he's produced three multi-hit performances, two homers and six RBI in his last eight games.
Apr 29 2024Judge will start in left field and bat third in Monday's game in Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge received some reps in left field during spring training, but this is the first time he's made a start at the position in a regular season game since 2016 when he was with Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes-Barre. He could see additional action in left field during the series against the Orioles while Alex Verdugo is on paternity leave. Trent Grisham is getting a rare start in center field Monday.
Apr 28 2024Judge went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's 15-5 win over the Brewers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge launched a solo shot off Tobias Myers in the top of the first inning, later adding two more base knocks, including a two-RBI single in the fifth inning. The homer was his sixth of the season and he's now gone deep in back-to-back games and three times in the last five contests overall. After a slow start to the season, Judge is batting .211 with six home runs, 18 RBI, 12 runs scored and a stolen base over 109 at-bats in 29 games.
Apr 25 2024Judge went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the A's. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Joe Boyle appeared to have struck Judge out in the second inning but was charged with a balk on the third strike instead, and the Yankees slugger made him pay by crushing his next pitch over the fence in right field. Judge had gone just 4-for-31 (.129) over the prior eight games without a long ball, so the reprieve may have been just what he needed to kick things into gear. On the season, he's slashing .191/.319/.383 with four homers and 13 RBI through 25 contests.
Apr 14 2024Judge went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to Cleveland. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is still looking to find his groove in 2024, but he's collected an extra-base hit in each of his last three games. His three-run shot in the third inning off Guardians starter Logan Allen was his third homer of the year and first since April 6. Judge is slashing .207/.373/.448 with eight extra-base hits and a 16:15 BB:K through 16 games.
Apr 7 2024Judge went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run and two walks in Saturday's 9-8 win against Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge set the tone early for New York, bashing a 425-foot, two-run homer off Blue Jays ace Kevin Gausman in the first inning. The long ball was the slugger's second of the season, both of which have come over his past three contests. Judge went 3-for-24 with just one RBI over his first six games of the campaign but appears to be heating up, going 4-for-9 with the two homers and five RBI over his subsequent three contests.
Apr 3 2024Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-5 win over Arizona. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got the Yankees on the board with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth and later added an RBI double in extra innings to give New York a 6-4 lead. The long ball was Judge's first of the season, while it also marked his first multi-hit performance of the 2024 campaign. The star center fielder had just three hits coming into the contest and will look to build off of Wednesday's showing when the Yankees host the Blue Jays in their home opener.
Mar 20 2024Judge (abdomen) is starting in center field and batting third for the Yankees in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game versus the Pirates, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's return to spring games kept getting pushed back as he battled through an abdominal issue, but he's finally back in the lineup for the first time since March 10. The 31-year-old slugger fully expects to be ready to go for Opening Day on March 28 against the Astros.
Mar 18 2024Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Judge (abdomen) "should be good to go" for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates following Tuesday's team off day, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone had previously projected Judge to rejoin the spring lineup this past Saturday, only for the Yankees to push back the slugger's return. With that in mind, Judge's status will still warrant monitoring Wednesday to ensure he is in fact playing against Pittsburgh. Judge has been slowed by the abdominal issue for nearly a week, but on a positive note, he was able to take part in some hitting work after an MRI returned negative. He took on-field batting practice Friday and Saturday, then hit off a tee and pitching machine Sunday. Judge didn't resume taking BP on Monday as expected, though he was spotted taking part in outfield drills. Boone's comments would seem to suggest that Judge's absence from batting practice Monday was merely just a late change of plans rather than the result of the 31-year-old experiencing any sort of setback during his recent workouts.
Mar 17 2024Judge (abdomen) hit off a tee, hit soft-toss pitching and hit off a pitching machine Sunday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Contrary to what manager Aaron Boone had predicted Wednesday, Judge didn't make his return to the Yankees' Grapefruit League lineup Saturday versus the Blue Jays, but the 31-year-old was still able to take some steps forward this weekend in his recovery from abdominal discomfort. He's been able to hit in some fashion each of the past three days, as he took live batting practice Friday and Saturday in addition to Sunday's workout. Judge has said that he would have been ready to play Saturday if the regular season was already underway, but the Yankees understandably erred on the side of caution with the slugger and held him out. He could draw back into the Yankees' spring lineup within the next few days.
Mar 16 2024Judge (abdomen) is expected to take batting practice Saturday morning, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: As expected, Judge is out of the Yankees' Grapefruit League lineup Saturday against Toronto, but he will be able to get some work in. Judge has stated he would be playing right now if it were the regular season after an MRI on his abdomen came back negative. It seems like he will be able to return to exhibition play in the near future.
Mar 15 2024Manager Aaron Boone said Judge (abdomen) will "probably not" play in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge went through his normal workout routine and hit in a batting cage Friday, but the Yankees apparently won't return him to game action Saturday as previously expected. Boone also said Judge is "fine," per Chris Kirschner of The Athletic, so the 2022 AL MVP could seemingly still play within the next couple days.
Mar 14 2024Judge (abdomen) said Thursday that he would "definitely" be in the lineup if it were the regular season, Max Goodman of the Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge hasn't played in a few days while dealing with an abdominal/core injury, but tests came back clean and the slugger seems unconcerned, reiterating that his goal is to be ready for Opening Day. He is slated to do some hitting Friday, and if that goes well Judge will return to Grapefruit League play Saturday.
Mar 13 2024Judge is dealing with pain in his oblique and still has problems with his right big toe, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge missed nearly two months of last season due to a torn ligament in his toe, and his oblique injury comes in addition to the abdomen soreness Judge reported Monday. It's unclear if Judge's new issues will prevent him from returning to Grapefruit League play Saturday as expected, but the Yankees still expect Judge to be ready for Opening Day.
Mar 12 2024Judge will not swing a bat until later this week after undergoing an MRI on his abdomen Monday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The good news is the MRI came back negative, but Judge will exercise caution in staying out of the batting cage for a few days, saying "there's no real need to push it." Judge doesn't appear too concerned about the injury and still anticipates being ready for Opening Day. Still, his latest injury brings a cloud of uncertainty in the middle of fantasy draft season.
Mar 11 2024Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Judge is "mid-spring beat up" and is not expected to return to Grapefruit League play until Wednesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The skipper didn't elaborate any further as to what Judge is dealing with, but the fact that he expects him to be back in a couple days is a good sign. Judge -- who is expected to mostly play center field this season for the Yankees -- is 2-for-14 with a double in six games so far this spring.
Feb 23 2024Judge worked out at first base over the offseason and hasn't ruled out playing there this season if he's needed, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has worked out at first base before and played the position during his freshman season at Fresno State, so it's not totally foreign to him. That said, it seems like it would only happen in an emergency situation. For fantasy purposes, Judge picking up first base eligibility would appear highly unlikely.
Feb 20 2024Judge said Tuesday that his right big toe injury will likely require "constant maintenance" for the remainder of his career, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge suffered a torn ligament in the toe when he collided with the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium last June, an injury which wound up costing him about two months of action. The issue healed without surgery and Judge noted Tuesday that his toe feels good, but it sounds like it will take constant work to keep it that way. Judge is expected to see the majority of his playing time in center field this season, at least until Jasson Dominguez (elbow) returns.
Jan 19 2024Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in an interview Friday with Foul Territory that Judge will "probably" bat third this season. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone didn't commit to anything, but for the time being he's leaning toward putting Juan Soto in the two spot and Judge at three. Judge batted second for all but two of his starts last season, but an addition of a hitter the caliber of Soto requires some adjustments.
Dec 7 2023Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday that Judge's toe injury is "a resolved issue," Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge tore a ligament in his right big toe when he crashed through a wall June 4 at Dodger Stadium and spent about two months on the injured list, but it has healed on its own without surgery, and he should be 100 percent steering into the 2024 campaign. The 31-year-old slugger projects to serve as the Opening Day center fielder for New York, with recent trade acquisitions Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo flanking him in the corners. Trent Grisham will be an active fourth outfielder.
Dec 6 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Judge being the team's everyday center fielder in 2024 is "in play," Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is still slated for right field duty as things currently stand, but the Yanks appear nearing a trade for Juan Soto, and Soto's addition would necessitate the move. While Judge has played plenty of center field over the last three seasons, he started just 16 games there in 2023 and missed a significant chunk of time with a toe injury. It certainly would not be the ideal defensive alignment, but the Yankees appear willing to deal with it in order to add Soto's bat.
Oct 1 2023Judge is not in Sunday's lineup against the Royals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge hit .284 with eight home runs, 19 runs and 19 RBI in 26 games in September. He will head to the bench along with Gleyber Torres and Giancarlo Stanton in the season finale.
Sep 27 2023Judge went 2-for-3 with two homers, four RBI and a third run scored in Wednesday's win over the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After Judge sat out of Tuesday's contest, he returned to the lineup with a bang Wednesday, driving in four of the Yankees' six runs with a pair of two-run homers. The 31-year-old outfielder now has five home runs in his last four games after hitting just one in his prior 17 contests. Judge is up to 37 homers on the season, tied for eighth-most in the league, despite spending nearly two months on the IL. He's batting .269 with a 1.029 OPS, 77 runs scored and 75 RBI across 445 plate appearances.
Sep 26 2023Judge is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The reigning AL MVP will head to the bench after a run of 22 straight starts, though his absence from the lineup isn't a surprise given manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Judge's spot in the lineup will be determined each day as he continues to play through a toe injury. There's no reason for the Yankees to push the 31-year-old during the final week of the season with the playoffs already out of the picture, though it's unclear at this point if the club is considering shutting Judge down entirely.
Sep 25 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that he will have discussions with Judge each day this week about the slugger's playing time the rest of the way, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone indicated Sunday that there were no plans to shut Judge down for the rest of the season, but he seemed less definitive about the possibility when asked again a day later. Judge is making a 22nd consecutive start Monday and has received just three days off since returning from a toe injury in late August. The toe isn't 100 percent healed, though, and with the Yankees officially eliminated from playoff contention it's possible the team and Judge will eventually decide it's best for him to be shut down. Judge isn't expected to require surgery on the toe.
Sep 23 2023Judge went 4-for-4 with a double, three home runs and six RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Diamondbacks. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He took rookie Brandon Pfaadt deep in the third and fifth innings before launching a Slade Cecconi fastball over the right-field fence in the seventh. It's the second time in 2023 that Judge has gone yard three times in a game, and he's the first Yankee in franchise history to produce multiple three-homer games in a season. Despite missing about a third of the year due to injuries, the 2022 AL MVP has slugged 35 homers with 70 RBI in only 100 contests this season.
Sep 15 2023Judge went 1-for-2 with a grand slam and three walks in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader split with Boston. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge went 0-for-4 in the matinee but struck quickly in the nightcap, following a first-inning walk with a grand slam in the second. The Red Sox mostly avoided him thereafter, walking the slugger in two of his final three plate appearances, including once intentionally. Prior to the grand slam, Judge had been mired in a slump that saw him go 5-for-34 without a homer or RBI over his previous 10 games.
Sep 3 2023Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 victory versus Houston. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge belted his 31st homer of the campaign in the third inning with a 428-foot solo shot off Hunter Brown. The slugger has opened September with a long ball in two straight contests, reaching base four times in nine plate appearances during that span. However, strikeouts continue to be an issue -- Judge fanned three times Saturday and has registered a 40.3 percent strikeout rate over his past 16 contests.
Sep 2 2023Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-2 win against Houston. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge produced the final run of the contest with his 426-foot solo blast to center field in the fifth inning. The long ball was his 30th of the campaign, marking the third straight year he has reached that total. Friday's contest was just the 81st of the season for Judge, as he missed nearly two months due to a toe injury. The slugger's 9.4 AB/HR this year is just shy of his 9.2 AB/HR last season, when he set an American League record with 62 long balls.
Aug 31 2023Judge is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Tigers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will receive a day of rest for the afternoon contest as the Yankees go for a sweep. He's struggled over the last week, going 2-for-23 with 14 strikeouts across his previous six games. Jake Bauers will play right field Thursday in Judge's stead.
Aug 28 2023Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's win over the Tigers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The solo shot gave Judge his seventh homer in 10 games. However, the 6'7" slugger hasn't been able to record any other hits during that stretch, posting a .179 batting average with a 38.5 percent strikeout rate across 39 at-bats. Despite missing the better part of two months due to a toe injury, Judge is now just one home run shy of reaching 30 for the fourth time in his career.
Aug 23 2023Judge went 3-for-4 with three home runs and six total RBI in a 9-1 win against the Nationals on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge came into Wednesday in the midst of a quiet August during which he was batting just .200 with a modest (by his standards) four homers and six RBI over 19 games. The reigning AL MVP made plenty of noise against the Nationals, sandwiching a second-inning grand slam between solo shots in the first and seventh frames. The three-homer game was the first of Judge's career, and the six RBI tied his career-best mark. Despite missing over 50 games this season due to injury, Judge has belted 27 long balls, fifth most in the American League.
Aug 20 2023Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Boston on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge took Kutter Crawford deep in the sixth inning to break up a potential no-hitter. The long ball was the second in as many days for Judge, who is just over three weeks removed from being activated following a lengthy stay on the injured list. The slugger is slashing .250/.429/.500 with five home runs, eight RBI, 10 runs and a 20:17 BB:K over 20 contests since his return.
Aug 19 2023Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's loss to the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though Judge's eighth-inning blast didn't make much of a dent in New York's six-run deficit, it may have helped him reset after striking out in four of his previous seven plate appearances. The slugger leads New York with 23 homers this season and is tied for second with 47 RBI despite missing over 50 games due to injury. Judge won't get anywhere close to the record-setting 62 long balls he blasted last year, but his current 10.2 AB/HR isn't far off his 9.2 rate during that historic campaign and would rank as the second-best mark of his career.
Aug 15 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast Tuesday that Judge won't require surgery on his right big toe. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had indicated previously while he was still on the injured list that he might need offseason surgery to repair the ligament tear in his toe. However, it would appear that an operation isn't going to be necessary and the toe should heal on its own. Judge is sporting a .260/.456/.460 batting line with three home runs and five RBI in 16 games since returning from the IL.
Aug 12 2023Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in a 9-4 win over Miami on Friday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge clobbered a ball over the center field wall for a 464-foot solo shot in the third inning. It was his second homer in his past three games and his 22nd of the campaign. Since coming off a lengthy stay on the injured list July 28, Judge has slashed .256/.473/.513 with three home runs, five RBI and seven runs. Pitchers aren't giving him much to hit, as he's posted a 29.1 percent walk rate (against a 21.8 percent strikeout rate) over that stretch.
Aug 8 2023Judge went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-1 victory over the White Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge clubbed homer No. 21 Tuesday, taking reliever Tanner Banks yard for a solo shot in the eighth inning. After starting out August 2-for-20 (.200), Judge has hit 3-for-6 (.500) over his last two games and has reached safely seven times in 10 plate appearances.
Aug 4 2023Judge is not in the lineup Friday against the Astros. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has mostly been serving as the Yankees' designated hitter since his July 28 return from a ligament tear in his right big toe. He still has some soreness in that area and will likely continue to need regular days off down the stretch. Giancarlo Stanton is filling the DH role Friday and Billy McKinney, Harrison Bader and Isiah Kiner-Falefa will start across the outfield.
Aug 1 2023Manager Aaron Boone said Judge is serving as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Rays since the outfielder is managing some soreness in his toe, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's the second straight day of DH duty for Judge, but there's apparently not much concern over the soreness since he's still in the starting nine. The 31-year-old is 3-for-7 with a home run, six walks, two RBI and two runs in three games since he returned from the injured list last week.
Jul 30 2023Judge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Aaron Boone previously indicated the reigning AL MVP would sit one game in Baltimore this weekend after being reinstated from the injured list Friday, and the skipper followed through on that statement after Judge started at designated hitter Friday and in right field Saturday. The Yankees don't have a scheduled off day until Aug. 10, and Judge may sit a couple more times during that stretch since he's fresh off the injured list. Jake Bauers will shift to right field Sunday while Greg Allen receives a start in left.
Jul 29 2023Judge went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Saturday's 8-3 victory over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After missing nearly two months with a toe injury, Judge hasn't skipped a beat, reaching safely three times in both games since returning and hammering a two-run homer off Taylor Wells in the third inning of Saturday's tilt. The long ball marked Judge's 20th homer in 51 games and likely provided a much-needed boost to fantasy managers who have been awaiting his return. Though he looks to be back in form, Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media reported Saturday that manager Aaron Boone planned on having Judge play in only one of the Yankee's two games this weekend, meaning the reigning AL MVP will likely watch Sunday's contest from the sidelines.
Jul 28 2023Judge (toe) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The expectation had been that Judge would be activated Friday, although the Yankees never confirmed the move prior to the transaction being made. It's official now, though, as the slugger will rejoin the lineup after missing the last eight-plus weeks with a ligament tear in his right big toe.
Jul 28 2023Judge is starting at designated hitter and batting second Friday against the Orioles in his first game back from the injured list. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's possible the Yankees will keep him in the DH spot for a while as he eases back into action following a lengthy absence due to a ligament tear in his right big toe. With Judge at DH, Giancarlo Stanton will patrol right field.
Jul 26 2023Judge (toe) is on track to be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Yankees manager Aaron Boone wouldn't confirm that Judge would be back Friday when asked Wednesday, but Sherman says that's the plan, barring any setbacks. Judge played in a simulated game Wednesday at the team's spring training complex in Florida for the second day in a row and reports of his rehab in Tampa have been "positive," per Sherman. The reigning American League MVP has been sidelined since early June with a sprained right big toe.
Jul 25 2023Judge (toe) played five innings in a simulated game at the Yankees' spring training complex in Florida on Tuesday, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The plan is for Judge to up the volume in another simulated game Wednesday. The Yankees are taking the slugger's recovery from a ligament tear in his right big toe day by day, and it has not yet been determined whether he will require a rehab assignment. Judge has been sidelined since early June.
Jul 23 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Judge (toe) will likely take more simulated at-bats in live batting practice in the coming days and is without a clear target date for resuming game action, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Earlier Sunday, Judge took two simulated at-bats against right-hander Jonathan Loaisiga (elbow) in what marked another step forward in the recovery process for the reigning American League MVP, who is working his way back from a ligament tear in his right big toe. Judge didn't suffer any setbacks during the workout, but he looks poised to get in a few more live BP sessions before the Yankees pinpoint a date for his return from the 10-day injured list. Judge could be send to a minor-league affiliate for a brief rehab assignment prior to being activated.
Jul 21 2023Judge (toe) will face live pitching Sunday, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He will go up against rehabbing teammate Jonathan Loaisiga (elbow). Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that based on how Sunday's session goes, the Yankees should be able to determine a timeline for Judge's return to the lineup. The reigning American League MVP has been sidelined since early June with a ligament tear in his right big toe.
Jul 19 2023Judge (toe) will run the bases Wednesday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It will be the first time he's done so since he suffered a torn ligament in his right big toe back in early June. The Yankees and Judge have resisted placing a timetable on the slugger's return, but optimism is building that it could be soon. It is not clear whether he will need a rehab assignment before being activated.
Jul 18 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday during his appearance on the "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that Judge (toe) is "getting close" to a return from the 10-day injured list. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: When asked whether the beginning of the July 25 series against the Mets was a realistic target for Judge to return, the skipper didn't rule it out. While Boone provided far from a clear timetable for Judge, the proclamation does point to real progress as the slugger works his way back from a torn ligament in his right big toe. The reigning American League MVP began taking batting practice last Friday and has also done some light running. Running the bases at full effort would probably the last hurdle Judge needs to clear, and it's uncertain when he might be ready for that. Judge has been sidelined since early June.
Jul 14 2023Judge (toe) took on-field batting practice at Coors Field on Friday and also did some running, though not at full speed, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Last year's AL MVP seems to be making progress, but regardless he remains unwilling to talk about a possible target date for his return to the Yankees. While Judge said he did not feel limited in any way during his batting practice session, he's still wearing orthotic insoles to aid with the torn ligament in his right big toe. Manager Aaron Boone did not want to put a target date on Judge's return either.
Jul 4 2023Judge (toe) has begun doing some hitting off a tee and taking soft toss, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: That's in addition to playing catch, which he started last week. Judge said Tuesday that he's walking around a little better but admits that his injured right big toe still "doesn't feel great." Surgery after the season is a possibility, per Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record, although he's ruled out having it in-season. While the reigning American League MVP is making some progress, it appears he's still quite a ways off from a return.
Jul 3 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that he expects Judge (toe) to incorporate additional baseball activities other than throwing prior to the All-Star break, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone wasn't sure what exactly Judge would be cleared to do, but any sort of progression would be welcome. The reigning American League MVP started throwing last Wednesday as he works his way back from a ligament tear in his right big toe. There remains no timetable for Judge's return to the Yankees' lineup.
Jun 30 2023Judge (toe) played catch in the outfield Friday in St. Louis, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: This marks the third straight day of on-field work for Judge, who is traveling with the Yankees on their current road trip. The big slugger has been out since early June due to a ligament tear in his right big toe and there remains no timeline for his return, but it's positive news that he is now able to do some form of daily activity.
Jun 29 2023Judge (toe) was seen playing catch on the field prior to Wednesday's 11-0 win over the Athletics, Michael Wagaman of the Associated Press reports. "There's a lot of steps we've got to take to get back to going on the field," Judge said. "So this is just another step along the way." ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: While playing catch doesn't represent a major step forward in his recovery from the ligament tear he suffered to his right big toe June 3, it's at least the first sign of baseball activity for Judge since he sustained the injury. Rather than being able to run at full speed and move around in the outfield without issue, manager Aaron Boone said that the biggest test for Judge will be ensuring that he can swing the bat comfortably, as the toe issue could affect the slugger's ability "to torque and turn on that back foot." Once Judge is able to resume hitting without any restrictions, Boone said it would be a good indication that the reigning American League MVP is nearing a return from the 10-day injured list.
Jun 24 2023Judge confirmed Saturday that he has a torn ligament in his right big toe, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's injury was previously described as a sprain, but it appears the All-Star slugger's injury is more severe than initially thought. Judge also stated that he still has pain when he walks, which is not a reassuring sign for fantasy managers. Now that we know Judge is battling a damaged ligament, he shouldn't be expected to return anytime soon.
Jun 22 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Judge (toe) has progressed to pool/balance/strength work, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge seems to be progressing nicely after experiencing a "breakthrough" following his second platelet-rich plasma injection last week. If all goes according to plan, Judge could begin throwing and light hitting before the end of the week.
Jun 20 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Judge (toe) experienced "a little bit of a breakthrough" after his second platelet-rich plasma injection, Deesha Thosar of Fox Sports reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The first PRP injection Judge was given earlier this month didn't knock out all of the swelling in the outfielder's right big toe, but it would appear the second shot did the trick. While the slugger is not yet cleared for baseball activities, Boone believes Judge is "starting to turn a corner" in his recovery. Judge has been sidelined for a little more than two weeks.
Jun 16 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Judge got another PRP injection in his sprained right toe Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone also revealed that there's a second ligament -- beyond the toe sprain -- that has been bothering the Yankees' slugger. Judge landed on the 10-day injured list June 7, retroactive to June 4, and there is currently no timetable for his return. Or even when he might resume baseball activities. This absence seems likely to push into July.
Jun 13 2023Judge (toe) said Sunday that while he's "feeling better every single day," he doesn't "think there's a need for a timeline" for his return, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated last week that a timetable for Judge's return likely would be available following the weekend after the inflammation in his injured toe had time to calm down. However, it doesn't sound like Judge or the team will be setting a target date anytime soon. "Things like this take time," Judge said. "It's just such a unique situation. If it was like a hamstring or something with the shoulder, there's a little better foundation to know when to come back. We'll be back."
Jun 9 2023Judge said Thursday that the swelling in his right big toe is improving, and he has decided to not wear a walking boot, the Associated Press reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Fantasy managers who have been left with a massive hole on their roster due to Judge's placement on the IL will take any good news they can get about the slugger, and this qualifies as a positive development. There's still no clarity about his possible return date, however. Manager Aaron Boone suggested Wednesday that the Yankees could have an idea of Judge's timeline by the end of the week.
Jun 7 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that the team won't have a timetable for Judge (toe) until after this weekend, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is on the injured list with a right big toe sprain and is "pretty sore" after receiving an injection in the toe, per Boone. The club presumably is waiting for the injection to take effect before they have a better idea as to how much time the star outfielder could miss.
Jun 6 2023X-rays revealed Tuesday that there's no break or fracture of Judge's big right toe, but a sprain will cause him to be placed on the 10-day injured list before Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Bob Klapisch of The New York Times reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was out of the lineup again Tuesday against the White Sox after crashing into a wall Saturday during a victory over the Dodgers. The 2022 MVP will miss at least a week while recovering, and there's no timetable for his return. Judge has been outstanding again in 2023 with a 1.078 OPS and 19 homers over 49 games, and the Yankees, along with fantasy GMs, won't have his right-handed power bat in their lineup until the middle of June at the earliest.
Jun 4 2023Judge (toe) will undergo additional testing Monday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge sustained a toe injury when he crashed into the wall during Saturday's game against the Dodgers, and he sat out Sunday's series finale. He'll be able to rest during the team's scheduled day off Monday, but he isn't yet sure whether his toe is broken, which would likely require a trip for him to the injured list. A better idea of his status should come into focus once the results of his tests are known.
Jun 3 2023Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Saturday in a 6-3 victory versus the Dodgers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge shined in the nationally televised game, launching a solo shot to left field in the sixth inning and stalling what had the makings of a Dodgers rally by robbing J.D. Martinez of a certain extra-base hit with a spectacular catch in the eighth. Judge crashed through the right-field gate on the play, but he appeared to be no worse for the wear, saying after the contest, "We're feeling good. I think the fence got most of it," per Erik Boland of Newsday. Judge has five homers over his past six games and is up to an AL-leading 19 long balls on the campaign despite a stint on the injured list in early May.
May 31 2023Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge tacked on to the Yankees' lead with a solo blast to left center to put his team up 8-2. He now has four homers over his last three games and has six RBI over that span. Judge is now standing alone at second in the majors with 18 home runs through 46 games, which is the same amount he had through 46 games last season as well. The 31-year-old is on pace for another historic season and is slashing .303/413/691 with 39 RBI, 41 runs and a 33:59 BB:K to go with a league-leading 1.104 OPS across 201 plate appearances.
May 30 2023Judge went 3-for-4 with one double, two home runs, three RBI and an additional run in Monday's 10-4 victory over the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: For good measure, he also stole a homer from Teoscar Hernandez late in the game with a leaping grab at the wall. Judge now has 17 long balls on the year, tied for second in MLB. The superstar's 1.087 OPS is also tops in baseball, and he's hitting .357 with 11 homers since coming back from injury May 9.
May 28 2023Judge went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over San Diego. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got the Yankees on the board Sunday with a solo shot off Yu Darvish in the bottom of the first inning before adding a second RBI on a base hit in the third. In 18 games this month, Judge is batting .333 with nine home runs and an outstanding 1.261 OPS. The reigning MVP is now slashing .291/.398/.633 with 15 homers, 36 runs scored and 35 RBI through 158 plate appearances this season.
May 23 2023Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Tuesday's victory over Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: With the Yankees down 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth with one out, Judge stepped up to the plate and hit an equalizing 403-foot homer off Felix Bautista to send the game into extras. The reigning AL MVP has been raking in his last nine games, hitting .429 with eight long balls, 17 RBI and 10 runs scored.
May 21 2023Judge is not in the starting lineup Sunday versus the Reds. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will get a day off after he went 5-for-8 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored over the first two contests of the series. The outfielder's hit streak has now reached eight consecutive games, and he's batting .452 with seven long balls, two doubles, 16 RBI, nine runs and a stolen base over that stretch. Jake Bauers will slide over to right field while Isiah Kiner-Falefa enters the lineup in right field and bats eighth in the series finale with Cincinnati.
May 20 2023Judge went 4-for-4 with one double, three RBI and one run scored in Saturday's victory over the Reds. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though Judge is heralded for his power, he displayed his versatility as a hitter Saturday, collecting a triad of singles to go along with a double. He paired up with fellow slugger Anthony Rizzo to combine for six of the team's seven RBI in the win, as Judge individually brought Ben Rortvedt in to score twice. Judge has now recorded a hit in eight consecutive games and is hitting 14-for-31 (.452) with seven home runs, 16 RBI and nine runs scored in that span.
May 18 2023Judge went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Thursday's victory over Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge clobbered the sixth pitch of the game to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead. He crushed Toronto pitching with four homers in the four-game series, taking his season total to 12. Judge has been excellent in May with a .303/.442/.788 slash line. He has a .993 OPS, 28 RBI and 28 runs in 36 games this season.
May 17 2023Judge went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He launched an eighth-inning slider from Erik Swanson over the batter's eye in straightaway center field, putting the Yankees in the lead for good. Judge is locked in at the plate and has five homers and 10 RBI in his last four games, pushing his slash line on the season up to .270/.370/.590 with 11 long balls and 26 RBI in 34 contests.
May 16 2023Judge went 2-for-2 with three walks, a two-run home run and solo home run in Monday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has hit safely in three straight games, totaling four home runs, eight RBI and four walks during that stretch. The reigning AL MVP had been in a mild slump before his recent hot stretch, but he's still slashing .274/.376/.581 with 10 home runs, 24 RBI and 26 runs scored across 33 games (141 plate appearances).
May 14 2023Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers and a walk in Saturday's 9-8 win against Tampa Bay. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was instrumental in bringing New York back from an early six-run deficit. He swatted a two-run shot to bring the team to within a pair of runs in the fifth inning, then gave the Yankees their first lead with another two-run blast in the sixth. The big performance snapped an uncharacteristic power drought for the slugger, who hadn't homered in his previous 12 games. Judge is up to eight homers and 20 RBI while slashing .264/.359/.536 with two thefts through 131 plate appearances on the campaign.
May 11 2023Judge went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs in Wednesday's 11-3 win over Oakland. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge returned from a stint on the injured list Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and two RBI. In his second game back, he put together his fourth three-hit performance of the season. Through 118 plate appearances, the reigning AL MVP is slashing .273/.364/.515 with six homers, six doubles, 16 RBI, 21 runs and two stolen bases.
May 9 2023Judge (hip) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will make his return to the lineup after missing just under two weeks while recovering from a strained right hip. The 31-year-old went 5-for-14 with three doubles, three RBI and two runs scored over his final four games before going down with the injury. Judge has produced a .261 average with six homers, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases over 92 at-bats in 26 games, and he'll look to take advantage of the plus matchup against Oakland on Tuesday night.
May 6 2023Judge (hip) continues to hit and run and remains on track to be activated Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been out since April 27 with a strained right hip, but his absence won't stretch on much longer. His .261/.352/.511 slash line in 26 games prior to his injury was perhaps below his sky-high expectations but still represents a strong performance.
May 5 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Friday that the club is currently targeting Tuesday against the Athletics for Judge (hip) to return to the lineup. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge an, threw and did defensive work at the #Yankees' minor league complex in Tampa on Friday. The outfielder is dealing with a strain at the top of his hip, but a return to the lineup against the Athletics on Tuesday would mean he only misses one extra day on the injured list. As long as as there are no setbacks, the Yankees and fantasy managers should get the reigning 2022 MVP back in their lineups at some point next week.
May 2 2023Judge (hip) hit in the cage pregame Tuesday and the Yankees are hopeful he'll be ready to return on May 8 when first eligible, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge probably could have played through his hip issue, but the Yankees decided to play it safe and put him on the IL on Monday. However, it sounds like there's a good chance the slugger will be back in action following a minimum absence.
May 1 2023New York placed Judge (hip) on the 10-day injured list Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees waited as long as they could to see if Judge could recover from the hip issue without needing a stint on the IL, but the outfielder will end up missing a week-plus after he didn't make as much progress as the team had hoped heading into Monday's series opener with the Guardians. Since Judge's IL stint is retroactive to last Friday, he could be activated as soon as May 8. The Yankees recalled Franchy Cordero from Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre to replace the reigning American League MVP on the 26-man active roster.
Apr 30 2023Judge (hip) will not return to the lineup for the Yankees for Sunday or Monday's games, but he could play Tuesday against the Guardians if he's not placed on the injured list, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees are still waiting to make a decision on whether to place Judge on the injured list, but at the very least the reigning MVP will miss at least two more games while dealing with the strain at the top of his hip. New York would be able to backdate Judge's injured list stint by three days, so he would likely miss only another week if the Yankees deem that to be a necessary move.
Apr 29 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters before Saturday's game against the Rangers that Judge has a slight strain at the top of his hip, and the team will wait a couple of days to see if he can continue to improve before placing him on the injured list, Jack Curry of YES Networkreports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone told reporters that they're hopeful to make a decision on whether Judge needs to be removed from the active roster by Monday. Judge underwent an MRI before Friday's game, and it revealed a strain that will keep the outfielder out of action, but does not appear to be significant enough to cause a long-term leave of absence. That being said, fantasy managers should be prepared for Judge to miss another couple of games, at the very least.
Apr 28 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Friday's loss to the Rangers that the MRI on Judge's hip showed "something", but the team doctor will weigh in before any decision is made in regards to being placed on the injured list, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Boone did say that a trip to the injured list for Judge is possible, but cautioned it was too early to determine his status. The reigning MVP is expected to miss at least one more game at least regardless of the decision, but an update on just how much time Judge will miss will likely be available before Saturday's game against Texas.
Apr 27 2023Judge will miss the "next couple of days" due to a hip injury, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge exited in the middle of Thursday's game, but he noted that he had felt pain in his hip since earlier in the day. The issue is related to an awkward slide that occurred in Wednesday's contest. While it's unclear if a stint on the injured list will be required, Judge noted that he is not concerned about the issue being long term.
Apr 6 2023Judge went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base against the Phillies in a 4-2 victory Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge helped New York get off to a promising start in the win, singling to left field in the first inning, subsequently stealing second base and coming around to score the game's first run on a Gleyber Torres single. The theft was the first of the campaign for the slugger, who tallied a career-high 16 steals last season. Judge's power is undoubtedly his biggest asset, but his fantasy value will be all the more savory if he can reach double-digit steals again in 2023.
Apr 3 2023Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-0 win against the Giants on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge kicked off the scoring for New York in the contest, knocking a 392-foot solo shot in the third inning. The long ball was his sixth hit of the season, two of which have left the park. Judge is off to a strong start following his 2022 MVP campaign, posting a .462/.462/.923 slash line and driving in four runs over his first three games.
Mar 30 2023Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two total RBI in the Yankees' season-opening defeat of the Giants on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After setting a new single-season AL home run record in 2022, the $360 million slugger kicked off 2023 with a first-inning bomb to center off Giants ace Logan Webb. Judge then drove in Jose Trevino with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh as New York cruised to a 5-0 victory on Opening Day in the Bronx. Judge will be hard pressed to top his 62 homers from last season, but he's picked up right where he left off in his MVP campaign.
Mar 17 2023Judge hasn't traveled with the Yankees for any of their Grapefruit League road games, but he's been getting live at-bats while the team is away, Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's absence from spring road games isn't particularly unusual for a player of his tenure and status, though it has limited him to action in just nine of New York's 20 contests. The slugger has fared well when he has played, going 8-for-19 (.421) with four doubles, a home run, four RBI, four runs and a 4:3 BB:K. Judge has also been logging at-bats against the team's hurlers before home games and taking plenty of swings against high-velocity batting machines, so he's had ample opportunity to shake off any offseason rust. The Yankees captain won't go the entire spring without traveling -- he's expected to play in at least one road game during the upcoming weekend.
Mar 10 2023Judge could see some starts in center field while Harrison Bader (oblique) is sidelined, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge actually made more starts in center than anywhere else last season, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch. The reigning AL MVP had already been ticketed for some left field duty this season, too, so it's possible he'll see action at all three outfield spots.
Mar 6 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced that Judge will play left field Wednesday and Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's been widely reported that Judge is going to play some left field during home games to allow Giancarlo Stanton to handle right field, with right offering far less ground to cover for Stanton. Judge might have a short acclimation period, but given his athleticism he should have no trouble making the switch with three-plus weeks until the regular season starts.
Mar 5 2023Judge will make his spring debut in left field either Wednesday or Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is going to play some left field in home games this year, which would allow Giancarlo Stanton to play right field in Yankees Stadium -- an area that will require Stanton to cover less ground. Judge has never played left field in the majors, but his athleticism should allow the transition to be a painless one.
Mar 1 2023Yankees manager Aaron Boone told ESPN on Wednesday that Judge is likely to play left field soon, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: "Sometime, probably next week," Boone said. Judge has primarily played in right field with some center for the Yankees, but the outfielder is going to see some time in left with Giancarlo Stanton patrolling right -- an area that would require Stanton to cover less ground. Judge has only played in left field as a professional in 2016 when he was Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but it shouldn't be a major adjustment for the slugger.
Feb 21 2023Judge is under consideration by Yankees manager Aaron Boone to play some left field this season during home games, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: That would allow Boone to play Giancarlo Stanton some in right field, where he wouldn't have to cover much ground, thereby freeing up the designated hitter spot for others. Stanton started 38 games in the outfield last season, although none of those starts came after July. Judge actually played center field more than anywhere else last season but, of course, right field is his natural spot. His only experience in left field came in 2016 at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, when he started seven games there.
Dec 7 2022Judge and the Yankees agreed Wednesday on a nine-year, $360 million contract, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: According to Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, Judge had higher offers on the table from the Giants and Padres, but he was eager to remain with the Yankees coming off a season in which he set a new American League record with 62 home runs. He'll take home $40 million annually as part of his new deal, which keeps him in The Bronx through 2031, his age-39 season. Though Judge likely would have been a first-round fantasy selection in the majority of leagues regardless of where he landed in free agency, the fact that he's returning to New York at least removes some concerns about how a park change might influence his projection.
Nov 17 2022Judge was named the 2022 AL MVP on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge set the American League home run record with 62 long balls on the season, and he also amassed an impressive 133 runs and 131 RBI. That was also good for an immaculate 207 wRC+, a mark that led the league by 22 points. Judge accrued 410 votes, followed by Shohei Ohtani (280) and Yordan Alvarez (232).
Oct 15 2022Judge will bat second in Saturday's ALDS Game 3 matchup against the Guardians. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge spent most of the stretch run batting leadoff, though that might have been primarily about getting him as many at-bats as possible in his quest to set the American League home run record. While his .425 on-base percentage is an excellent fit for the role, the leadoff spot minimizes the number of runners on base when he bats. The lineup change could therefore be a tactical one, though it's just as likely that it's an effort to shake things up for the superstar slugger, who's gone 0-for-8 with seven strikeouts thus far this postseason. Gleyber Torres will step into the leadoff role.
Oct 5 2022Judge is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Just as Yankees manager Aaron Boone had hinted might be the case, Judge will be on the bench for the regular-season finale after slugging his American League-record 62nd home run in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Since he'll be resting Wednesday, Judge -- who holds a .311 batting average -- likely won't have a chance at passing the Twins' Luis Arraez (.315) for the AL batting crown. In addition to the home runs category, Judge also leads the AL with 131 RBI, so he'll narrowly miss out on claiming the Triple Crown.
Sep 28 2022Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 8-3 victory over Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge made history in the top of the seventh inning as he crushed the eighth pitch of his at-bat against reliever Tim Mayza 117.4 mph to left field for his 61st home run of the season, tying Roger Maris' long-standing single season AL home run record. All eyes will be on Judge over the final week of the season as the Yankees have seven games left for the slugger to surpass Maris and set the AL record.
Sep 21 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Wednesday's 14-2 win over Pittsburgh. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: While he just missed making history with a ground rule double in the fifth inning, Judge's two hits on the night extended his hitting streak to 11 games. During that stretch, he is 22-for-44 with 10 extra-base hits, 15 runs scored and 10 RBI. His next shot at tying Roger Maris' AL home run record will come during a four-game set against the Red Sox at home this week.
Sep 20 2022Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-8 victory over Pittsburgh. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: With a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, Judge inched closer toward history. He passed Xander Bogaerts in batting average to claim the lead in the AL triple crown race and now has 60 homers, just one shy of tying the AL record set by Roger Maris in 1961. Judge's remarkable month of September has improved his season-long slash line to .316/.419/.703, and if it holds, he would be the first player to slug over .700 since Barry Bonds did in 2004.
Sep 18 2022Judge went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI, three runs and a walk during Sunday's 12-8 win over Milwaukee. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge extended his hitting streak to nine games during Sunday's high-scoring matchup, and he's had six multi-hit performances across that span. He's up to 59 home runs in 2022 following his multi-homer performance, bringing him within two home runs of tying the single-season American League record set by Roger Maris in 1961. Since the start of September, the 30-year-old has posted a 1.604 OPS with eight home runs, five doubles, 18 runs, 14 RBI and a stolen base over 15 games.
Sep 13 2022Judge went 3-for-4 with two homers, two RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's extra-inning win over Boston. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The AL MVP candidate had a huge day at the plate Tuesday, as he tied the game up at 3-3 with a solo shot in the sixth inning. After the Red Sox responded with a run of their own, he launched another solo shot to tie the game at 4-4. The multi-home run game was his 10th of the season and gives him a league-best 57 home runs. He also now has a 10-game hitting streak, during which he is 19-for-37 with six home runs, 11 runs scored and 10 RBI.
Sep 8 2022Judge went 1-for-5 with five walks, a solo home run and a stolen base Wednesday as the Yankees swept a doubleheader with the Twins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Minnesota's pitchers tried their best to work around the major-league home run leader, but Judge still launched his 55th homer of the season in the fourth inning of the matinee off rookie Louie Varland -- his fourth straight game with a long ball. He then showed off his athleticism by stealing his career-high 16th base of the year in the nightcap. Since the beginning of August, Judge has been an offensive juggernaut, slashing .312/.479/.725 over 33 games with 13 homers, six steals, 23 runs and 27 RBI.
Sep 6 2022Judge went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a double, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-2 win against Minnesota. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: With the score tied 2-2 in the sixth inning, Judge launched a two-run shot to left field to put New York ahead for good. The performance marked his third straight game with a long ball and pushed his season total to a league-leading 54 homers. Since struggling through a nine-game homerless stretch in mid-August, Judge has gone deep eight times in his subsequent 13 contests.
Sep 4 2022Judge went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge mashed a belt-high sinker from Shawn Armstrong 450 feet to left field to lead off the game for the Yankees. The slugger also recorded a base hit in the fifth inning and doubled and scored in the seventh for good measure. Judge now has 53 homers, a career high and the league's highest total since Pete Alonso hit 53 in 2019. Judge is now slashing .299/.401/.674 on the season.
Aug 30 2022Judge went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Angels. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge supplied the Yankees' last runs of the game with his 51st homer of the season. That blast accounted for the margin of victory. This was his first three-hit game in August, but he's flexed power with five long balls in his last eight contests. The star outfielder is up to a .297/.398/.667 slash line with 113 RBI, 104 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 126 games.
Aug 26 2022Judge went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and three walks in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's fifth-inning homer was all the scoring the Yankees mustered in the contest. The three walks matched a season high, and it was his seventh multi-walk game this month. The star outfielder is up to 49 homers, 109 RBI, 101 runs scored, 14 stolen bases and a .297/.397/.665 slash line through 122 games this year. He's walking at a 13.6 percent clip, his highest walk rate since 2019.
Aug 24 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mets. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He got the Yankees on the board by taking Taijuan Walker deep in the fourth inning. Judge has gone yard in back-to-back contests, and he's slashing .294/.448/.618 through 20 games in August with six of his 48 homers and four of his career-high 14 steals on the season.
Aug 23 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-2 win over the Mets. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's 383-foot blast off Max Scherzer in the third inning ended his longest power drought of the season, as the 30-year-old hadn't left the yard in any of the Yankees' last nine games while batting just .133 with 12 strikeouts. The American League MVP candidate's struggles of late have mirrored his team's, with the Yankees going 3-6 during Judge's nine-game slump. Even with the brief lull in production, Judge is still MLB's runaway home-run leader. His 47 long balls put him 13 ahead of the Phillies' Kyle Schwarber for first place.
Aug 20 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: New York again failed to produce much offense, but Judge managed to notch his first multi-hit effort since Aug. 8. The slugger also swiped second base in the third inning, adding to what is already a career-high theft total (12). The Yankees are in a swoon right now due largely to a recently tepid offense, and Judge hasn't been immune to the slide. Including Saturday, he has gone 4-for-27 with no home runs over his past eight contests.
Aug 12 2022Judge went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two runs scored and a pair of walks in Friday's loss to the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge launched his 46th homer of the year in the third inning, a solo shot off Nathan Eovaldi. The homer was his third in four games, putting him on pace for 66. He's also now riding a streak of three consecutive two-walk games.
Aug 7 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with one double and four RBI in Sunday's loss against the Cardinals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Sunday's effort pushes Judge ahead of Pete Alonso for the MLB lead in RBI with 97. The Yankees' slugger continues to produce despite not launching a long ball in his last four games, as he has pushed his average over .300 and is inching closer to 200 combined runs and RBI still with over a month and a half to play.
Aug 5 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge didn't homer Friday, making this the first time he's gone consecutive games without a long ball since July 17-21. It wasn't a totally fruitless effort for the outfielder, as he picked up his 11th steal of the season after a fifth-inning single. He's yet to be caught stealing this year, and he's added a league-leading 43 home runs with 93 RBI, 91 runs scored and 17 doubles through 103 contests.
Aug 3 2022Judge isn't starting Wednesday against the Mariners. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been on a tear since the All-Star break, posting a 1.608 OPS with 10 home runs, three doubles, 23 RBI, 15 runs and two stolen bases over 13 games. Matt Carpenter is starting in right field while Aaron Hicks takes over in center.
Aug 1 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a double in a 7-2 win against Seattle on Monday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge smacked a two-run shot to center field in the second inning for his league-leading 43rd homer of the campaign. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, only three players in MLB history -- Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Babe Ruth -- have ever hit more long balls through 104 games in a season. Judge has gone deep in four of his past five contests and in eight of 12 games since the All-Star break.
Jul 31 2022Judge went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run and two walks in Saturday's 8-2 win over Kansas City. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge continued his season-long power fest with a two-run shot to right field in the second inning. The slugger has gone deep in each of his past three games and in seven of 10 contests since the All-Star break. Judge is slashing an eye-popping .436/.532/1.179 over that stretch with nine homers, 21 RBI, two stolen bases and a 7:13 BB:K. He's up to 42 home runs on the season and is on pace to obliterate his career-high mark of 52, which he set in his first full major-league campaign.
Jul 30 2022Judge went 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI in Friday's 11-5 win over the Royals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After launching a two-run shot off Kris Bubic in the third inning, Judge capped the scoring on the night with a grand slam in the eighth off Jackson Kowar. The pending free agent is on another tear, homering eight times in nine games since the All-Star break while batting ,417 (15-for-36) with 19 RBI, and on the season Judge is slashing .297/.378/.668 with an MLB-leading 41 home runs -- nine more than second-place Kyle Schwarber and 11 more than Yordan Alvarez for the AL lead. Friday's performance also moved Judge ahead of Pete Alonso for the major-league lead in RBI with 89.
Jul 29 2022Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 1-0 win over Kansas City. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Neither team was able to produce any runs through eight frames before Judge gave New York the victory with his 431-foot walkoff blast in the ninth. It was the slugger's third walkoff homer of the season, and he joined Mickey Mantle as the only Yankees ever to accomplish that feat, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. For good measure, Judge also swiped his 10th bag in the contest. He's the third MLB player this season to reach the 20/10 mark, and he leads the majors with 39 homers on the campaign.
Jul 27 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Mets. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge wasted little time adding to his league-leading homer total, blasting a 423-foot solo shot to right field in in the first inning. The long ball was his second in as many games and his fifth in six contests since the All-Star break. Judge is slashing .478/.571/1.217 and has racked up 12 RBI, seven runs and one stolen base over that span.
Jul 25 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-0 win over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge launched a 456 foot two-run blast in the third inning that sent DJ LeMahieu across the plate. It was Judge's league-leading 37th home run of the year, his eighth home run in July and his fourth in his last four games. The outfielder is also on a four-game hit streak, where he has totaled nine hits in 17 at-bats. Judge has raised his batting average from .282 to .294 during that stretch.
Jul 24 2022Judge went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge plated the first run of the game with a first-inning double and knocked in another run with a single in the fourth. He finished with his third four-hit performance of the campaign, though this was the first such effort during which he didn't hit a home run. Judge also stole his ninth bag of the season, tying his career-high mark set in 2017.
Jul 22 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Friday against the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge took Tyler Wells yard for both of his homers, bringing his total on the season to 36. He's shown no signs of slowing down, as he's now gone deep six times in his last seven starts. Overall, Judge has a .284/.368/.635 line across 402 plate appearances for the campaign.
Jul 17 2022Judge went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, a walk, three total runs and three total RBI in a 14-1 victory against Boston on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was somewhat overshadowed in the contest by teammate Matt Carpenter, who hit two homers of his own and drove in seven runs. Nonetheless, it was a huge game by Judge, who swatted a solo homer in the fifth inning and a two-run shot in the sixth. The slugger has gone deep three times in his past three games and leads the majors with 33 long balls on the season.
Jul 15 2022Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Reds. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge slugged a solo homer to center field that was estimated to travel 435 feet in the eighth inning. The long ball was his 31st of the campaign -- the most in the majors. Judge hit 11 homers in June but has slowed down a bit with two through 11 contests in July.
Jul 12 2022Judge is out of the lineup Tuesday versus Cincinnati. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: It's presumably just a regular day of rest for Judge, who will be heading to Los Angeles for the All-Star Game instead of getting next week off. The star outfielder, who's slugging .474 in his last 10 games, should return to action Wednesday. Aaron Hicks plays center field in Tuesday's series opener.
Jul 8 2022Judge (lower body) will return to action as expected Friday against the Red Sox, batting second and serving as the designated hitter, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge missed Thursday's series opener due to lower-body soreness, but the issue never seemed to be a particularly serious one. The fact that he'll be limited to DH duties may suggest that he's not quite 100 percent healthy, but he's evidently healthy enough to hit.
Jul 7 2022Judge (soreness) is expected to be back in the lineup Friday against the Red Sox, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was held out of the lineup Thursday due to lower-body soreness. The issue doesn't look to be serious as his absence is likely to be limited to one game.
Jul 3 2022Judge is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge started both ends of Saturday's doubleheader, and this is presumably just a rest day for the AL MVP candidate. Aaron Hicks will shift over to center field as Marwin Gonzalez enters the lineup in left against right-hander Triston McKenzie. Giancarlo Stanton will serve as the designated hitter.
Jun 29 2022Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 5-3 win against the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 30-year-old put New York on the board with a 429-foot, two-run shot to left during the opening frame, and he walked during the third inning and came around to score on Giancarlo Stanton's three-run homer. Judge entered Wednesday's contest in a 2-for-20 slump, but he showed signs of busting out with the homer and the walk.
Jun 26 2022Judge went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk during Sunday's 6-3 win over Houston. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Although the Yankees were held without a hit over the first six innings of Sunday's matchup, the team rallied late, and Judge propelled the team to the win with his second walkoff hit in the last four games. The 30-year-old has hit a modest .277 in June after hitting .303 over the first two months of the season, but he's recorded 10 homers, 20 runs, 18 RBI and two stolen bases over 24 games this month.
Jun 24 2022Judge and the Yankees settled on a one-year, $19 million contract Friday to avoid an arbitration hearing, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge reportedly turned down a one-year, $19 million offer from the Yankees in recent days, but the two sides were ultimately able to strike a deal with that salary. He'll be able to make up to $500,000 in incentives, and it's encouraging that the two sides settled prior to a hearing, which can strain relationships between players and their teams. The 30-year-old is slashing .304/.379/.658 with 27 homers, 58 runs, 53 RBI and five stolen bases to begin the season.
Jun 22 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs Wednesday in a 5-4 victory versus Tampa Bay. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge accounted for the Yankees' first run with his solo homer off Shane Baz in the fourth inning, and he belted another solo shot to pull New York within a run in the seventh. The slugger had been in a minor power drought at the plate with no homers over his past six games entering Wednesday -- incredibly, that was his second-longest span of games without a long ball this season. Judge leads all major-leaguers with 27 home runs on the campaign, six more than his closest competitors (Yordan Alvarez and Mike Trout with 21 apiece).
Jun 21 2022Judge is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will take a seat for only the fourth time all season and for the first time since May 16 in what looks to be a routine maintenance day. The Yankees will roll out an outfield of Marwin Gonzalez, Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo from left to right while the American League MVP candidate receives a well-earned day off.
Jun 16 2022Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got the Yankees on the board early with a solo shot off Rays starter Shane McClanahan in the bottom of the first inning. Through 60 games, the slugger is slashing .313/.384/.683 with an MLB-high 25 home runs.
Jun 12 2022Judge went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three total RBI in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Cubs. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got to Cubs rookie Matt Swarmer twice in the contest, swatting solo shots in the first and fifth innings. The slugger capped his performance with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. This was Judge's fifth multi-homer performance of the campaign, and he leads the majors by a wide margin with 24 long balls on the season. Three players are tied for second with 17.
Jun 8 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with one homer, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Twins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge continued an already stellar season by hitting home run number 22 in the first inning of Tuesday's game. It was his fourth home run in six games. Judge could be in line for an MVP trophy if he continues to lead the league in home runs and keeps his average above .300.
Jun 3 2022Judge went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 13-0 win over Detroit. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge knocked a solo homer off of Elvin Rodriguez in the third inning and later hit an RBI single in the eighth. The 30-year-old slugger improved his slash line to .316/.384/.679 with 29 extra-base hits (20 home runs and nine doubles) and 41 RBI through 50 games this season. He has 14 long balls with 28 runs scored since the start of May.
May 30 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge brought the Yankees to within two runs with his eighth-inning solo blast that was estimated to have traveled 420 feet. The long ball was the slugger's 18th this season, four more than any other player in the majors. He has rounded out his superb start to the campaign with a .309/.376/.669 slash line, 38 runs, 37 RBI and three stolen bases as he makes an early MVP push.
May 27 2022Judge went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run scored and one steal in Thursday's victory over the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge opened the scoring with an RBI single in the sixth and proceeded to steal second before coming around to score on a Miguel Andujar single. The slugger added another RBI on a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, extending the Yankees' lead to 5-0. Across 23 games in May, Judge has hit 11 homers and collected 23 RBI while slashing .330/.750/1.152.
May 23 2022Judge went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 6-4 loss to Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: For the fourth time in 40 games this season, Judge went deep twice in one game. Both of his homers Monday were against Jordan Lyles, a solo shot in the first inning followed by a two-run blast in the fifth. The 30-year-old slugger is up to 17 home runs with 34 RBI and a 1.113 OPS through 171 plate appearances. Judge is hitting .355 with 11 home runs in 20 games this month.
May 22 2022Judge went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 3-1 loss to the White Sox in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge knotted the game at 1-1 with his eighth-inning shot off Kendall Graveman while adding two singles earlier in the game. The long ball is the 30-year-old's MLB-best 15th of the season -- three ahead of second-place Yordan Alvarez -- and Judge is now slashing .319/.393/.681 with 33 runs and 31 RBI in addition to leading the league with 27 barrels.
May 17 2022Judge went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge doubled and drove in DJ Lemahieu in the first inning before launching two solo homers and adding a single later in the contest. The outfielder now has a league-leading 14 homers this season, five of which have come in the last week. Judge is batting .345 with eight long balls, 17 RBI, 14 runs and a stolen base over 55 at-bats in the month of May. The 30-year-old is having a monster start to the season and has compiled a .315 batting average and .692 slugging percentage over 130 at-bats, both of which are career bests.
May 16 2022Judge will get the day off Monday in Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge sits for the first time in the month of May. He owns a 1.059 OPS for the month thus far, improving on his already excellent .961 OPS from April. Giancarlo Stanton will handle right field Monday as DJ LeMahieu serves as the designated hitter.

He later scored a third and final run on Josh Donaldson's ninth-inning blast. Over the last four games, Judge is 7-for-16 with three homers and eight runs scored. He's improved his season slash line to an impressive .305/.376/.661 through 133 plate appearances.
May 12 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three runs and four RBI in a 15-7 win over the White Sox on Thursday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge did all of his damage late in the contest, swatting a solo homer in the seventh inning, driving in two runs with a single in the eighth and recording a sacrifice fly in the ninth. The four RBI tied a season high for the slugger, who is tied for fifth in the league with 26 runs batted in on the campaign. Judge also leads all of baseball with his 11 homers.
May 11 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: His ninth-inning rocket off Toronto closer Jordan Romano was Judge's 10th homer of the season and the 168th of his career, but incredibly, it was the first one of those blasts to end a ballgame. Nine of Judge's homers this season have come in his last 15 games, a stretch during which he's slashing .317/.369/.800 with 20 RBI.
May 4 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-1 win over the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: His sixth-inning solo shot off Alek Manoah got the Yankees on the board, and Judge then capped a big seventh with a double that brought home two more runs. The 30-year-old slugger moved into a tie with Anthony Rizzo for the MLB lead in homers with nine, and he's also supplied a strong .303/.361/.674 slash line with two steals, 17 runs and 19 RBI through 23 games.
May 3 2022Judge went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Monday in a 3-2 victory versus Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge wasn't able to lengthen his three-game run with at least one long ball, but he did manage a first-inning single to extend his overall hitting streak to seven contests. The slugger is slashing .367/.387/.900 with five homers and 11 RBI over that span, and he's tied for second in MLB with eight home runs on the season.
May 1 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with two homers and three RBI in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Royals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge drilled two solo shots in Sunday's victory, a 453-foot cannon to dead center in the first inning followed by a ninth-inning blast to give the Yankees an insurance run. He's now gone deep in three straight games and has seven over his last eight outings, including a pair of multi-homer performances. The slugging outfielder is slashing .300/.364/.663 with 16 RBI and 16 runs scored through 88 plate appearances.
Apr 30 2022Judge isn't starting Saturday against the Royals ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge currently has a five-game hitting streak in which he's gone 8-for-21 with three homers, a double, eight RBI, seven runs, a walk and eight strikeouts. He'll get a breather Saturday while Giancarlo Stanton starts in right field with DJ LeMahieu serving as the designated hitter.
Apr 26 2022Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 12-8 win Tuesday over Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: After being retired in his first three plate appearances, Judge hit a solo homer in the seventh and singled and scored in the eighth. The 30-year-old is now hitting .274 and slugging .557, on par with his career .276 AVG and .554 SLG. The outfielder is striking out a career-best 24.3 percent of the time, about five percent less frequently than his career rate. The signs point to Judge having another great season hitting atop a potent New York lineup.
Apr 22 2022Judge went 2-for-3 with two home runs, a walk and three RBI in Friday's 4-1 win over Cleveland. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge launched a two-run shot off of Eli Morgan in the third inning and then tagged Tanner Tully with a solo homer in the fifth. The 6-foot-7 slugger boosted his slash line to .280/.368/.540 with seven extra-base hits and four RBI. He was 5-for-23 with one RBI over his previous seven appearances.
Apr 15 2022Judge isn't starting Friday's game against the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge recorded extra-base hits in each of his last three appearances, going 4-for-12 with a homer, two doubles, two runs and a walk. Through the first week of the season, Judge is slashing .292/.370/.870.
Apr 10 2022Judge went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in a 4-3 loss to Boston on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge singled and stole second in the first inning and tacked on another single in the third to record his second multi-hit game of the season. The slugging outfielder has yet to surpass six steals in a season since his rookie year and the early theft is a good indication that Judge plans to run more, especially given it's a contract season. Judge is now 4-for-13 on the season with one double and one walk.
Mar 28 2022Judge went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Sunday's Grapefruit League win over Pittsburgh. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge entered the contest without a spring homer to his name, but he got over that hump with a solo shot off Jose Quintana in the third inning. The slugger then took JT Brubaker deep for a two-run shot in the fifth frame. Judge is slashing .357/.500/.929 with a 3:3 BB:K across six spring contests.
Mar 15 2022Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Judge could spend some time playing center field this season, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge projects to be the Yankees' everyday right fielder, but with Brett Gardner no longer a Yankee (at least for now), there could be a need for Judge to see some time in center. Aaron Hicks is expected to play the position on a regular basis, but it's a risky proposition to expect him to stay healthy for a full 162-game slate given his durability issues. Judge logged 158 innings in center field last season but didn't play the position at all in 2019 or 2020.
Sep 30 2021Judge went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk Thursday against the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got the Yankees on the board with a 366-foot shot against Hyun Jin Ryu in the third inning. Clearly the 29-year-old is just fine after dislocating his left pinkie finger during Sunday's game. The long ball was the team-leading 37th of the year for Judge, who is slashing .287/.374/.540 overall.
Sep 27 2021Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's 24th double of the season proved to be the most consequential play of the night, as he plated the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning to help the Yankees secure a series sweep while surging ahead of the Red Sox in the American League wild-card race. The Red Sox defense did Judge some favors in allowing the clutch hit to come to fruition; first baseman Bobby Dalbec and catcher Christian Vazquez both failed to corral foul balls that prolonged Judge's at-bat before the slugger lined a ball to the left-center gap. Judge is batting a mere .217 in September, but he's made the most of his 20 hits on the month with eight home runs and 17 RBI.
Sep 22 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double Tuesday in the Yankees' 7-1 triumph over the Rangers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's opposite-field blast in the seventh inning was his 36th of the season, allowing him to jump ahead of Cleveland's Jose Ramirez (35) for ninth place in the majors. The 29-year-old is getting on base at a poor .277 clip thus far in September, but he's been productive enough from a counting-stats standpoint (seven home runs, 15 RBI, 10 runs) through 20 games.
Sep 17 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-0 win over Cleveland. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 29-year-old went just 1-for-14 across three games versus Baltimore this week, but he put a halt to the small skid with a multi-hit effort Friday. Judge is up to 35 homers, 85 RBI, 78 runs scored and a .288/.372/.539 slash line through 575 plate appearances. He's added six stolen bases and 21 doubles to round out a solid stat line.
Sep 14 2021Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk Tuesday against the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge took Alexander Wells deep in the first inning to record his 34th homer of the season. He's now hit a home run in consecutive games and has gone deep four times in his last four contests. With the performance, Judge improved his line to .292/.378/.544 to go along with 77 runs scored and 84 RBI across 561 plate appearances on the campaign.
Sep 13 2021Judge went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in the win Monday versus the Twins. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The right fielder hit a game-tying three-run blast off of Alex Colome with one out in the eighth inning. He has now hit three home runs in the last three games after going eight straight without a long ball prior. He now has 33 homers and 82 RBI, both of which are highs since his monster 2017 season.
Sep 12 2021Manager Aaron Boone is hopeful that Judge (illness) will be available for Monday's game against Minnesota, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge felt experienced dizziness in his first at-bat Sunday and was replaced defensively in the bottom of the third inning. Boone said that the outfielder was "doing pretty good" after Sunday's loss, and it doesn't appear as though his dizziness is a long-term concern.
Sep 11 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 8-7 win over the Mets. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge cranked a solo home run off Taijuan Walker in the second inning. It was the second of back-to-back long balls and the third of the inning. Prior to Saturday, the outfielder was in a bit of a cold spell, batting just .176 over eight games. On the season, he is slashing .294/.378/.538, leading the Yankees with 32 homers, 79 RBI and 75 runs scored in 551 plate appearances.
Sep 9 2021Judge went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The outfielder is starting to get back on track at the plate, going 4-for-8 across the last two games after enduring an 0-for-17 skid earlier in September. Judge's slash line has rebounded to .292/.378/.525 across 542 plate appearances overall. The slugger has added 30 home runs, 75 RBI, 73 runs scored, six stolen bases and 20 doubles this year.
Sep 1 2021Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Angels. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 29-year-old is absolutely locked in at the plate, recording multiple hits in eight of his last nine games. He's hitting .500 (18-for-36) with three long balls, 10 RBI and six runs scored in that span. Judge's eighth-inning solo shot Wednesday provided the Yankees with an insurance run. For the year, the star outfielder has a .299/.389/.545 slash line with 30 homers, 75 RBI, 71 runs scored and six stolen bases through 512 plate appearances.
Aug 28 2021Judge went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's loss to the Athletics. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was just one triple away from hitting the cycle and provided all the offense the Yankees were able to muster against the A's pitching staff with a two-run blast off Sergio Romo in the top of the ninth. However, his 29th long ball of the campaign wasn't enough to spark a comeback or force extra innings. The towering slugger has posted five straight multi-hit performances and has homered in back-to-back games as well. He's hitting an impressive .346 with eight homers and 24 RBI this month.
Aug 27 2021Judge went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Friday's 8-2 win over Oakland. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge hammered a three-run shot off Sean Manaea in the fifth inning, his 28th homer of the year. He later knocked an RBI single in the ninth. The 6-foot-7 slugger has collected multiple hits in four straight games, going 9-for-16 (.563) with three extra-base hits and five RBI during that span. On the year, Judge is now slashing .291/.383/.532 with 46 extra-base hits and 70 RBI.
Aug 24 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in Monday's 5-1 victory versus Atlanta. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge and slugger Giancarlo Stanton teamed up for four of the Yankees' six hits in the contest, with the former singling twice and scoring an eighth-inning run. Judge also stolen his sixth bag of the campaign, and four of those thefts have come in his past nine games. He has added a .283/.377/.520 slash line, 27 homers and 65 RBI on the campaign.
Aug 20 2021Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 10-2 win over Minnesota. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The slugger had gone just 1-for-10 with five walks in his last four games, but he went deep in the second inning Friday. Judge is up to 27 homers, 65 RBI, 65 runs scored and five stolen bases while slashing .283/.377/.524 across 469 plate appearances. He'll look to get back in a hitting groove at the plate after showing some discipline with a pair of three-walk games in the last week.
Aug 19 2021Judge went 0-for-1 with three walks and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: This was Judge's second three-walk game in his past five contests, and he has now drawn eight free passes in his past 20 plate appearances. Perhaps more importantly from a fantasy perspective, the slugger has picked up three stolen bases over that five-game span, bringing his total to five on the campaign. Judge's .378 OBP ranks first on the team among qualified hitters.
Aug 16 2021Judge went 0-for-2 with three walks and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 victory over the White Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The slugger wasn't able to extend his five-game hitting streak in the contest, but his stat line wasn't entirely empty. Judge drew three free passes for the third time this season and added his third steal of the campaign. He is enjoying a strong August, slashing .316/.369/.632 with five homers and 15 RBI in 14 games.
Aug 14 2021Judge went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's win over the White Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge gave the Yankees a 4-3 lead when he homered off of Craig Kimbrel to open the eighth inning. It was the 26th round-tripper of the year for Judge, who also drove in runs with a single, double and sacrifice fly. The big man is hitting an even .400 (12-30) over his last seven contests and takes a five-game hitting streak into Sunday's series finale against Chicago.
Aug 12 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Thursday's loss to the White Sox. He also drew a walk. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge brought the Yankees to within 7-6 in the top of the ninth inning when he took Liam Hendriks deep for a two-run blast to center field. Jul 28 2021Judge was scratched from Wednesday's lineup while going through additional testing related to his stint on the COVID-19 injured list, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The additional testing caused Judge to arrive at the field too late to remain in the starting lineup. However, Judge entered the game as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-3 with an RBI. After the contest, manager Aaron Boone further clarified the situation and reiterated that Judge was "fine" and "good to go."
Jul 27 2021Judge (illness) will be activated from the COVID-19 list and will be in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Rays, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge gained clearance to rejoin the Yankees in Boston on Sunday after he tested positive for COVID-19 on July 15. The outfielder was reported to be targeting an activation at some point during the series against the Rays, and per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, he will bat second as the right fielder Tuesday.
Jul 25 2021Judge (illness) joined the Yankees in Boston on Sunday and could be activated during the upcoming three-game series in Tampa Bay, which begins Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will need to clear a standard cardiac workup Monday in order to gain full clearance to be activated from the COVID-19 injured list. Jul 22 2021Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Judge (illness) could be ready to rejoin the team this weekend and potentially return from the COVID-19 injured list early next week, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been sidelined for the entire second half after testing positive for COVID-19 coming out of the All-Star break. Based on Boone's comments, Judge doesn't seem to be experiencing any serious symptoms, so he could be ready to rejoin the lineup next week if he's regularly testing negative for the virus. Greg Allen has served as the Yankees' main option in right field while all of Judge, Clint Frazier (eye), Miguel Andujar (wrist) and Trey Amburgey (hamstring) have been on the IL.
Jul 16 2021Judge tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Thursday's contest against the Red Sox was postponed due to the outbreak, as Judge is among six Yankees who have tested positive for the virus. He'll be sidelined for at least the next 10 days and won't be able to rejoin the team until he clears the health and safety protocols. Trey Amburgey and Tim Locastro should see increased playing time for the immediate future with Miguel Andujar (wrist) and Clint Frazier (vision issues) also sidelined.
Jul 15 2021Judge is in the league's COVID-19 protocols as he awaits confirmation of a positive test for the virus, Buster Olney of ESPN reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees have at least three players who have tested positive for COVID-19, and Judge is among a group of another three players who are in the league's health and safety protocols. The right fielder may have received a positive COVID-19 test result during the All-Star break, but the team is awaiting a second test before confirming his diagnosis. If his positive test is confirmed, Judge will be away from the team for at least 10 days, while Trey Amburgey and Tim Locastro could see an uptick in playing time in his absence.
Jul 10 2021Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 1-0 win over Houston. Judge is slashing .285/.378/.522 with 19 homers, 44 RBI, 47 runs scored and a 43:86 BB:K over 336 plate appearances. Jun 30 2021Judge is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will retreat to the bench after he had started in each of the Yankees' last 14 games. The 29-year-old is 10-for-31 (.323 average) with three home runs, three doubles, six RBI and five runs in his past eight games. He has a .904 OPS with 18 long balls and 42 RBI through 75 contests overall.
Jun 27 2021Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-2 loss to Boston. Jun 15 2021Judge (back) is in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge didn't play in Sunday's series finale against the Phillies due to back spasms. The outfielder appears to have gotten past the issue and is back in the starting nine Tuesday, batting second and playing right field.
Jun 13 2021Manager Aaron Boone said Judge is not in the starting lineup against the Phillies on Sunday because of back spasms, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Per Boone, the outfielder will get treatment during the game and could be an option to pinch hit late in the contest. Judge will look to return to the starting nine Tuesday against Toronto.
Jun 10 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs scored in a 9-6 win over Minnesota on Wednesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The slugger gave New York a quick lead, slamming a solo shot to left field in the first inning. He also doubled to lead off the third and came around to score on Giancarlo Stanton's three-run homer. Judge's 15 homers on the season are tied for seventh-most in MLB.
Jun 6 2021Judge went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and two walks in a 6-5 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was a pest all game for Boston pitchers, with singles in the first and third, an RBI fielder's choice in the fourth and walks in the seventh and ninth though the effort wasn't enough for a New York victory. This was the first game of the season Judge has been on base four times and he increased an impressive slash line to .295/.398/.540.
Jun 4 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge hit a single in the bottom of the fourth inning Friday, and put the Yankees on the board with his solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. The 29-year-old had gone just 1-for-10 with a run and an RBI across the last three games, but he bounced back by hitting his 14th home run of the season Friday.
May 27 2021Judge went 1-for-1 with a walk, a two-run homer and an additional RBI in a win over the Blue Jays in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: His homer off Robbie Ray in the third inning tied the game, and Judge later gave the Yankees some insurance with an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Judge was hitless in the first game of the twin bill, but his average still sits north of .300 for the season. With 13 homers, 29 RBI and 25 runs scored to go along with the outstanding average and OBP, Judge has been among the American League's top performers at the plate so far in 2021.
May 23 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run in a 7-0 victory over the White Sox on Saturday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has notched multi-hit efforts eight times in his past 12 contests, jolting his season slash line to .307/.401/.575. During the scorching stretch, he is batting .465 (20-for-43) with five homers, seven RBI, five walks and 11 runs.
May 20 2021Judge isn't starting Thursday's game against the Rangers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had reached base safely in each of his last 11 games, but he'll get a routine day off Thursday. Tyler Wade will take over in right field and bat ninth.
May 16 2021Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two runs and a walk in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge capped off a dominant series Sunday by blasting his fourth home run in the last three games. The 29-year-old went 6-for-10 with four home runs, six runs, five RBI and three walks in the three-game series against Baltimore.

ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge homered in the first and fourth innings for his ninth and 10th long balls of the year. The 29-year-old has been locked at the plate over his last four games, slashing .571/.625/.1.286 with three home runs, three RBI and four runs scored. He has not struck out either over that span. His OPS has also risen to .946, which would be his best mark since his 2017 rookie season.
May 13 2021Judge went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had half of the Yankees' hits in the narrow win and scored their only run in the seventh after leading off the inning with a base knock to left-center field. The 29-year-old has struggled to see the ball well for most of May but is 5-for-8 over his last two games and appears to be starting to turn things around. The Rays are scheduled to throw Rich Hill on Thursday, which could bode well for Judge as he's historically had much more success against lefties in his career and is slashing .379/.486/.690 with a 1.175 OPS against them in 35 plate appearances this year.
May 12 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge opened up the scoring early when he absolutely lasered a ball out to center to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead in the first. The home run was his first of May -- he's only tallied four hits in his last eight games while also owning a 3:14 BB:K over that span. His performance Tuesday could instill more confidence at the plate and help break him out of the slump he's endured for most of this month.
May 9 2021Judge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Per Marly Rivera of ESPN.com, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he's holding Judge out of the lineup Sunday in a "proactive" measure with New York set to embark of a heavy schedule following Monday's off day. Judge will effectively get two days in a row off, which the Yankees are hoping allows the struggling outfielder to clear his head and get right at the plate. Over his last six starts, Judge has gone 2-for-24 with 14 strikeouts.
May 6 2021Judge struck out in all five of his plate appearances in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Astros. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The five strikeouts tied a career high for Judge, who stranded six runners on the night. Judge's struggles at the dish weren't enough to slow down the surging Yankees, who rolled to their fifth straight victory thanks largely to Giancarlo Stanton, who reached base four times and drove in four. The Yankees could look to give Judge a day off soon to clear his head, but fantasy managers shouldn't fret too much about his poor showing Wednesday.
May 1 2021Judge went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run during Saturday's 6-4 win against the Tigers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 29-year-old has now collected eight RBI through two games versus the Tigers after sitting out the previous two contests for maintenance purposes. Judge is 10-for-25 with three home runs, two doubles, three walks, 10 RBI and eight runs across the past seven games.
Apr 30 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 10-0 win over the Tigers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had sat out the last two days for maintenance purposes due to lower-body soreness, but he didn't appear to miss a beat in his return to the lineup. He hit a solo home run to lead off the third inning before blasting a grand slam with one out in the fourth. Judge has slashed .272/.385/.568 with seven home runs, 15 RBI and 10 runs through the first month of the season.
Apr 29 2021Judge (lower body) is expected to play all three games in the Yankees' upcoming series against the Tigers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has missed the last two games due to lower-body soreness. Manager Aaron Boone said that Judge should be back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against Detroit, and he also said that he expects the right fielder to play Saturday and Sunday. Judge has slashed .263/.385/.500 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 21 games this year.
Apr 28 2021Judge (lower body) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Aaron Boone noted after Tuesday's win that Judge has been managing some lower-body soreness of late and would likely need a day off, so the star outfielder's absence from the lineup a day later shouldn't come as a major surprise. The Yankees will presumably check back in with Judge early Thursday to see how he's feeling before deciding whether he'll be ready to rejoin the lineup for the series finale that afternoon. Per Erik Boland of Newsday, Boone noted that Judge would still be available off the bench Wednesday if there was "a big enough spot" for him to make an appearance as a pinch hitter.
Apr 27 2021Manager Aaron Boone said after Tuesday's win over the Orioles that Judge will be out of the lineup within the next couple days while he deals with general lower body soreness, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 29-year-old is managing some general soreness with the Yankees eight games into a stretch of 13 straight days with a game, so he's due for a day off. Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk during Tuesday's contest before being removed for the bottom of the ninth inning. He's likely to be withheld from the lineup for one of Wednesday's or Thursday's games in Baltimore.
Apr 14 2021Judge went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs during Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old clubbed his third and fourth home runs of the season Wednesday but had no additional opportunities for RBI since he never batted with a runner on base. Judge has a .282/.364/.590 slash line with seven RBI through 44 plate appearances this season.
Apr 10 2021Judge (side) is starting Saturday's game against the Rays, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had missed the last two games due to side soreness, but manager Aaron Boone confirmed that the 28-year-old will be back in right field for Saturday's matchup. Prior to his injury, Judge had gone 8-for-22 with two home runs, five RBI and four strikeouts in five games to begin the season.
Apr 9 2021Judge (side) is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Tampa Bay. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old will be on the bench for the second straight contest while managing soreness in his left side. According to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic, manager Aaron Boone said Judge hit in the cage Friday and won't require any imaging tests, so the outfielder should still be considered day-to-day. Mike Tauchman and Clint Frazier will start in the corner outfield spots for the Yankees in the series opener.
Apr 7 2021Judge isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Baltimore due to a sore left side, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Aaron Boone revealed that Judge was dealing with soreness in his side during Tuesday's game, and the team didn't want him to push through it Wednesday. Boone didn't sound too concerned about the issue but also said that he "wouldn't rule anything out," Jack Curry of YES Network reports. Judge will have an extra day to recover since the Yankees have a day off Thursday.
Apr 6 2021Judge went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and another RBI during Tuesday's win over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge tallied a pair of singles including one RBI before extending New York's lead with a two-out, three-run homer against Wade LeBlanc in the eighth inning. It was the second long ball in as many games for the 28-year-old slugger, who is off to a solid .364 batting average.
Apr 5 2021Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and two runs scored in Monday's 7-0 win over the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's solo blast in the fourth inning was his first extra-base hit of the season and gave the Yankees an early 1-0 lead. The 6-foot-7 superstar is now 5-for-17 on the year after two multi-hit performances in his last three games.
Mar 31 2021Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Judge (illness) is "good to go," Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was held out of the lineup for Monday's Grapefruit League finale due to a minor illness, but he participated in team activities Wednesday and looked good in batting practice. The 28-year-old will likely slot into the No. 2 spot for Thursday's season opener against Toronto. Judge appeared in 16 spring games this year and slashed .256/.333/.395 with one home run and two RBI.
Mar 29 2021Manager Aaron Boone said Judge was excluded from the lineup for the Yankees' Grapefruit League finale Monday against the Tigers due to a non-COVID-19-related illness, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports. "He's a little under the weather," Boone said, while downplaying Judge's illness. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's ailment isn't believed to affect his availability for Opening Day, with Boone noting that the outfielder is still scheduled to fly with the team to New York as the Yankees wrap up camp Monday. The Yankees haven't yet indicated how they plan to structure their starting lineup while Luke Voit (knee) begins the season on the injured list, but Judge will presumably slot into the No. 2 spot for Thursday's opener versus the Blue Jays. Judge batted second in all 16 of his starts this spring.
Mar 25 2021Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Thursday's Grapefruit League loss to Philadelphia. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge took Matt Moore deep in the first inning, crushing a 440-foot shot to left field. The slugger is slashing .250/.333/.375 with a 4:12 BB:K across 15 spring contests.
Mar 3 2021Judge was hit in the lat and pulled from Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against Toronto, but he is fine, according to Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was drilled by a 96 mph fastball and immediately removed from the contest, but Yankees interim manager Carlos Mendoza indicated after the game that the slugger was pulled because he was slated for only two plate appearances regardless of the outcome. At this point, there appears to be no concern about Judge needing to miss any time. In his other plate appearance Wednesday, Judge lined out to right field.
Feb 28 2021Judge stated Sunday that he'll play in every other game at the start of spring training, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is healthy entering Grapefruit League play, but it makes sense for New York to be cautious with the slugger given his rash of injuries over the past three seasons. As long as he's able to avoid injury, Judge is expected to slot in as the Yankees' starting right fielder and bat near the top of the team's batting order.
Feb 24 2021Judge and the Yankees have not yet engaged in talks about a contract extension, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge isn't set to become a free agent until 2023 -- next season will be his final year of arbitration -- so the lack of extension talks is not necessarily telling when it comes to interpreting the Yankees' interest in locking him up long term. Still, the slugger has missed over 140 regular-season games over the past three seasons, so it wouldn't be shocking if New York has some level of trepidation about his ability to stay on the field. A healthy and productive 2021 campaign would likely ease those fears and set Judge up for a massive payday.
Feb 4 2021Judge has changed his offseason routine, working on his flexibility rather than only lifting weights, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has battled a number of injuries in the past few seasons, including oblique and calf strains. Across the past three campaigns, he's spent a combined 146 days on the injured list. While these types of reports are hardly unique at this time of the offseason, Judge has the potential to be a standout source of power in the 2021 season if he can remain on the field.
Jan 15 2021Judge signed a one-year, $10.175 million contract with the Yankees on Friday to avoid arbitration, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old will receive an eight-figure salary in 2021after posting a .257/.336/.554 slash line with nine homers in 28 games last season. Judge figures to be in the MVP race again this season if he can stay healthy, which isn't a guarantee given his injury issues over the past three seasons.
Sep 29 2020Judge went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer Tuesday to defeat the Indians in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge opened the game by cranking a two-run homer in the first inning off Shane Bieber, following a leadoff single from DJ LeMahieu. The 28-year-old slashed .257/.336/.554 throughout the 2020 regular season with an impressive 142 OPS+.
Sep 25 2020Judge is expected to play in all three contests during the Yankees' weekend series versus the Marlins, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was held out of the starting lineup Thursday, though he came on as a pinch hitter in the seventh and logged two at-bats while staying in the game to play right field. The team has taken a cautious approach with the slugger since he returned from a strained calf Sept. 16; however, it appears that he'll get a chance to ramp up for the postseason by taking part in all three games this weekend. Since his return, Judge has struggled with a .185 batting average and no extra-base hits while striking out 10 times in 27 at-bats.
Sep 24 2020Judge isn't in Thursday's lineup against the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge went hitless with a walk and one strikeout in three at-bats Wednesday, but he'll play a bench role Thursday as the Yankees continue to manage his workload ahead of the postseason. Clint Frazier will shift to right field with Brett Gardner starting in left.
Sep 22 2020Judge went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and one RBI during Tuesday's 12-1 win over the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old entered the game 2-for-17 with seven strikeouts since returning from the injured list last week, but he smacked three singles and came around to score each time Tuesday. Judge has a .276/.330/.609 slash line with nine homers, 21 runs and 21 RBI through 23 games this season.
Sep 20 2020Judge is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Aaron Boone choreographed this move, saying Friday that he expected to sit Judge for the finale in Boston. The team is understandably being cautious after Judge aggravated his calf injury immediately upon his initial return in late August. Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks and Clint Frazier start for the Yankees from left to right.
Sep 19 2020Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Judge is expected to be in the lineup for Saturday's game against Boston before getting a day off Sunday, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: With both Judge and Giancarlo Stanton building back up from injuries, the team is taking a cautious approach and managing their playing time over the remainder of the regular season. Since coming off the injured list Wednesday, Judge has started twice, going 1-for-10 with five strikeouts.
Sep 17 2020Judge isn't in Thursday's lineup against the Blue Jays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was expected to receive a day off Thursday as the team eases him back into action following his calf injury. Clint Frazier will take over in left field.
Sep 16 2020Judge is expected to be held out of action Thursday as part of a plan to build him back up, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge returned to the lineup Wednesday, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. Both he and Giancarlo Stanton are looking to get back into a rhythm after extended stays on the injured list, and the organization intends to ease them into action down the stretch. "Obviously Giancarlo is down today, then I'll have probably Aaron down tomorrow," manager Aaron Boone indicated prior to Wednesday's contest. "Then they'll go back-to-back days the next time, then into three and four in a row. We'll just kind of build it that way."
Sep 15 2020Judge (calf) is expected to be activated from the injured list before Friday's series opener against the Red Sox, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old had seven plate appearances during an intrasquad game Tuesday, and manager Aaron Boone said there is a "good chance" he returns prior to the weekend series. Judge has appeared in one game since Aug. 11 due to the calf strain, as he aggravated the injury after initially returning from the injured list. Assuming he is reinstated within the next few days, he'll be available for at least the final 10 games of the regular season.
Sep 14 2020Judge (calf) hit, ran and took the field in a simulated game Monday, Conor Foley of the Scranton Times-Tribune reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was expected to miss about three weeks when he landed on the injured list with a calf strain for the second time this season in late August. That time period will expire this Friday, and he appears to be roughly still on that timeline, with Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reporting that he's expected back at some point this week.
Sep 13 2020Stanton (calf) could start playing at the Yankees' alternate training site Monday, Max Goodman of Sports Illustrated reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He did baserunning and hit in the cage Sunday, so it seems he remains on track for a potential activation next weekend. Giancarlo Stanton and Gio Urshela are a little ahead of Judge in their progressions, so the Yankees could be getting three key hitters back within the next week.
Sep 11 2020Judge (calf) has a good chance to return by next weekend, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was expected to miss three weeks when he landed on the injured list with a strained calf two weeks ago, and it appears as though he's still on that same timeline. The Yankees are stuck in the middle of a very competitive playoff race, but there's little sense in them rushing Judge, who's already hit the injured list twice in this short season.
Sep 6 2020Judge (calf) could begin a "more aggressive" progression of baseball activities Monday, Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has already begun to ramp up activity of late, and he appears ready to push forward with the next step in his recovery soon. "He's had a couple of good days and started to ramp up a little bit. I think Monday we'll start the real progression as far as a lot of baseball activities, more aggressive with some of the running and the buildup," manager Aaron Boone stated Saturday. However, even if Judge makes quick progress, the Yankees figure to take a cautious approach to his activation given the fact that he's dealing with the recurrence of an injury.
Sep 4 2020Judge (calf) resumed baseball activities Friday, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been on the injured list for one week of what was projected to be a three-week stay. Assuming his recovery proceeds without setbacks, he'll be ready to return with approximately 10 days left in the regular season. Given that he's already on his second trip to the injured list of the season due to the same calf issue, however, the Yankees are likely to be quite cautious with him.
Sep 2 2020Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated Tuesday that the team does not have a timetable for when Judge (calf) will resume baseball activities but added that the slugger is feeling "pretty well," Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 28 with a three-week return estimate, so he's unlikely to return prior to the final two weeks of the season. Even if the slugger continues to feel good as he recovers, the Yankees aren't going to push his return to the lineup since the calf problem is a recurring issue that didn't go away after 11 days of rest the first time around. The hope in the organization is likely for Judge to come back in time to shake off any rust and be a healthy contributor for a potential postseason run.
Aug 28 2020Judge (calf) is heading back to the injured list, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: General manager Brian Cashman told fans on a Zoom call Thursday that the team will have to give Judge twice as long as the first time he was on the IL. He missed 11 days the first time around, so he may only return with a week left in the season, if he is able to return at all. There were reports the last time he was on the IL that he was feeling 100 percent, but this Grade 1 calf strain is clearly something that he has trouble playing through.
Aug 27 2020Judge (calf) underwent an MRI on Thursday and could return to the injured list, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge aggravated his calf injury Wednesday and was forced to exit the second game of the doubleheader. The results of his MRI aren't yet known, but manager Aaron Boone confirmed that he aggravated the same injury that he dealt with earlier in the season. Judge returned from the injured list Tuesday, but Boone said that he could require another stay on the IL.
Aug 26 2020Judge exited Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Braves with right calf tightness, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old went 1-for-3. His calf tightened up while running the bases, and he was removed during the sixth inning. It was Judge's first game action after he missed over two weeks with a right calf strain, so it's a concerning development for the Yankees. According to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic, manager Aaron Boone said a return trip to the injured list is possible, but specifics won't be known until Judge is further evaluated Thursday.
Aug 25 2020Judge (calf) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was sidelined for eight games due to a strained right calf, but he said throughout the Yankees' weekend layoff that he'd be available Tuesday. As expected, the 28-year-old was officially activated and should be available Tuesday against Atlanta. He carries a 1.101 OPS with nine home runs and 20 RBI over 17 games this year.
Aug 23 2020The Yankees plan to activate Judge (calf) from the 10-day injured list ahead of the team's next game Tuesday against the Braves, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will end up missing just eight games due to the strained right calf, as the Yankees haven't played since Thursday after their weekend series with the Mets was postponed due to COVID-19-related concerns. The slugger previously acknowledged that he didn't think he required a stint on the IL in the first place, and he seemingly proved his health by doing baserunning drills a few days ago before stepping in against Jordan Montgomery and J.A. Happ for live at-bats Sunday. Since Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) remains on the IL, the Yankees could ease Judge back into action as a designated hitter rather than deploying him at his normal spot in right field.
Aug 21 2020Judge (calf) will return from the injured list when the Yankees play their next game, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The date of that next game remains to be seen, as the Yankees' weekend series was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests for the Mets, but the possibility remains open that the pair could play a makeup game or two on their mutual off day Monday. Judge's calf strain was always considered minor, and he reportedly never wanted to head to the injured list, so it's no surprise to see that he's expected to be ready to go.
Aug 20 2020Judge (calf) took part in some running drills on the bases and in right field Thursday, David Lennon of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Based on Lennon's observations, Judge looked to be moving well during the short-burst sprints, offering another sign of optimism that he'll be ready to return from the injured list Saturday when first eligible. While the Yankees would ideally want to ensure that Judge's calf doesn't present any issues for him in the outfield, the team would have the luxury of initially using him as their designated hitter while Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) is sidelined.
Aug 18 2020Judge (calf) took batting practice Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is eligible to come off the injured list Saturday, and the Yankees remain hopeful that he'll be able to do so. His calf strain never appeared to be all that serious even with the trip to the injured list, as he said Monday that he already felt 100 percent.
Aug 16 2020Judge will resume hitting Monday and said he already feels 100 percent recovered from the calf strain that landed him on the injured list Saturday, Sweeny Murti of Sports Radio 66 WFAN reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The Yankees seemingly placed Judge on the IL out of an abundance of caution, as the slugger indicated that he "begged" the organization to give him a few days off rather than sidelining him for a full 10 days, according to James Wagner of The New York Times. Judge suggested that the calf issue sprung up as a consequence of the turf in Tampa Bay, and he said that he will switch from cleats to tennis shoes while playing defense in the park in the future. Given Judge's comments, it stands to reason that he will be activated from the injured list Aug. 22 after a minimum stay.
Aug 14 2020Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a mild calf strain, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was reportedly dealing with simple "lower-body tightness," but the issue is apparently worse than that and is severe enough for him to miss at least 10 days. The Yankees don't appear to be overly concerned about the issue, describing the strain as at worst Grade 1, but there's little sense in pushing things with their oft-injured star in a season in which 16 teams make the playoffs. Mike Tauchman and Clint Frazier should see an increase in playing time in his absence.
Aug 12 2020Judge will be absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta due to lower-body tightness, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The injury doesn't appear to be a major one, as Judge reportedly wanted to play, but the Yankees are being overly cautious and won't want to let tightness turn into a more serious injury for a player who has dealt with his fair share of absences over his five-year career. It's not clear where precisely Judge's issue is, with manager Aaron Boone mentioning his hips, hamstrings and calves, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The Yankees have a scheduled off day Thursday, so two straight days of rest could be enough for Judge to return to action Friday against Boston.
Aug 11 2020Judge went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-6 win over the Braves. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old launched a 432-foot shot to center field during the fifth inning and was lifted for a pinch hitter for the following frame, but according to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic, manager Aaron Boone just wanted to get him off his feet coming out of a four-game series on the turf in Tampa Bay. Judge owns a .290/.343/.758 slash line through 17 games and leads the majors with nine home runs.
Aug 8 2020Judge went 4-for-8 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI as the Yankees split Saturday's doubleheader with the Rays. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts during Friday's series opener, but he returned to form in Saturday's twin bill. Judge has a .309/.356/.782 slash line and a league-leading eight homers and 19 RBI through 15 games.
Aug 6 2020Judge is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will get a well-deserved breather after starting the first 11 games of the season, going 13-for-42 with seven home runs, 17 RBI and 12 runs scored over that stretch. Mike Tauchman is starting in right field and hitting leadoff Thursday.
Aug 5 2020Judge went 2-for-7 with a three-run home run during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Phillies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old had his homer streak stopped at five games Tuesday, but he picked up right where he left off with the three-run shot during the bottom of the seventh in the matinee, forcing the Phillies to burn closer Hector Neris in what was previously a blowout. Judge has a .310/.370/.857 slash line with seven homers, 12 runs and 17 RBI through 11 games.
Aug 2 2020Judge went 2-for-4 with two homers, five RBI and a walk in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge now has six long balls during his five-game homer streak. His first blast, a three-run homer to left field, gave the Yankees a 3-2 lead in the second inning. He then went deeper on a two-run blast in the eighth that put them ahead for good. Judge is up to six homers, 14 RBI, and 10 runs scored with a .290/.371/.903 slash line through eight games.
Aug 1 2020Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during Saturday's 5-2 win over the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old opened the scoring during the first inning Saturday, as he crushed a two-strike breaking ball 455 feet to left field. It's Judge's fourth straight game with a home run, and he now has nine RBI on the season. He also has 11 strikeouts and one walk through 30 plate appearances.
Jul 31 2020Judge went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and two strikeouts in Friday's win against the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge struggled with strikeouts once again Friday, but he made up for it with his third home run in as many games. The slugger put the Yankees ahead with his two-run homer in the third inning as the team eventually secured a 5-1 victory. Judge has a .974 OPS with eight RBI and 10 strikeouts to begin the season.
Jul 30 2020Judge went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge came through with a clutch, game-winning home run in the top of the ninth inning. It was his second long ball of the season, and his second in as many games. While he's striking out at a 36 percent clip, Judge has flashed his ability for power production early on this season.
Jul 29 2020Judge went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI while scoring three times in Wednesday's win over Baltimore. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge blasted a 386-foot homer to left field in the third inning to stake New York to a 3-1 lead. He added a run-scoring single in the sixth inning and also reached base via catcher's interference and on a hit-by-pitch. The big game was a nice turnaround for Judge after he went 0-for-9 with three strikeouts over his previous two games.
Jul 20 2020Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Monday's 2-2 exhibition tie against the Phillies. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge's homer will go down as a statistical oddity since it came after three outs had already been recorded in the inning as a result of an agreement between the two squads. The slugger is firing on all cylinders heading into the regular season -- he has now crushed three homers in the last two exhibition games.
Jul 16 2020Judge (neck) homered in an intrasquad game Wednesday and is expected to be good to go for Opening Day, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge sat out the team's previous three intrasquad contests while dealing with a stiff neck, but he was able to play right field in Wednesday's contest. The slugger homered off James Paxton in the first inning and worked a walk against Paxton his second time up. Manager Aaron Boone expressed confidence that Judge has practiced enough to be ready for Opening Day, with the Yankees set to face the Nationals on July 23.
Jul 15 2020Judge (neck) will play in Wednesday's intrasquad game, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had been dealing with a stiff neck since Saturday. The issue wasn't considered serious, though it remains to be seen whether or not he can get up to full speed with the Yankees' first game of the season just eight days away.
Jul 14 2020Manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Judge is feeling "much better today," Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 28-year-old was absent from the lineup for Tuesday's intrasquad game, but he was in the outfield shagging balls in batting practice after the game. Judge also participated in batting practice earlier Tuesday, so he appears to be nearing his return from the bout of neck stiffness that has limited him over the past few days.
Jul 13 2020Judge (neck) was feeling better Monday and was able to take some swings, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been limited over the past several days while battling neck stiffness, but he had a better range of motion Monday and was able to work in the batting cage and in the weight room. Manager Aaron Boone was unsure whether Judge would be able to play in Tuesday's intrasquad game, but the 27-year-old's progression Monday was certainly an encouraging step.
Jul 12 2020Judge (neck) could return for Tuesday's intrasquad matchup, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was scratched from Saturday's intrasquad lineup with neck stiffness and was held out again Sunday since his neck was "still a little stiff." However, manager Aaron Boone was hopeful that the right fielder will be able to return Tuesday. The team doesn't sound too concerned about the injury with Opening Day just under two weeks away.
Jul 11 2020Judge's stiff neck isn't considered a big deal, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was seemingly healthy at the start of camp after recovering from a stress fracture in his rib, an issue which dated back to the end of the 2019 season. It's not clear that the neck stiffness that caused him to skip Saturday's intrasquad game is related to that issue, and manager Aaron Boone wasn't overly concerned, saying, "It just locked up on him. Hopeful he can be in there tomorrow. I don't expect it to be a long-term thing."
Jul 6 2020Judge said he is game ready and feeling good after starting in right field and betting second in Monday's intrasquad game, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge added that the biggest thing leading up to Opening Day is getting the reps in and getting his timing down. He grounded out to third and struck out swinging in his two at-bats Monday. After being diagnosed in early March with a stress fracture in his first right rib, the 28-year-old slugger looks to be near full strength as the Yankees' July 23 opener against Max Scherzer and the Nationals draws closer.
Jul 3 2020Judge (rib) is swinging without pain, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though the report on Judge's health comes from a less-than-expert source -- teammate Gerrit Cole -- it nonetheless inspires more optimism that the slugger is over the hump in his recovery from a right rib fracture and will be ready to take the field on Opening Day. Cole's observation does come from firsthand experience; the Yankees' ace pitched to Judge in a simulated game Thursday.
Jul 2 2020Judge (rib) took live batting practice Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: This encouraging step in Judge's rehab comes shortly after it was reported that the Yankees are "very optimistic" about the slugger's status for the start of the season. The outfielder still has some hurdles to clear before any final determination is made regarding his Opening Day availability, but things are trending in the right direction.
Jun 30 2020Judge has hit off a machine and will face live pitching early in summer camp, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: These details help explain why the Yankees are reportedly "very optimistic" that Judge will be ready to play by Opening Day. News on Judge's progress from a right rib fracture has been sparse during the shutdown of play, with reports surfacing only recently that the slugger had begun hitting off a tee. Given the nature of Judge's injury, it seems likely that he'll be able to play at the start of the season if he is, in fact, able to face live pitching within the next week or two.
Jun 26 2020Judge (rib) has been hitting baseballs off a tee, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though Judge has yet to take part in full batting practice, his advancement to hitting off a tee is the first tangible sign of progress for the slugger since he was shut down from swinging in late February. The Yankees have privately remained optimistic that Judge will be able to take the field when the season begins in late July, and a report that he "didn't seem to be holding anything back" while swinging in the cage lends credence to this view. A better understanding of where Judge stands in his healing from a right rib fracture -- and his readiness for Opening Day -- should develop when the Yankees resume workouts next week.
Jun 24 2020The Yankees have privately expressed optimism that Judge (ribs) will be ready to play when the MLB season begins in late July, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Though MLB's three-plus-month shutdown has likely benefited Judge as he heals up from a fractured rib and partially deflated lung, his status for Opening Day -- which is expected to fall July 23 or 24 -- won't be determined until at some point after the Yankees resume full-team workouts next week. When the Yankees last updated Judge's status three weeks ago, the slugger had yet to swing a bat, so it's far from a given that he'll be fully recovered from the injury by the time games begin. Judge has shown in the past that he doesn't need a full season of at-bats to post big power numbers, but the high risk he has of missing games will loom larger than normal in an abbreviated campaign.
May 21 2020Yankees hitting coach Marcus Thames said Thursday that Judge (rib) has yet to resume swinging a bat, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. "When the doctors turn him loose, he'll be ready," Thames said. "He's champing at the bit to get out there." ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Thames' comments regarding where Judge stands in his recovery from a fractured right rib are seemingly positive, but until the slugger is able to complete some on-field work, the Yankees likely won't be able to offer a clear target date for his return to game action. General manager Brian Cashman said last week that he expects Judge to be ready to play during "summertime," but he wasn't willing to provide any specifics beyond that.
May 14 2020Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday that he doesn't think Judge (rib) will be back to full health and ready to play until "summertime," Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Cashman's timeline for the star slugger is fairly vague, and the fact that the Yankees haven't pinpointed a more definitive target date for Judge's return since he was diagnosed with the fractured right rib in early March suggests he won't be a lock to play right away whenever the MLB season resumes. The Yankees might gain more clarity on Judge's timeline when he receives another CT scan next week, but until he's back on the field working out in some capacity, it may be difficult to gauge where exactly he stands in his recovery from the injury.
May 12 2020Judge (rib) is likely to undergo another CT scan next week, and he's expected to need another after that, Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: While Judge has not experienced any setbacks, the slugger remains weeks away -- and possibly longer -- from being cleared to play. On a positive note, the 28-year-old is said to be healing fine, and with Opening Day expected to take place no sooner early July, the possibility of Judge being ready to go at the start of the campaign remains feasible.
May 5 2020Judge has shown "encouraging" progress in his recovery from a stress fracture in his first right rib, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, and will undergo another CT scan in "a couple more weeks," Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: "This time down has allowed that rib, that bone, to hopefully continue to heal," Boone stated on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM. "All signs are encouraging there and hopefully this time down allows that rib to heal properly and hopefully have him part all this as well." Boone's comments suggest Judge continues to make strides toward avoiding surgery and being able to return during a potential resumption of the MLB season. Still, the need for another CT scan is an indication that the slugger has yet to fully heal, so it remains too early to assume that he will be ready to take the field by Opening Day.
Apr 24 2020Judge (rib) has remained in Tampa to rehabilitate at the Yankees' training complex and has seen continued healing in his fractured rib, Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Yankees manager Aaron Boone commented on Judge's status Thursday, stating, "We're using this time, he's using this time to continue to heal. I don't really have much more for you other than, obviously, it's been very productive having the chance to have this time to allow that rib to heal. That is happening. But as for where he's at exactly, we don't have anything for you on that yet." A clear timeline for Judge's availability to take the field remains vague, but given his original hope that he could return to action by early May and the likelihood that a resumption of MLB play remains distant, it's not a stretch to believe that the slugger could be ready for Opening Day.
Apr 11 2020Judge (rib) has been rehabbing at the Yankees' training complex in Tampa and could take the next step in his recovery soon, Brendan Kuty of NJ Advance Media reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge recently appeared on "The Huddle" (an Instagram Live chat with NBA star Damian Lillard), stating that he should start doing "a little bit more...in about a week or two." That's a positive sign that his rehab has been going well, though the star outfielder has not swung a bat since being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right first rib in early March.
Mar 25 2020Judge is still waiting for the stress fracture in his first right rib to heal and won't be re-evaluated for a few more weeks, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The injury, which dates back to last September, wasn't diagnosed until early March. He's expected to avoid surgery, but that doesn't mean he'll be back on the field any time soon. There's no guarantee he's cleared to resume baseball activities when he's eventually re-evaluated, and once he is, he'll need a full preseason buildup before he's ready for game action. Whether he winds up ready to return before baseball itself is ready to return remains to be seen.
Mar 20 2020Judge told reporters Friday that the delayed start to the season should mean he won't have to undergo surgery on the stress fracture in his rib, Marly Rivera of ESPN reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: When tests revealed the stress fracture in Judge's first right rib in early March, he was faced with the decision to undergo surgery or hope that the issue would heal on its own with proper rest. He's so far elected to go the rest route, and a CT scan revealed Friday that the rib has indeed shown some improvement. He'll continue down that path for now, though his expected return date remains unclear.
Mar 17 2020Judge (ribs) could be ready to play by the time the regular season commences, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his first right rib in early March and was immediately expected to be on the injured list at the start of the regular season. That may no longer be the case, however, given Monday's announcement by Major League Baseball that Opening Day will not take place for at least eight weeks. Still, much will depend on how Judge's rib heals and whether he'll ultimately require surgery.
Mar 12 2020Judge (ribs) indicated Thursday that he's been cleared for workouts in the gym, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: While Judge won't be totally idle while he waits for his fractured rib to heal, he won't be able to resume on-field activities until doctors are satisfied with the results of his CT scans. The Yankees aren't putting a firm timeline on when Judge might be ready for game action, nor is it known at this point whether or not he'll require surgery to address the injury.
Mar 6 2020Judge is dealing with a stress fracture in his first right rib, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge had been out with soreness in his shoulder/pectoral area since the start of camp. He'd since resumed hitting and throwing, but the Yankees remained frustrated by their inability to discover the source of the problem. That's finally changed Friday, though drafters who took a chance on Judge despite the injury likely aren't happy to hear the news. Judge will be re-evaluated after two weeks of rest, with surgery potentially required, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. That timeline should officially rule Judge out for Opening Day, but his expected return date won't be clear until that two-week period is up.
Mar 5 2020Judge (pectoral/shoulder) said Thursday that he's scheduled to undergo additional tests in the coming days and isn't yet willing to rule himself out for Opening Day, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Since Opening Day is still three weeks away and Judge estimated that he would need only about 30 competitive at-bats in spring or simulated games to gear up for the season, the outfielder believes that the door isn't closed on him being ready by late March, even though general manager Brian Cashman admitted that it's an unlikely outcome. Before Judge can even resume workouts, however, doctors will first need to determine the exact nature of his injury. More clarity on that front could come after the latest round of tests, but for now, the Yankees are describing Judge's injury as right shoulder and right pectoral discomfort.
Mar 3 2020Judge's soreness has shifted from his right shoulder to his right pectoral muscle, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Team doctors have thus far been unable to identify the cause of Judge's pain, resulting in more tests and an uncertain timeline for the star outfielder. With Opening Day just over three weeks away, Yankees officials -- including general manager Brian Cashman -- have expressed the expectation that Judge will not be ready for the start of the season.
Mar 1 2020Judge (shoulder) was "doing better" Sunday after working with the training staff Saturday, Pete Caldera of NorthJersey.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Manager Aaron Boone expressed optimism about Judge's shoulder issue Sunday, though he couldn't provide clarity about what inspired the positive outlook aside from stating "It's just how I'm feeling." Per Boone, Judge's discomfort -- which is located near his armpit -- has not surfaced while throwing and is only present when he swings a bat. There's still a chance Judge could be ready for Opening Day, though the team's inability to pinpoint the cause of the outfielder's discomfort suggests he won't be getting into a game anytime soon.
Feb 29 2020Judge (shoulder) underwent an MRI -- which came back negative -- after feeling more discomfort following a hitting session Friday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been battling a shoulder problem all camp, though the latest round of discomfort was reportedly near his pectoral muscle. Despite his MRI showing no issues, he's scheduled for more tests Monday. Manager Aaron Boone remains optimistic that the slugger will be in his Opening Day lineup, but Judge remains without a clear timetable for now.
Feb 28 2020Judge (shoulder) took indoor batting practice Friday for the second straight day, Pete Caldera of NorthJersey.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The activity is a progression from the soft-toss that Judge took part in earlier in the week, though the outfielder has yet to hit on the field. Should he move up to that level in the coming days, Judge could see game action at the end of next week.
Feb 25 2020Judge (shoulder) could make his spring debut next week, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been dealing with shoulder soreness since the start of camp. He's been able to hit soft-toss and increase his throwing distance to 120 feet, but the Yankees are understandably building him up slowly this spring. There haven't been any indications that Judge's readiness for Opening Day is seriously threatened, but there's little reason not to be cautious with a player who has averaged just 107 games over the last two seasons.
Feb 24 2020Judge (shoulder) hit off a tee, participated in soft-toss drills, and threw from 90 feet Monday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: While Monday marked the first time Judge has taken part in soft-toss, he's now hit off a tee four consecutive days, and the fact that his daily routine includes throwing suggests that he is progressing from the right shoulder injury that has hampered his start to spring training. While manager Aaron Boone indicated that there is no date set for Judge to play in a game, his status for Opening Day remains optimistic.
Feb 21 2020Judge (shoulder) hit off an indoor tee Friday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The original reports surrounding Judge's shoulder soreness held that he'd be shut down from hitting for about a week, but he's back in the cage just three days later. His availability for Opening Day doesn't appear to be at risk.
Feb 20 2020Judge (shoulder) will resume his hitting program Friday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge was shut down earlier in the week due to shoulder soreness, but he's expected to ramp things up Friday after taking some time off to rest and recover. The outfielder will hit in the cage before ultimately progressing to live batting practice. Assuming his return to hitting goes off without a hitch, Judge should be ready to make his spring debut at some point next week or in early March.
Feb 19 2020Judge (shoulder) will return to swinging within the next couple days, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The news contradicts previous reports which suggested that Judge wouldn't swing a bat for a full week. The outfielder's start to camp has been delayed while he receives maintenance for a sore shoulder, but his readiness for Opening Day doesn't appear to be at risk.
Feb 18 2020Judge's shoulder soreness is considered minor, but he's shut down from hitting for about a week and won't play in the Yankees' spring opener Saturday against Toronto, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge has been feeling soreness for a few weeks, but an MRI didn't reveal any major issues. The outfielder's start to the regular season isn't expected to be delayed, and the Yankees are framing the issue as simply an abundance of caution, but it's certainly not a good sign to see Judge's shoulder barking already at the start of camp.
Jan 10 2020Judge signed a one-year, $8.5 million contract with New York on Friday, avoiding arbitration. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge and the Yankees will avoid a hearing by reaching an agreement prior to the deadline. He was limited to 102 games in 2019 due to injury, hitting 27 homers and driving in 55 runs over that stretch.
Sep 30 2019Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge plated the Yankees' only run of the game with a 408-foot homer in the third inning. Injuries cost the 27-year-old two months of the campaign but Judge nonetheless finishes with 27 homers for the second straight season while his 5.4 WAR is just a tick below the 5.5 mark he established in 2018. He'll enter the postseason on a power surge as he went deep five times over his final 10 games.
Sep 30 2019Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday.
Sep 27 2019Judge will sit Friday against the Rangers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge will get a breather as the Yankees get ready for postseason action next week. He's hitting just .233 in September, but his .918 OPS this month is slightly above his season mark of .912. Cameron Maybin will start in right field Friday.
Sep 23 2019Judge went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over Toronto on Sunday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got the Yankees on the board with a 420-foot shot to center field in the first inning. The homer was his fourth in the last six games and seventh overall in September. Despite missing two months of the season with an oblique injury, Judge has a legitimate shot to reach 30 homers this season, though he'll need a big final week to achieve the milestone. He has launched 26 homers in 364 at-bats in 2019 while collecting 54 RBI and crossing the plate 73 times.
Sep 20 2019Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and walk during a 4-3 loss against the Blue Jays on Friday. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: The 27-year-old smashed a towering fly ball for his 25th homer of the season. That total and some of his other numbers are a little disappointing but injuries have been the major reason for the low output this year. Judge is batting .272 with 25 home runs, 53 RBI, 70 runs and three steals in 356 at-bats this year.
Sep 19 2019Judge is out of Thursday's lineup as a precaution following him landing on his shoulder during a diving catch Wednesday, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: He will not be sent for tests, so it sounds like Judge should be back in Friday's lineup after this rest day. Manager Aaron Boone informed Judge on Wednesday night that he would not be in Thursday's lineup. Clint Frazier is starting in right field in his place.
Sep 16 2019Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's loss to Toronto. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge got the Yankees on the board in the first inning with a solo shot to right field. The long ball was his fourth in 46 at-bats this month and his 14th overall since the All-Star break. Judge is slashing .272/.384/.519 with 23 homers and 50 RBI in 93 games this season.
Sep 13 2019Judge's day off Friday is unrelated to his collision with the outfield wall during Thursday's doubleheader against Detroit, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge slammed hard against the right-field wall while making a catch in Game 2 of the twin bill and appeared to be limping while coming off the field, but manager Aaron Boone indicated before Friday's game that Judge's knee is fine and that the decision to rest him was a consequence of the slugger playing all 18 innings Thursday. Judge himself brushed off the collision, quipping "Did you ask the wall?" when prompted with a question about his knee following the doubleheader, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
Sep 10 2019Judge isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge is off to a rough start to September, going 6-for-32 over eight games, though he has clubbed a pair of homers over that stretch. Tyler Wade will man right field and hit ninth Tuesday.
Sep 8 2019Judge went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Red Sox. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: Judge singled to drive in a run in the third inning and belted a solo homer to left field in the fifth. The slugger has has gotten off to a rough start in September, hitting only .143 (4-for-28) while striking out 10 times, but two of his four hits have left the yard. He is slashing .269/.373/.508 with 21 homers and 47 RBI in 384 plate appearances this season.
Sep 4 2019Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. ROTOWIRE RECOMMENDS: His third-inning blast off Lance Lynn would prove to be all the offense the Yankees's staff would need on the night. Judge missed two months earlier this season with an oblique strain but he's been making up for lost time lately, hitting .317 over his last 15 games with eight long balls and 12 RBI, and the power surge has allowed him to reach 20 homers for the third straight season.

Jul 21 2018Judge went 3-for-4 with a single, a double and a solo homer Saturday against the Mets. The homer, Judge's 26th of the year, was a seventh-inning solo shot off Tim Peterson. He's on pace for 43 homers, not quite the 52-homer output he produced last season, but still an excellent number. He's been able to maintain a solid .286 batting average on top of that despite a 30.6 percent strikeout rate.
Jul 2 2018Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two walks in Monday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta.Judge blasted a home run in the first inning to give the Yankees an early 1-0 lead. He's homered in four of his last six games and is 8-for-24 with five RBI over that span. Despite a decent .279 batting average with 41 extra-base hits and 56 RBI, Judge has racked up an alarming 111 strikeouts in 298 at-bats.
Jul 1 2018Judge went 3-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and three runs scored Sunday against the Red Sox.Judge took David Price deep in his first at-bat of the game and didn't slow down from there, failing to reach base only once. He continues to strike out at a prolific rate, with this being the first time he hasn't struck out at least once in his last 12 starts. That can be forgiven so long as he continues to provide power, and there is little indication that will stop anytime soon as he has four homers in his past 10 games.
Jun 27 2018Judge is not in the lineup against Philadelphia on Wednesday, Mike Mazzeo of the New York Daily News reports.Judge will receive a breather following 15 straight starts, during which he slashed .309/.409/.509 with two home runs and seven RBI. Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks and Giancarlo Stanton will man the outfield for Wednesday's series finale. Look for Judge to return to the starting lineup against Boston on Friday.
Jun 20 2018Judge went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two strikeouts in Wednesday's win over the Mariners.Judge got the Yankees on the board in the fifth inning with a single that plated two, though he was only credited for one RBI due to Denard Span's misplay of the ball in left field. The 26-year-old continues to strikeout at a high clip (30.8 percent), but he's turning in another strong season with a .281/.397/.558 line to go along with 18 homers and 48 RBI.
Jun 16 2018Judge went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Saturday's 4-1 win over Tampa Bay.Judge now has a modest five-game hitting streak, and is 8-for-18 with four doubles in that stretch. The 26-year-old now has a .283/.399/.574 slash line with 18 home runs and 89 strikeouts in 244 at-bats this season.
Jun 10 2018Judge isn't in Sunday's lineup against the Mets, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's tilt, and although he suffered a minor thumb injury during Friday's game, his absence from the lineup doesn't appear injury related. He'll be replaced in right field by Giancarlo Stanton, who's slated to bat second.
Jun 9 2018Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Mets.Judge's status in the lineup Saturday was questionable after he suffered a thumb injury in Friday's matchup, but he quieted any fear regarding the severity of the injury by going yard in the eighth inning. It turned out to be the game winning run and was his 18th home run of the season. That's good enough for fourth in the American League, and he also ranks among the league leaders in RBI, runs scored and slugging percentage.
Jun 9 2018Judge (thumb) is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.Judge underwent X-rays Saturday morning, but they came back negative and he should be good to go, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports. Judge has gone 1-for-16 with a home run and three RBI over his last four games.
Jun 8 2018Judge jammed his left thumb during a slide in the first inning of Friday's matchup against the Mets, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.Judge was able to stay in the game after getting his thumb taped up. He stated "we'll run some tests before I come to the stadium, but all's well so far." He'll be listed as day-to-day, although it's unclear if he'll be forced to miss any time with the injury.
Jun 6 2018Judge went 1-for-5 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-0 extra-innings win over the Blue jays. After the two teams traded goose eggs for 12 innings, Judge and Giancarlo Stanton finally broke the game open in the 13th with back-to-back homers. Judge now has 17 long balls on the season to go along with a solid .274/.401/.566 slash line.
Jun 5 2018Judge isn't in Tuesday's starting lineup against the Blue Jays, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.Judge will get a day to regroup after striking out eight times in Monday's doubleheader. Giancarlo Stanton is slated to take over in right field and will bat second.
Jun 1 2018Judge went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's victory against Baltimore.Judge tacked on an insurance run in the seventh inning, pushing the Yankees' lead to three. He's in the midst of a modest three-game hitting streak, with two home runs and two RBI over that span.
May 26 2018Judge went 2-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-4 loss to the Angels. The homer was his third in the last five games and 14th of the season. Judge has been running hot or cold lately, putting together multi-hit performances in four of his last nine games but going hitless in the other five, but despite his inconsistency he still carries an impressive .287/.420/.580 slash line on the season.
May 23 2018Judge went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 12-10 loss to the Rangers. His 13th homer of the season came as part of a six-run fifth inning that gave the Yankees a seemingly solid 10-5 lead at the game's midway point. Judge now sports a .284/.412/.568 slash line, and his 38 RBI in 47 games puts him well on pace to top last season's 114.
May 12 2018Judge went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in Friday's 10-5 loss to the A's.His fifth-inning blast to the opposite field off Kendall Graveman brought the Yankees to within a run at 5-4, but they never got any closer. Judge now has 10 homers on the year, including three in his last four games, and his .309/.439/.590 slash line through 38 games puts him ahead of his impressive rookie pace in both batting average and OBP.
May 12 2018Judge went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer Saturday against the Athletics. The homer -- Judge's 11th of the year -- was a fifth-inning shot off Andrew Triggs. Judge has homered in back-to-back games and three of his last four. He's riding a six-game hitting streak, with 13 RBI over that span.
May 9 2018Judge went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a walk, three RBI and three runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.Judge had been cooling off a bit of late, entering Wednesday's tilt on a 6-for-32 (.188) stretch, but he was able to break out of it with his fourth three-hit day of the season. The counting stats figure to be there all season for the reigning AL rookie of the year, but he's also sporting solid ratios to go along with them. Through 36 games, Judge has a .308/.429/.579 slash line.
Apr 30 2018Judge is not in the lineup Monday against the Astros, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.Judge has been a staple of the Yankees' lineup, hitting .317 with seven homers in 27 games. He'll get his first day off of the season Monday though, allowing Giancarlo Stanton to pick up a start in right field while Gary Sanchez takes over as the designated hitter and Austin Romine logs a start behind the plate to fill the void in the lineup.
Apr 29 2018Judge went 3-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 11-1 win over the Angels. It's his second three-hit performance in five days, pushing Judge's slash line on the season to .330/.463/.608 with seven homers, 18 RBI and 24 runs in 26 games. The entire Yankees' offense is on fire at the moment, and with Judge stationed in the two-hole, he should continue to reap the rewards when it comes to counting stats even if his batting average begins to sag.
Apr 24 2018Judge went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, two runs scored and one RBI on Tuesday against the Twins.Judge continued his prolific production to start the season, hitting his seventh home run of the season in the seventh inning. He has shown improvement in his strikeout rate early in his second full major league season, the only major flaw in his hitting profile last season. He is locked in as a contributor in all five traditional rotisserie categories and shows no signs of slowing down.
Apr 21 2018Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Blue Jays.Judge's home run was a two-out, two-run shot in the third inning off Marcus Stroman. The slugger is starting the year by posting numbers even better than those that earned him a second-place finish in the AL MVP race last season, hitting .338/.472/.634 through 89 plate appearances. His .419 BABIP suggests things will cool off somewhat, though his ability to absolutely crush the ball lends itself to higher-than-average BABIPs, as his career figure stands at .356.
Apr 19 2018Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday against the Blue Jays.Judge provided a needed insurance run with his home run in the seventh inning off right-hander Tyler Clippard. He has shown no signs of slowing down in his second full season at the major-league level producing a 1.110 OPS in 62 at-bats. He remains an elite fantasy asset.
Apr 17 2018Judge went 2-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season, two RBI and two runs in the Yankees' 12-1 trouncing of the Marlins on Monday.Judge's second-inning homer was his 60th in 197 career games, surpassing Mark McGwire (202 games) as the fastest player in MLB history to reach that milestone. Though big offseason pickup Giancarlo Stanton (.210/.310/.435 line through 71 plate appearances) hasn't met expectations thus far, the early season performances of Judge and shortstop Didi Gregorius (five home runs) have continued to make the Yankees' heart of the order treacherous for opposing pitchers. In addition to supplying his usual pop, Judge has also reduced his strikeout rate from 30.7 to 23.9 percent, offering hope that last season's .284 average may be attainable once again.
Apr 5 2018Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in New York's 5-2 loss to the Orioles on Thursday. It was the second-straight game with a long ball for the towering slugger after he went the first five games of the season without one. He's now hitting .280 with a .419 on base percentage in 25 at-bats and looks like could be gearing up for one of the patented hot streaks that made him one of the league's breakout stars last season.
Apr 4 2018Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, a walk and two runs scored Wednesday against the Rays.It was Judge's first homer of the season after leading the American League with 52 a year ago. He was one of three Yankees to hit a two-run bomb in Wednesday's win, joining fellow sluggers Giancarlo Stanton and Gary Sanchez. The 25-year-old, who is hitting .286/.444/.476 through six games this season, has now collected three hits and all three of his RBI on the year in the previous two games.
Mar 30 2018Manager Aaron Boone said that Judge could see a little time in center field until Jacoby Ellsbury (oblique) or Aaron Hicks (ribs) return from the disabled list, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. With Hicks landing on the 10-day DL prior to Friday's game, the Yankees are now dealing with three major-league caliber outfielders on the shelf, including Clint Frazier (concussion), who is expected to open the year with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Considering Ellsbury may return Thursday, seeing Judge is center may only happen once or twice, if it materializes at all. Expect to see Brett Gardner manning the position for a majority of the next week.
Mar 23 2018Manager Aaron Boone placed Judge atop the order for Friday's Grapefruit League game against Boston, and may consider keeping him there for the start of the 2018 season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.Mike Trout was the only player in the American League who had a better on-base percentage (.442) than Judge last season (.422), which has given Boone pause when contemplating the alignment of his lineup. For Friday's spring game, Judge will be followed by Giancarlo Stanton, Greg Bird and then Gary Sanchez, with Brett Gardner hitting out of the nine-hole. Judge remarked that "there's all different types of leadoff hitters," going as far as mentioning George Springer of the Astros, who can provide power numbers out of the spot. The outfielder admitted that he hasn't sat atop the order since his high school days, and that he only hit there once, but that he's open to anything. Though this is just an experiment with Opening Day approaching next week, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Judge batting leadoff every once in a while.
Mar 22 2018Judge went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and walks and four RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Orioles in Grapefruit League play.Judge got off to a delayed start to the spring while recovering from offseason surgery on his left shoulder, but the outfielder seems to be finding his power stroke as Opening Day approaches. Slated to hit out of the two hole this season, Judge could approach or even surpass the 128 runs he amassed during Rookie of the Year-winning campaign while slotting in front of fellow masher Giancarlo Stanton.
Mar 8 2018Judge (shoulder) is on track to be ready for Opening Day, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.Judge was eased into spring training after undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery in November, but he appears to be close to 100 percent after appearing in a handful of Grapefruit League games. "When I first got down here, there was a little soreness left in there but this past week especially, it's pain-free, no soreness, been feeling great," the slugger said. This is certainly encouraging, as Judge stated earlier in camp that he didn't expect to feel 100 percent until Opening Day. Now that his shoulder is pain free, he should have plenty of time to get up to speed before the start of the season.
Mar 2 2018Judge (shoulder) played five innings in right field and went 0-for-1 with a walk Friday against the Braves. As planned, Judge received his first spring reps in right field Friday. Judge is going to be rehabbing his shoulder until Opening Day, so his early exit from the game was a precautionary measure to allow the slugger to rest his ailment. Moving forward, the Yankees will likely have judge continue spending time in the outfield while also using him as their designated hitter for the rest of spring training.
Feb 27 2018Judge (shoulder) will receive playing time as the Yankees' designated hitter in Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports. It was recently reported that Judge's shoulder wasn't expected to be fully healthy until Opening Day. Despite this, he'll still see playing time over the course of the spring, although the team will surely be careful not to rush him back to action. New York is opting to have Judge serve as the DH on Wednesday so that Giancarlo Stanton can receive a start in right field, then will deploy Judge in right for Friday's matchup with the Braves.
Feb 26 2018Judge (shoulder) is scheduled to make his spring training debut Wednesday game against the Tigers, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. As expected, Judge is set to make his Grapefruit League debut after being held out for the first week of the spring season in an attempt to ease him back into action following arthroscopic shoulder surgery in November. The 25-year-old has been taking batting practice with no issues for around a week now and should have no trouble getting up to speed with his teammates.
Feb 26 2018Judge (shoulder) will play in his first spring training game Wednesday, but stated Monday night that he likely won't be fully healthy until the start of the season, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports. All signs pointed to Judge having returned to health after it was announced he'd play in his first spring training game Wednesday, but the 25-year-old slugger says differently. He stated his shoulder will be "a work in progress until Opening Day" and that he isn't feeling completely healthy just yet. Judge is expected to be eased back into the swing of things during camp. He also offered up that part of the recovery process is mental and he's continuing to work on trusting his repaired left shoulder.
Feb 21 2018Judge (shoulder) will sit out the first week of Grapefruit League games but could return to the field around the beginning of March, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. In an expected move, manager Aaron Boone said that the team will hold Judge out for the beginning of the spring season while he eases back into the swing of things following arthroscopic surgery in November. The outfielder was able to partake in batting practice earlier this week and appears to be fully healthy, but you can't blame the Yankees for exhibiting extreme caution with their superstar. Expect him to ramp up his activity throughout the course of the spring.
Feb 18 2018Judge (shoulder) is scheduled to take full batting practice Monday in the Yankees' first full-squad workout of spring training, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.Judge's involvement in batting practice is a good sign that the Yankees aren't worried about his left shoulder, which required arthroscopic surgery in November to remove a bone spur. Yankees manager Aaron Boone has suggested the team plans to ease Judge back into action, so he could be help out of the early portion of New York's Grapefruit League schedule before ramping up his at-bats in the week or two leading up to Opening Day.
Feb 14 2018Judge will take it easy during the first couple weeks of spring training after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder in November, Brendan Kuty of NJ.com reports. The club is expectedly trying to be super cautious with their star outfielder in order to make sure that he's fully healthy heading into the beginning of the season. At this point, it's clear that Judge has recovered from the offseason surgery, but the Yankees don't want him to risk pushing it too hard during meaningless spring games.
Nov 21 2017Judge underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Monday to remove a loose body and clean up cartilage. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, and the good news is that Judge is expected to be ready prior to the start of spring training. The slugging outfielder dealt with some shoulder issues during the second half of last season, and while he tried to downplay the issue, it may have contributed to his drop-off in production after the All-Star break. He still posted an impressive .284/.422/.627 line with 52 homers, 114 RBI and nine stolen bases in 155 games for the Yankees. A fully healthy Judge should be poised for another big year at the plate in 2018.

Oct 1 2017Judge is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.Over the last seven games, Judge has hit six home runs and accumulated 12 RBI. He'll get the day off so that he can be well-rested headed into Tuesday's wild-card game versus the Twins. Tyler Austin will head to right field in his place.
Sep 29 2017Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Thursday's loss to Tampa Bay.After a disappointing month-and-a-half stretch to begin the second half, Judge has caught fire in September. He's up to 14 homers, 30 RBI and 27 runs with a .310/.460/.893 for the month. It's been a monster campaign for the rookie, and it's especially encouraging that he's locked in at the dish heading into the postseason when the stakes are highest.
Sep 25 2017Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, a walk and three RBI in Monday's win over the Royals.Judge's remarkable season continues; his third and seventh-inning long balls -- his 49th and 50th on the season -- tied and broke Mark McGwire's rookie record set back in 1987, and he's now homered against every American League team. The 25-year-old has fully shaken off his second-half slump and is in the midst of his best stretch of the season -- Monday marked Judge's fourth two-homer game in his last 14 contests, a stretch over which he's hitting a healthy .395 with 11 homers and 21 RBI.
Sep 24 2017Judge went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays. The homers were number 47 and 48, leaving Judge just one shy of tying the rookie mark in that department. With a .296 average and 11 homers in September, it appears that Judge has fully shrugged off his second-half slump and will now get to play all seven remaining games at home in the friendly confines of Yankee Stadium.
Sep 22 2017Judge went 2-for-2 with a double, a homer and two walks Friday against the Blue Jays.Judge blasted his 46th homer of the season to give the Yankees a short-lived lead in the first inning of a road defeat. After hitting just three homers in the month of August, he's come back with a vengeance with a red-hot September and he's resembled the fantasy superstar that took the league by storm earlier in the season.
Sep 20 2017Judge went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Twins. His opposite-field shot off Bartolo Colon pushed Judge's home-run total to 45 on the season, and a sac fly later in the game pushed him over 100 RBI. As Jared Diamond of The Wall Street Journal points out, Judge is the first player in history with 45 homers, 100 RBI and 100 runs scored in their rookie season. After a prolonged lull coming out of the All-Star break, Judge has found his form again -- he has eight homers and an OPS over 1.000 in the month of September.
Sep 14 2017Judge went 3-for-6 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs during Thursday's win over Baltimore.Don't look now, but Judge has six homers, 13 RBI and 13 runs through his past 10 games. He was never going to maintain his first-half pace, so while his lengthy slump to start the second half was discouraging, it shouldn't have been shocking. A strong September will position Judge among the top fantasy hitters, and at just 25, he still has his prime years ahead.
Sep 13 2017Judge is out of the lineup against the Rays on Wednesday, Erik Boland of Newsday Sports reports.Judge will occupy a seat on the bench following six straight starts, going 4-for-20 (.200 average) with three home runs and five RBI at the plate during that span. In his place, Clint Frazier draws the assignment in right.
Sep 10 2017Judge went 2-for-2 with two home runs, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's 16-7 rout of the Rangers.Judge normally does most of his damage at Yankee Stadium, but he felt right at home at the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington. The hulking rookie is unlikely to catch up to league leader Giancarlo Stanton's 54 home runs, but his 41 long balls are good enough for sole possession of second in MLB. Judge has reached base in seven consecutive games while launching four homers in that stretch, suggesting he's finally heating back up at the plate after slumping ever since the All-Star break.
Sep 7 2017Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored during Thursday's win over Baltimore. This was just the ninth long fly of the second half for Judge, and he entered Thursday's game with a disappointing .183/.350/.355 slash line since the All-Star break. While a bounce-back September is still within reach, it's probably wise to expect Judge to fall somewhere in between his two halves of the season moving forward.
Sep 2 2017Judge is starting in right field and hitting cleanup Saturday against the Red Sox.He has now hit fourth, sixth and second in his last three games, but the four hole is likely where he will slot in most days going forward. Judge is hitting .186/.352/.349 with three home runs and 38 strikeouts in his last 25 games.
Sep 1 2017Judge is starting in right field and hitting second Friday against the Red Sox.He moves up to second in the order after sixth and fourth in the last two games. Judge gets the coveted spot in the order ahead of Gary Sanchez, who is red hot at the dish. The hulking right fielder is hitting just .179/.346/.344 since the All-Star break.
Aug 31 2017Judge is batting sixth in the order against the Red Sox on Thursday.Judge finally falls in the lineup card while dealing with a prolonged slump and an ailing shoulder. The 25-year-old is hitting just .181/.342/.349 in the second half of this season, and manager Joe Girardi is looking for something to get him back on track. Judge will man right field for the series opener.
Aug 30 2017Judge (shoulder) is starting in right field and hitting cleanup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Indians. He appeared as a pinch hitter and struck out in Game 1, and will get the start in the nightcap after being out of the lineup for the last three games with the sore shoulder. Judge is hitting .186/.346/.337 with three home runs and 39 strikeouts in 86 at-bats this month, but his ailing shoulder has likely played a part in those struggles.
Aug 30 2017Judge (shoulder) is out of the lineup Wednesday for the first game of the Yankees' doubleheader against the Indians. After Tuesday's contest was postponed due to rain, manager Joe Girardi intimated that Judge, who has been nursing a sore left shoulder lately, would play in at least one contest of the twin bill, so it appears the Yankees will wait until Game 2 to insert the All-Star back into the starting nine. With Judge sitting out the afternoon affair, Jacoby Ellsbury will enter the lineup in center field and bat eighth.
Aug 29 2017Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Judge, who has been experiencing pain in his left shoulder in recent days, would "absolutely" play in one game of the team's doubleheader with the Indians on Wednesday, John Chandler of NBC 4 New York reports. Before Tuesday's game was postponed due to rain, Judge was set to remain on the bench for a second straight contest, as the Yankees' didn't list him in their starting nine, according to Erik Boland of Newsday. The rainout will offer Judge an additional day to recover from the shoulder issue, but it doesn't sound as though Girardi is keen on having the All-Star play both contests of the twin bill. Assuming Judge makes it through one of the games Wednesday without incident, he should take back a full-time role in the outfield or at designated hitter heading into the club's four-game series with the Red Sox beginning Thursday.
Aug 28 2017Judge is expected to sit out Tuesday's game against the Indians, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.Manager Joe Girardi said that he hopes that giving Judge a couple days off will help the rookie slugger get back on track, as he's slashed a bleak .179/.341/.352 since the All-Star break. Judge is out of the lineup Monday, and is expected to sit out Tuesday as well. Until the Yankees opt to deploy Judge in their lineup again, expect Aaron Hicks to patrol right field.
Aug 28 2017Judge is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Indians. For the first time since Aug. 3, Judge is being withheld from the Yankees' starting lineup. Judge, who's posted a disappointing .186 batting average during the month of August, will head to the bench while Aaron Hicks is deployed in right field. Judge should be back in action for Tuesday's contest against Cleveland.
Aug 28 2017Judge has been receiving regular treatment on his left shoulder, Judge has been seen around the Yankees clubhouse wearing ice wraps regularly in recent days. So are many players as we head into the home stretch, but this is Judge's first season facing the 162-game grind of the major leagues. Although Judge says the shoulder is fine, manager Joe Girardi indicated Judge is the kind of player who would gladly play through pain. The Yankees will hope a couple of days off to open this week will get him fully prepared for the season's final month.
Aug 22 2017Judge went 1-for-1 with three walks, an RBI and two runs against the Tigers on Tuesday. Thus ends his stretch of 37 consecutive games with a strikeout, a stretch in which Judge hit a miserable .176/.335/.351. Drawing walks obviously hasn't been a problem for the massive rookie slugger, but it's certainly noteworthy that this brutal slump came almost entirely in the aftermath of his monstrous Home Run Derby performance during the All-Star festivities. Although Judge should be expected to rebound in the power department, it's hard to ask for much help in batting average from a guy who's striking out more than 30 percent of the time.
Aug 22 2017Manager Joe Girardi said after Sunday's game that he plans to keep Judge in the No. 3 spot in the batting order, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.Judge's line through 35 second-half games is a far cry from what he did prior to the All-Star break, but the 25-year-old has been adamant that he's healthy. While Judge did have his left shoulder heavily wrapped following Sunday's game, he said twice that the shoulder "doesn't bother me at all," and Girardi said he thinks the struggles stem from mechanical issues rather than an injury. Judge has struck out in 37 consecutive games and 62 times in total over his last 160 plate appearances.
Aug 16 2017Judge went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Mets.He became just the second player in Citi Field history, after Yoenis Cespedes, to reach the upper deck in left field with his fourth-inning blast off Robert Gsellman. Judge continues to lead the AL with 37 homers, but his .185 (20-for-108) batting average since the All-Star break has made his power output a little harder to swallow for fantasy GMs.
Aug 3 2017Judge is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Indians, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.Judge has just two hits over his last five starts (2-for-17), so he'll get the day off to clear his head. Clint Frazier is starting in his place in right field, batting second.
Jul 28 2017Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Friday against the Rays.Judge blasted 33rd bomb of the season, as he was one of three Yankees to homer off Austin Pruitt to help the Yankees pick up a home victory. The rookie continues to carry fantasy teams with his amazing .308/.430/.644 slash line.
Jul 27 2017Judge chipped a tooth during the Yankees' walkoff celebration but will be available to play Friday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports. The slugger was hit by an errant batting helmet during the Yankees' celebration of a Brett Gardner walkoff home run over the Rays, but the injury is not expected to force Judge to miss any time. Judge went 1-for-5 with a strikeout in his return to the lineup Thursday. Barring a change in Judge's status, he figures to draw into his usual No.3 spot in the lineup against Austin Pruitt and the Rays.
Jul 26 2017Judge is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Reds.Judge has started each of the past five games and is slashing just .171/.340/.317 since the All-Star break, so the team will give him a chance to clear his head for Wednesday's matinee. The recent regression in the rookie's overall numbers is to be partly expected after a monster first half of the season, but he should continue to be a top fantasy asset while he looks to build on his 32 home runs. Clint Frazier takes over right field in his stead.
Jul 26 2017Judge is "a little banged up" according to manager Joe Girardi, but is expected to return to the lineup for Thursday's series opener against Tampa Bay, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.Girardi also stated that Judge's day off is "nothing serious" although the right fielder did bang into the outfield wall during the eighth-inning of Tuesday's game while attempting to make a lunging play. The contact didn't appear to cause any harm and Judge stayed in the game, but adding that on top of five consecutive starts gave Girardi a good reason to give his star the day off. In his place, Clint Frazier draws the start in right while Jacoby Ellsbury slides into center.
Jul 21 2017Judge homered and drove in four runs in a 1-for-2 game with a walk Friday night against the Mariners.Hopefully that will mark the end of a second half-opening slump from Judge, who was 4-for-29 since the break entering Friday's game. The fact that judge added productive plate appearances with a walk and sacrifice fly to his home run suggest he just might be seeing the ball well again.
Jul 19 2017Judge will sit Wednesday's game against Minnesota, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.Despite the two-hit game Tuesday, Judge is only 3-for-25 since he competed in the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game, so Wednesday's off day will serve as a mental reset for the Bronx slugger. Clint Frazier is in line to get the start at right field in his wake.
Jul 17 2017Judge went 0-for-3 with an intentional walk Monday against the Twins, falling to 1-for-21 since the All-Star break. He added an outfield assist on the defensive side in the 4-2 loss.Judge nailed the speedy Brian Dozier at home with a brilliant throw from deep right field in the bottom of the third, then made a heads-up baserunning play going from first to third on a single in the top of the next half-inning. He looked much better in his final at-bat of the contest despite making an out, driving a long fly ball after nine pitches. The slumping rookie is still doing the little things right, and is simply too good not to turn things around before long.
Jul 7 2017Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Friday against the Brewers.Judge crushed his 30th homer of the season to erase a one-run deficit in the fifth inning of a home loss. His amazing rookie season shows no signs of slowing down, as he's slashing a ridiculous .330/.448/.701.
Jul 4 2017Judge hit his 28th homer and struck out in his other three at-bats in Tuesday's loss to Toronto. He brought home the Yankees' only run and is making a serious play for 30 homers before the All-Star break, but Judge has also now cleared 100 strikeouts for the season. Judge has been brutalizing the ball, but his .423 BABIP and 40.6 HR/FB are marks even a roided-out Barry Bonds couldn't sustain for a full season. Expect some second-half regression to more normal stats, but that doesn't mean Judge won't continue returning excellent value in fantasy.
Jul 1 2017Judge is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. This marks the first game out of the lineup for Judge since May 25. In his place, Clint Frazier makes his major-league debut in right field while Gary Sanchez takes over the designated hitting duties.
Jun 24 2017Judge went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Rangers.Another day, another home run for Judge, who is on pace to blow past 50 for the season. His strikeout rate has been creeping up throughout June, with his average falling nearly 20 points since June 12, but that's nitpicking. Judge still ranks third in the AL in average, and he's first in most of the other traditional offensive categories.
Jun 22 2017Judge went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and three RBI in Thursday's loss to the Angels. The biggest slugger in baseball hit his major league-leading 25th homer of the season Thursday and pulled to one RBI behind Seattle's Nelson Cruz for the American League lead in runs batted in (57). He'll carry his .331/.439.702 slash line into Friday's home game against Texas ace Yu Darvish.
Jun 17 2017Judge finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored against the A's on Friday. It was Judge's major-league leading 23rd home run of the season, and it came at just the right time, with the Yankees trailing 4-0 in the third. Judge is quickly propelling himself toward superstar status in the league and is now slashing .339/.447/.713 over 275 plate appearances in 2017.
Jun 11 2017Judge went 3-for-4 and also reached on a walk to go along with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's win over the Orioles.Judge got things started with a solo shot in the first inning to help pace the Yankees offense on a night the team would score 16 times, and finished the contest just a triple shy of the cycle. The 25-year-old has been an absolute stud all year, as he's sporting a .332/.439/.678 slash line to go with his MLB-leading 19 home runs.
Jun 11 2017Judge went 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, four runs scored and a walk during Sunday's 14-3 win over the Orioles.Judge launched a mammoth 496-foot solo home run to left center in the sixth inning and drove in another pair with a shot over the fence in right center in the seventh. The four-hit day raised his OPS on the season to an otherworldly 1.168 and his 21 home runs lead all of baseball. Judge continues to display a brand of power that is virtually unmatched in the big leagues and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Jun 2 2017Judge went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, two walks and two runs Friday against the Blue Jays.Judge launched his 18th blast of the year to put the Yankees on the board in the sixth inning of a divisional loss. He continues to be among the absolute elite fantasy options this year, as he's slashing .326/.431/.691.
May 28 2017Judge went 2-for-4 with a grand slam during Sunday's win over Oakland. This was just the third round tripper through the past 20 games for Judge, as he's beginning to cool off after his torrid early-season pace. However, he went 22-for-71 (.310 batting average) during that 20-game stretch to continue moving the fantasy needle. There are likely to be more peaks and valleys over the coming months, but Judge's playing time isn't in jeopardy at this point, so he should power his way out of any slumps in short order.
May 20 2017Judge is batting fifth and serving as the designated hitter for the first time this season Saturday against the Rays. With Chris Carter getting the day off and Matt Holliday starting at first base, Judge moves to the DH spot for the first time in his career. The 25-year-old is hitting .351 with four home runs this month, so Saturday will only serve as another opportunity to build on his impressive campaign.
May 14 2017Judge went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, walk, and two runs scored in Sunday's 11-6 win over Houston. His fourth inning home run hit three-quarters up the batter's eye in dead center field. It was his first home run since May 3, but he has still consistently gotten on base in spite of the week-and-a-half power drought. Judge now has a .316/.414/.754 slash line through six weeks of baseball. Keep him installed as a regular in your fantasy lineup.
